Do you have any beauty items on your holiday wish list? Share!

I’m fortunate that I get more than my fill throughout the year by buying products to review! When it comes to my wish list, I haven’t put anything beauty-related it on for years.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I am so swamped with makeup that the only things for me would be backups/replacements of products I use often and love – my cleanser, eye cream (though I already have purchased replacements for both) and some of my often-used lipsticks (UD Gash and Smashbox Red Rage). Of course, if someone surprised me with a great e/s palette that I don’t really need (that KvD Saint and Sinner one, I think it’s called), I wouldn’t be running back to the store to return it!

I only get gifts from my Mother and my daughter. Neither want to buy me makeup. I did put some fragrance on my “wish list” that I gave my daughter and I believe she bought me a bottle of something. (I also have a hard time putting makeup items on a wish list anyway bc I typically buy makeup as the items release so it’s hard to pick something that I care to wait for.)

Not specifically for the holidays, or really any “need it right this minute” items. However, I am going to try to get over to Sephora tomorrow (depending on how I’m feeling) to try on and very likely buy Fenty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. Beyond that, waiting for UD to restock their Vice Lipsticks after last Monday’s Wipeout of most shades, and keeping my eye out for Heavy Metal to go on a deep sale or clearance.

This is the time of year I like to look at the ‘value’ fragrance sets. I love the ones with the body cream and a miniature included. It’s a once a year treat I like to give to myself. Otherwise, I’m just enjoying what I have, which is plenty.

Wow, he’s doing his own research?!? I am beyond impressed to hear that. My past relationships would’ve rather gouged their eyes out than even walk into a Sephora with me let alone do their own research! Thats just awesome in my book, you got a good one Joan!

Haha yeah, we have a tendency to spoil each other at Christmas. Part of the spoiling is that we hope to truly surprise each other. So as I have become more interested in makeup we have tried a few methods of relaying my wishlist while maintaining surprise. But yes, he is gem!!

That’s so cute. My very manly man won’t research and select makeup, but he does, sometimes for no reason, go into Ulta and buy a gift card for $50 or $100 for me. He says he feels out of place and the staff goes up to him and is like “Can I help you with something?”

It’s always a nice surprise to come home and find a gift card sitting on my laptop.

That is a really nice surprise!! My SO has what we’ve deemed as the “dad” characteristic where he loves to and can very easily talk to anyone at anytime. So he likes to talk to employees at stores, but otherwise I can see that being very intimidating.

I am quite sure that you have enough beauty items to last you several lifetimes Christine!
For me, the only one that I am interested in is the Huda Smokey Obsessions palette. I really liked the shades, but then again, I have enough for a few lifetimes as well.
I generally request perfume for my birthday/Christmas wishlist – and I pick it out. It’s much easier for everyone.

I have several items that I would like but since I only receive gifts from my daughter and she is on a very strict budget, I don’t suggest them. She would feel badly about not being able to afford to give me what my heart really desires, Hakuhodo brushes. I would also love to get a couple of Jill Stuart products. So, I will probably wait until the new year and then pick up the things I want for myself. Expensive as they are, I think she picked me up one of the Pat McGrath lipsticks because I was raving about the formula. I don’t want to buy anymore until after the holidays for that reason.

Nars Vivien lipstick is on my wish list! I’ve admired the shade for a good while now. I also like the color Apoline. I have some Velvet Lip Pencils from them but never tried their lipstick. I also really want to try CP’s Ultra Satin lipcolor and gloss. I’m new to CP as well. Had a few colors in mind but the only one I can think of is Dopey. Lip products are my downfall. Broke my no buy and just dropped some $ on the UD Vice Lipstick sale. I probably really don’t need anymore lippies but I want them anyway! Hehe. Have a ton on my wish list but really don’t need anything. As of now, trying to talk myself out of buying more lip products. I’m somewhere in limbo about it!

I have learned that I have to buy my own goodies . I always go big on the year end releases although I never intend to ! The Sephora 20% off Sale – ugh oh . I get
lots of beauty goodies for my daughter and daughter in laws , too . One of my favorites is the UD Vice Lipstick with the free engraving of their names . Much less expensive than the Tom Ford ones with their names ! I love love love shopping the Nov. & Dec. releases and the great sale and promo periods .

I splurged yesterday & treated myself to the Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette. I thought it looked beautiful online, but when I swatched it in store I was blown away. I am a sucker for gold shimmer shades. I tried hard to talk myself out of it because of the price lol. I usually can dupe things cheaper, but it is just stunning. Really loving it! I would like to get 1 or 2 of the Huda Obsessions palettes too maybe. Happy Holidays everyone! May your stockings be filled with makeup!

I had Modern Mercury (original and new) on my Holiday wishlist and found both on Poshmark! So I picked them up early.

Speaking of which: Christine! I can’t comment on your review for the Victoria Beckham one but I have both the original and new MM powder! The original is a little cooler, pinker, and more shiny/frosty. The newer one is warmer, slightly more orange, and has an evener shimmer/sparkle. It’s not as blinding/mirror-like when layered. The texture is very similar, with VB one a little more softer and blendable. KarlaSugar has swatches from 2011 that are pretty true to life, IMO.

Everybody in my family gives me gift cards from Sephora, Lush, Macys and MAC for Christmas and my January birthday. I have plenty already but I’ll buy later with my gift cards. I’m still thinking about buying something from Muse Beauty sale. Maybe the Viseart Grande Pro palette?

I’m good with my beautiful goodies I am thinking to go on a color everything makeup diet next year only concentrate and research on better skin care. I wouldn’t mind receive big for Christmas anything from NARS especially the highliter palettes and of course any other beautiful expensive little surprise packaging. My daughter told me she hit something really nice for me and I can’t wait to see it! I’m good with my makeup precious stash for athe lifetime of a cat. Lol!
Hope everyone gets pretty packages down their chimney, windows, door, mail box or roof leak. ???????‍♀️??

Ha…my wishlist is basically for me to get for myself. I don’t do a big gift exchange. I am hoping (planning) to pick up Too Faced Chocolate Bar Gold palette, Lorac Mega Pro 4, and some of the Diamond Lip toppers from Lime Crime. Maybe a Morphe 35O or 35O2 palette as well.
