Like most the palettes released since Modern Renaissance, this is too red-toned for me but if I could wear those shades, I’d be mightily interested.
Good thing you mentioned that, Mariella, because I’m only half-awake and didn’t realize that this looks WAY too much like ABH MR palette! ?
OMG, I just ordered the Lila palette and I think I want this more!! I want everything I see, though. So pretty!
lol, a palette with a red and a black. Quelle surprise…. not. I’m pretty much on a no-buy until somebody comes up with something different.
Love that phrase “Quelle surprise”……well said Susan!
same.
I’m not crazy about MUFE shadows (I have two of their palettes, #1 Nudes and #4 Mattes) but this looks like a new formula and I love the color selection. I will more than likely haul it!
Why the new formula though? I love the normal artist shadows.
I just realized it says it’s a new formula. I’ll definitely need swatches!
Why, thank you, MUFE for this nice little surprise! Now to decipher the shade codes into their respective Sephora names as I look them up in the Swatch Gallery. Wish they didn’t have codes instead of names, as I can never remember numbers!
Nancy T and I both thought we would be saved, but, here it is. Looks as if it is less duped than many previous palette issues, but I will check your post on mufe dupes among the palettes. This one is pretty intuitive; combos jump out right away…. Check how your eyes move over the pans and put the looks together, easy. Classic neutral, basically, with a nod to warm/earthy/fall, as well as pink/purple/red, plus a beige and gold shimmer, a cooler and a warmer crease/transition shade. Looks like a winner to me!
I think it’s about time there was a moratorium on Modern Renaissance inspired palettes. It seems like there’s one every other week now. I think that they’re all very pretty, but it’s time for something else. As with the original Naked palette, it’s become so successful that it’s crowding out newer ideas. (That said, I’m curious to see what the next “palette every company needs to release” will be.)
Me too!
I hate removable tin lids for palettes too…
I love seeing the new releases too! I’m really interested in the upcoming Ciate collab palette. The Cargo Emerald City one (after the city not the movie) is kind of yawn for me though.
I thought it would be Subculture-inspired but so far not so much. Maybe it’s still coming, though.
Completely agree. I think soon companies will be playing “catch up” with the ABH Subculture palette and coming out with dupes of that. I might buy one because I’m not spending $42 on Subculture with all its bad reviews.
I really do wonder what “the next big thing” will be. Might we go back to the days of the 1960s with lots of blues and greens?
Kate, I couldn’t have said it better myself 🙂
I 100% agree. I’m happy so many people like and get use out of these types of palettes, but I’m so tired of them. The market is too saturated. I really just want something totally different.
Also agree with your last sentence. That will be awfully interesting.
Gorgeous palette. I definitely want this!
It’s quite a departure from past holidays’ palettes. I agree that it looks a lot like ABH MR. “New formula” always makes me nervous.
MUFE has a selection of twelve bajillion amazing shades in their singles line, and they decide to release a Modern Renaissance dupe palette? I call shenanigans.
To me it looks like ABH Modern Renaissance meets Mario palette (minus the green and the blue that are found in the latter) or like MJ Glambition meets Scandalust. If the quality is there, this might be a good option for someone who does not already own these palettes (or similar ones) or for travel.
However, can the beauty companies come up with some new, original and creative eyeshadow palettes ? Because it feels like Groundhog Day with these shades…
Man. I love MUFE shadows but I am tired of these pinky/red toned palettes. I’ll need to see swatches before I totally write it off. Do you know if you’ll be getting this one, Christine?
This is pretty… I already have a few shades as MUFE likes to repeat some shades fairly regularly. I just wonder what they mean with “with innovative, new eyeshadow formula in 12 matte and metallic shades.” the artist shadow formula isn’t new… ?
I will put it on my list but might wait an occasion to snatch it with a reduced price.
I’m not sure how it would look on me but I do like the color story.
Between eyeing Lila and the Viseart palette, not sure this is unique enough to make the list – plus I’m not sure I want the bulk of a tin. The bottom row appeals to me most, which likely means I have the shades already.
I agree with everyone’s comments about the nonstop new palettes inspired by Modern Renaissance. However, this palette is gorgeous. Will be difficult to resist.
Wow – this is so similar to the Natasha D. new one, Huda, ABH……etc etc. – all the shades of a lot of new palettes are starting to look the same to me.
Thanks for this nice surprise! I don’t have any ABH palettes, so after your review & swatches, this may make it into my collection. I have a MUFE lip session this weekend @ Sephora, so I’ll have to ask about the “new” formula. They’re updating everything, and I liked their old shadows, so I hope the new one is improved vs weak pigmentation.
Had to add as I looked at it again that it looks more classic & sophisticated than ABH’s MR, or HUDA’s last two.
I was like, “ooooh, pretty, and finally something different from MUFE for holidays” but then my second reaction was “but every. other. brand. has done warm-leaning-red pallettes and i’m so over it.”
Seriously, I want blues to take the beauty world by storm or something. I’m sick of everyone walking around with orange eyelids. And I realize there aren’t any real oranges in this palette, but it’s heavy on the reds and berries that have been accompanying those tones.
Remember when we were all into neutral palettes? I think i miss those days.
when would I get to see the swatches for this palette?
My gosh I cannot keep up with the holiday launches that’s happening right now.. from drugstore brands, indie brands and to luxury brands(Tom ford, Kevin aucoin, Chanel, Dior, YSL, Burberry, Bobbi Brown)
Am I the only one who is overwhelmed with cosmetic companies releasing holiday collections every single day of the week…They really need to slow down with the launches!! It’s driving me nuts because it’s so tempting to buy!
I might be the only person who can’t get enough of red and red-undertone shades, but I don’t have a multi-shade palette like this (or bigger) in my collection. Appreciate the observations comparing this palette to the ABH MR palette (I find some shades in it a little intimidating), and of course, the apt comment about removable tin lid. Will reflect on both while awaiting Christine’s swatches and review.
I do think MUFE dropped the ball in only now releasing a palette with matte shades…and again in shades of every other red toned palette ever, gah. I’m still drawn to it, but probably because I already have 7 of these in singles. Shades here:
M100 black
M608 red brown
ME512 golden beige
M322 khaki
M536 milk tea
ME728 copper red
M500 Ivory
M619 (new?- between espresso and gray brown maybe?)
ME840 pink chrome
M549 -(new? close to pink gray M548 maybe?)
M847- (new? close to morello cherry M846, but pinker perhaps?)
M928 eggplant
