I like trios or quads, and I like when brands release a few so that they can address the needs of different skin tones. Otherwise, I prefer that they are in the same vein — e.g.
all cool or warm-toned shades.

I’m actually on the hunt for a blush palette with all cool-toned shades. Maybe a pink that is wearable for day, a darker pink or red for evening, a nice pinky coral, and… a berry shade perhaps? If a palette has a highlighter or bronzer included, I won’t buy it. Blush only please. ?

Typically I buy cheek palettes when I really like a formula already. I also can be tempted by something unique, like I bought the ABH gleam kit because the I was tempted by the idea of pink highlight or I bought the moonchild because I was interested in the idea of green/blue highlight.
For me, the Unfiltered II palette from Nars is a perfect choice. I can wear all six shades, all year round, when I’m pale or I’m a bit tanned. The lightest shade can be worn as a highlighter as well. There are pinks, peaches and a darker shade. I often reach for it in the morning when I’m in a hurry and I need to quickly find a blush that goes well with the makeup of the day.

I don’t really like cheek palettes because there are always shades that I wouldn’t use, so they are a waste of money for me.
The only blush/highlighter palette that I really like is the Natio Blush/Highlighter mosaic in Sunkissed – a range of soft peachy/coral tones in one palette.
I love palettes in general, but I really only have one that I bought as a palette vs “created” myself. Its a Benefit palette that I bought to try their formula; 5 blushes and one bronzer. I like the blushes, really like one of them, bronzer is ok. My favorite formula is Clinique Cheek Pops and I’ve never seen a palette by Clinique, but I’d buy it, lol. Has anyone ever tried to de-pot a Clinique blush? I’d be interested to know how it went.
Hi! I’ve never tried the Clinique Cheek Pops, but when I looked into them a few years ago before I went cruelty free I saw that someone on a forum said you shouldn’t depot them because they’re baked (i.e. in a terracota pan, not a metal one), so the pan and the product would likely shatter. I hope this helps!

Overall, they usually just aren’t. I never like/use all the shades. I bought the Tarte 10-pan blush palette from last year, and I hardly ever pick it up anymore. I can occasionally get into highlighting palettes if I like the formula (I have the Anastasia Gleam and Moonchild kits and they’re both beautiful). I don’t wear bronzer, so that eliminates most cheek palettes. I sometimes will enjoy a duo or maybe a trio if it has a well-paired highlight, and then 1-2 blushes. They need to offer multiple palettes though, because if they don’t the colors in a single palette are usually too dark for me/not my thing.
I hadn’t purchased one in many years and decided to try Profussion palette available now at Target. To my surprise the colors did a good job i’m liking the mauve lots and other more natural pinky ones, soft peach, some like a light bronze. I need to do my homework and notice whether they last but the colors are pretty. Surprise! Surprise! Curiosity didn’t kill this cat fir trying a very cheap makeup item. I wish WetnWild would release a blush palette! I prefer them not too small sizes and this Profussion has decent sizes otherwise you get your brush into the next color especiallycwith cream. Wouldn’t like that mess. Love blushes! They are my best friend a real necessity i’m pale. Lol! I’m supposed to be ‘very tropical looking’ but instead a ghost.
My wish is for brands to PLEASE issue more than one version that usually only works on lighter skintones! Like; at least one light-to-medium and one tan-to-deep. Although ideally it *should* be 3 versions: Fair-to-lt.med, med.-to- tan, dark-to-deep.
I also love some variety in the shades, not all “samey” like this winter’s Tarte Amazonian Clay cheek palettes. Because, sometimes I would like to experiment with shades that are different!
It would have three pans, all which would work on my slightly cool, light medium skin tone.
Ideally it would be the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow with a blush such as Madly, Jersey or Exposed included. If such a palette were ever made I’d be done! 😉
A good variety of shades, and not too dark for my skintone. I like a nice powder formula that doesn’t oxidize on me. Packaging that has a mirror and travels well is appreciated, because that’s mostly what I use blush palettes for. Pretty packaging is always a bonus!
