I am so 50/50 in these Beauty Guru collabs mainly because I don’t consider them Beauty Gurus, just avid makeup lovers with some skill. It’s great to give these youtubers a chance to see their products out there and makes it better than just coming out with their own line – this way the formula is trusted and the name behind the brand is trusted so that’s awesome. I personally do not watch his videos but I know of him. It’s cracy the amount of “fame” these beauty vloggers has grown over the years. It’s all kind of BLEH to me because I find them losing their authenticity in their videos and that makes me not want to watch them or buy their products either way he’s a diva so the packaging should be divaesque which will be exciting to see.

The thing about Patric is that he is a working makeup artist that hussels in the industry to get jobs. A lot of beauty Gurus are a fledgeling makeup artist for the most part or avid makeup lovers and/or work in the industry in some way. I’ve been reading more and this is a year-long collab with him formulating products with MAC with 5 collections. This was teased first the setting powder as he wanted shade for baking with most skin tones in mind.

I just found out on @trendmood1 there will be 12 items in the collection that are Patrick’s must have picks with the powder which is supposed to be perfect for baking on any skin tone? And He is going to be doing several collections with MAC besides this first one.

Oooh, the magpie in me sees lots of shiny things! The ad reminds me a bit of the MAC x Mariah Carey collection from last holiday season, which I loved because of all the OTT sparkles. Looking forward to this collection

I am so happy for him! If you know the history of his experience working at MAC, I bet this is a life-defining moment for him and incredibly empowering. He seems like a genuine person and if I still bought from Mac, I would totally buy some of this collection.

Sarah Avatar

I love Patrick Starrr. He’s so positive and he makes me feel happier every time I see him on social media.

Definitely going to pick up a lipstick or two from this collab. 🙂

Let me put in one order: for his/her skin. I don’t mean to be creepy. I just don’t know which pronoun is preferred. Forget the product, just gimme the dermis.

I get so annoyed when there is all this hoopla over something that is supposed to be “new” and “exciting” and yet 3 of the 4 shadows in BOTH of the quads are permanent and products that many, many people already own! If both MAC and Patrick Starr (whom I’ve never heard of but that’s hardly surprising since makeup artists aren’t a big deal in my world) are SO creative, why not come out with some totally NEW stuff – that would be really exciting.

Jenn Avatar

Exactly. I was excited to see Christine’s updated post…then let down when the collab contained brown, brown, and more brown shadows. So boring and uninspiring. Starrr is known for his pinks, right? So why are the pinks all so subdued? Maybe I haven’t seen enough of his videos so I’ll ask his fans: does this seem like it fits his personality?

Renae carwana Avatar

I have the warm neutrals palette, which contains both brule and saddle from one of the palettes and amber lights from the other. Embark is listed by Christine as being in four other palettes, one of which i have just bought. Bit disappointing really, that they couldn’t mix it up a bit more

I’ll be getting Goal Getter just for Soft Brown, to be honest. The shade may be permanent but for some reason it isn’t available in my country! So weird. Considering I don’t own any of the other shades in the palette, I think this will be a win all round… if the collection makes its way to South Africa…

Not a single “beauty guru” deserves this more than Patrick. He’s an amazing, humble and loving person and deserves all the success. I always shy away from any youtuber collabs because I think it’s cheap and gimicky…but Patrick really does embrace the Mac brand. I have heard that this is like a year long contract and there will be four other collabs with him throughout the year.

Mahogany n Strip down are my two favorite lip pencils from Mac. I’m excited for this collection although I already got the shadow sets, I’ll definitely grab a lipstick tho-mamastarr <3

So not inclusive for various skin tones to me. I nust feel like none of this would look good on my dark skin… with how I like my makeup to look
