Happy 5th Anniversary!

Temptalia started October 2006, which means it’s our five-year anniversary this month! 🙂  Happy 5th Anniversary!

To date, Temptalia has…

  • … received 607,182 comments
  • … published 10,456 posts
  • … written 2,788 review posts (keep in mind many cover more than one product or shade!)
  • … asked 1,452 questions through Temptalia Asks You.
  • … received 39.8 million visits, 122.8 million pageviews
  • … held over 300 contests.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the incredible support you have shown Temptalia over the past five years! Each year, we do more and grow in ways that I never thought possible. I can’t say I started Temptalia and thought (or even hoped) that this is where I would be five years later. When Temptalia began, beauty blogs were still new and an unknown quantity, so the idea of reaching as many people as we do today was so impossible it wasn’t even a dream. Temptalia has made me believe in myself and my dreams, because I now know nothing is impossible–at least not with enough hard work and dedication.

To readers: There is no greater motivator than you. Your comments and questions help me figure out where we need to go, what I need to do, to make Temptalia a better place to visit. When I meet people in the industry and behind-the-scenes (like brands, PR, etc.), I always stress the importance of my readers as number one. I am thinking of all of you and the things you want (and do not want) every step of the way. I look forward to the next year and what unfolds over time. Each year is better than the last, and for that, I’m extremely thankful to my readers, who have played a major role in making Temptalia possible.

To my family and friends: I appreciate all of the amazing emotional support you have given me, because I know that without your guidance, patience, and understanding, I could not be the person I am today. My family is always driving me to think bigger, dream more lavishly, and pursue the paths that will help me accomplish the goals I’ve set for myself–and they’re always right there waiting to help me in any way that they can. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on, rock to draw strength from, and roots to keep me grounded.  To have family and friends who understand why you cancel last minute because a new collection has arrived to swatch is unusual, but I do, and I love them even more for it.

First of all,congratulations! And, thank you for putting out such an amazing beauty blog, I swear I don’t buy a foundation without checking the foundation matrix first.
Anyways, I had a question about the giveaway… Is it one entry per person in total (for example, you have to chose whether to participate via youtube, comment, OR any of the other options), or could be one entry in each of the options (e.g: I leave a comment, I am subscribed to your youtube channel, I like you on Facebook, etc.) ?

Happy 5th Anniversary, Temptalia and Christine!

Christine, I possibly told you this before but I was on the MAC Livejournal Community when you entered the scene. I remember you used to post your FOTD’s. Your makeup skills have come a long way since then, and so have you as a person! It’s hard to believe I have followed you for this long – so many people come and go, online. I often feel very human when I look at what you do on a daily basis. You supercede the human norm; juggling a little family, school, young adult life AND a blog that is basically a full-time job. I mean, 1,000+ comments you had to moderate on your 5th Anniversary giveaway alone? Not to mention moderating the comments on all the posts you make on a daily basis? Writing those reviews and making those swatches (where you come up with that motivation, I would like to know so I can bottle it up and sell it. You can’t find it anywhere.) I cannot believe that you run this site with the resources you do. Readers would think there’s an office floor somewhere of busy little Temptalia bees.

Congratulations Christine! I just love your site, I think I’m on it pretty much every day…you review amazing products that I never even knew existed! The only tiny complaint I have is that about two months ago during one of your giveaways I supposedly won the Zoya fall collection, but never heard back and never got anything…perhaps the site is getting too big for one person to keep track of it all? Other than that, thanks for keeping all of us informed and entertained!
