Make Up For Ever #12 Aqua Cream
Make Up For Ever #12 Aqua Cream ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “soft copper shimmer.” It’s a rich copper with a heavy metallic sheen. Being a copper. it has a reddish orange tone to it, so it tends to suit warmer complexions more than cooler ones. Though it’s a cream, it is similar in color to these powder eyeshadows: theBalm Meep Meep, Urban Decay Baked, MAC Amber Lights, and Giorgio Armani Gold Blitz.
I’m a big fan of Aqua Creams, because they really stay on well. The formula is all about bringing “rich color payoff” with long-lasting wear that does not crease or smudge. These have a creamy consistency that applies easily and smoothes out beautifully, but they do have a quicker dry down time–and once they set, they’re set for the rest of the day. I’ve worn numerous shades since they originally launched, and I’m never disappointed. The wear is truly phenomenal!

Ooh, I LIKE this!!!!
How does this compare to MAC’s Rubenesque? It looks similar
I believe Rubenesque is lighter.
I own and love this eyeshadow both as a base and on its own! I’ve gone swimming wearing it and it stays. Interestingly I have very cool skin and I’m fair (NW15) but I also have blue eyes there’s not a shade I own that makes my eyes look bluer!
How do these compare to paintpots? Do you think Aqua Creams perform better Christine?
I prefer Aqua Creams, but they perform the same on me.
I love Aqua Creams! My favorite is #13
Gorgeous color! How similar is this to MAC Indianwood paint pot Christine?
Indianwood seems a little bronzy – less copper in it, but they’re similar.
Funny, I was going to ask about Indianwood. 🙂
This looks like such a pretty color! How does it compare to MAC Indianwood paint pot color? It look’s kind of similar in the picture.
Indianwood seems a little bronzy – less copper in it, but they’re similar.
is this a new shade in the aqua cream line?
No.
do you wear these with primer or without? i’ve been interested in these for awhile, thanks for the review/swatches!
Without
I love golds and this does not disappoint, its GORGEOUS!
i have to have this!:) AHMAZING colour!
Just not my colour but I’m eager to try some of the other shades as they seem to be such good quality.
I love this shade, and I love aqua creams. I will definitely want to get this soon.
I’ve heard that some MUFE aqua creams are hard to blend. Is it true with this one?
I don’t have that issue – but they dry down quickly, so if you try to blend after they dry, then yes, it would be hard!
just wondering if you knew christine, how do aqua creams last over time? do they ever go hard and dry like some cream eyeliners? this colour is divine and i’m really thinking about getting it
All of the ones I have are fine.
Glad to hear that these don’t dry out as quickly as gel/cream eyeliners-I have about 10 that I can’t resurrect. Do you think that hazel eyes could carry off this color, b/c I love this color!
EnKoreMakeup has a good video on reviving those, maybe that would help! 🙂 I think it would work on hazel eyes! I’ve only had a paint pot dry out and that was because I forgot to close it for 3 days! I just microwaved it, and it came for me.
wantwantwant….
This color is amazing! I only recently bought my first Aqua Cream and I’m loving it, def. going to pick up this one next.
Thanks for this post!
Too gorgeous for words…MUST BUY!
