Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick ($25.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a cream formula that can be used as a highlight or blush and is available in 10 shades. You’ll also find a swatch of the sole gloss released with the launch. I did not purchase any other products at this time as buying the powder highlighters and these cream cheek colors was quite a hit to the budget, so I hope you understand!

First Impressions

The formula is supposed to be long-wearing with a “light-as-air,” “blendable” texture that “lives to be layered.” They twist-up and are medium-sized with a domed edge. I found that applying to my fingertips worked better than direct application, as it enabled me greater control over coverage level as well as placement, and if you tend to apply over foundation, then this will help keep the Match Stix cleaner, too. The texture was thin, and it did seem to go from a “cream” in the tube to a more powder-like product once on the skin. They were blendable with a few being more sparkly with less visible base color, which may not be for everyone, and others had a more pearl-like sheen that didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture.

A problem I had throughout just swatching each shade on my cheeks for photos was that whatever was exposed was a bit dry, more powdery to the touch, and I felt like I had to really warm the product up and/or swipe it back and forth on the back of my hand to refresh the texture. This is not uncommon with drier, cream-based formulas, but it will be something I look more closely at as I test these over the coming weeks. Some shades were very pigmented, others were medium and buildable, and a couple were sheerer.

Wwendy, Karima McKimmie had posted on YT a review of some of the Fenty sticks, foundations, powder highlighters etc. When she applied the Starstruck , it did not blend on her skin. Mind you, she mentioned she has dry skin and applied it on top of the Fenty matte foundation. I have dehydrated/dry skin and I will give it a try in store.

Gorgoeus! I have Sinamon but Yacht Life, Chili Mango, Rum, and Ridiic are calling me. So happy everything is permanent because my wallet is not happy after the launch!

Suggest you swatch/match, rather than order online, blindly. The SAs at S were literally shocked at how yellow the lt-med and med ‘cool’ were on my forearm. And both were also too dark. Despite being lightly tanned and no ice princess. Admittedly, there are ~40 shades, but the ‘cool’ ones on display were not in the least cool friendly. I’m sure there will be plenty of Fenty foundation reviews/swatches to google. The color stuff was lovely, though.

Your Unicorn swatches somewhat different than mine in shade and intensity. (I posted my swatch this morning if you want to peek.) Mine is more of a platinum lilac as the site describes. I like a lot of your swatches so may hop off your link and order a few more since they are returnable if they don’t work for me. Thanks!

I picked up a sample of foundation in 150 (the light neutral shade, probably the most precise foundation match I’ve ever tried), and ordered the gloss and Matchstick in Yacht Life online because they were both sold out in store. I feel like Yacht Life is kind of NARS Orgasm-like, so basically a pretty but dupe-able blush highlighter hybrid. That said, I like the price point and I wanted to try the line out a little. Fenty Glow was sheer enough to be genuinely flattering on me without seeming too clear to be worth the effort, and the texture was great. My lips felt more hydrated than most lipglosses or moisturizing lipsticks leave them. It wasn’t sticky or overly thick, which are deal breakers to me.

Yeah, Yacht Life reminds me of Orgasm, the only difference being that YL actually shows up on brown skin. Everyone raves about Orgasm, but it doesn’t show up on my skin tone. I was really happy to see YL.

I wasn’t really interested in these but now I want Starstruck as a highlight and Yacht Life as a beautiful shimmery Orgasm-like blush. I don’t like the texture of the NARS multiples so hopefully these will be better.

Trippin and Yacht Life are very pretty, but I don’t intend to buy anything at this time. The Sephora I went to for the Rouge event had a huge new display of Fenty so I got to play around and see things firsthand. Some of the packaging was beautiful, the foundations, but others seemed less so. It wasn’t cheap, but I didn’t really like it. Maybe because it was beige?? Regardless, didn’t like it. I was glad to see that the foundation was so extensive. Hopefully everyone will be able to find a match and the formula will be good. I didn’t know much about Rihanna prior to this. Its nice she named it after her own last name.

Thanks for posting these so quickly Christine! I’m always amazed by your work ethic!! 🙂 Some of these look lovely too! I can’t wait to see some reviews!!

Oooh, these are so pretty! Eyeing Unicorn, Blonde, and Yacht Life. I prefer cream formulas for winter, when my skin is drier. I’m hoping the formula is good, and the stick doesn’t dry out
