I stumbled on the Sephora “Wow” this morning. I was not wow-ed…LOL! But the offerings are decent if you haven’t already purchased them so props to them for trying to stay competitive (even though I still think Ulta is crushing them!) Got that Ulta coupon this morning too. Why is it they always appear the day after you place an order?! At least this one is good through the 19th so some time to add things and wait to see if anything new pops up there. Are you going for anything from Ulta Christine?

I just blasted off an email to Sephora. I placed an order for 4 of the KVD yesterday before noon EST. About 4 hours later, I had FOMO and went back for Wizard. Well, my 2nd order shipped early this morning and I’ll have it tomorrow. Now that it’s after 5 pm, even if Sephora “ships” I won’t have my 1st order until next week. So, I sent them an email asking why they aren’t fulfilling orders in the order they are received!

I’m going to try to hold my 20% for the same reason although I have a few things in my cart. What I think they’re going to do is immediately after that promo expires, they’re going to go to their annual 10x points. So, even if something new arrives, at least we’ll get extra points for it.

I would love it if you do not plan on using it. Apparently, they release coupons on a lottery system now. I’m on the phone with customer service to see when that went into effect.

Sarah Avatar

You replied first so I’ll give it to you. I wonder if there’s a way I can direct message the code to you? I can leave a comment with the code, but I’m not sure if someone will use it before you can.

That’s what most sales are, clearing out things that haven’t sold well. You don’t see the UD Naked Heat palette on a big discount anywhere (at least I don’t).

These contour palettes, ugh. Dare I hope that the contouring/overcontouring fad is dying??

Susan Avatar

With you on that as well, Lisa! I like a little highlighter, and Christine here wears it beautifully, but I’ve seen some people who look like they faceplanted in a vat of fairy dust.

UD’s “Aura” (a light silvery pink) remains my fave highlighter, thanks to Temptalia.

I think the contouring/highlighting craze has gotten too extreme. I remember, back in the 1980s, how my friends and I would make fun of what we used to call “the brown lines” that women would paint across their cheeks, as was the style in those days (along with ginormous football player shoulder pads in women’s clothing). Nowadays, blending has become an art, which is great, but I think many people have gone way too far with these palettes, “sculpting” every single inch of their faces into a weird unnatural mask, even contouring and highlighting their collarbones, necks, and cleavage!

Anne Avatar

Word on this and all of the above! Lol! I remember that hollowed out 80s look only too well, because, well, I’m old! Some of those highlight colors are only good for eyshadow, at least for me. No blue or green on my face. Lavender, sometimes, if I’m feeling edgy.

Interesting what one of the commenters said about a lottery system for coupons – that probably explains why I got one but my mom didn’t. (I gave her mine because I don’t need anything and she recently got hooked on an $$$ Murad serum!)

Mariella Avatar

You’re right, Stephanie. I searched for “Sephora Wow” at the Canadian Sephora site and all I got was taken to all the Sephora products. I check the pricing on the Stila palettes and they weren’t marked down so clearly, we’re being totally overlooked (yet again!)

Amy Avatar

May I have your code? I’ve never splurged on a product before and I’d appreciate an opportunity to get a makeup product I’ve always wanted.

Erin Avatar

Awesome! Thanks so much! You can email it to me at georgiasinclair79[at]yahoo.com… I’ll just risk getting spammed if you don’t mind emailing me. Thanks again 🙂

Anne Avatar

Those OMG items didn’t last an hour, except of course, the ones I didn’t want! Saving me from myself, I guess… I put in an email request to get notified when one of the Stila palettes is back in stock but methinks they are de-stocking (as is Ulta) and they won’t be back. I think I’ll be more inclined to use my 20% Ulta coupon although I really want the 250 point reward, Light Blue Eau Intense.

Leslie Lacroix Avatar

Would anyone be willing to share their 20% off code with me if they aren’t using it? I apparently was not important enough to be emailed through coupon. I’d truly appreciate it! I can be reached on twitter (at) @ Mrsleglam or by email Levieira(at)live.com

I’m interested in why everyone is saying Ulta has better shipping than Sephora?? Sephora has the flash shipping program and I don’t know if Ulta has anything like that. I find it annoying that sometimes Sephora requires $35 for free shipping and other times it’s $50. With flash shipping at Sephora, I can buy a $6 mask, not pay more for shipping and get it in 2 days! Is there something I’m missing from Ulta?

Belinda Avatar

Sephora I always have free shipping as a VIB Rouge but Utla I have to spend $50 for free shipping. I usually just pick up items from a local store. Sephora I only order if I can not get in store. I love supporting the stores.

Katherine T. Avatar

Well, well, well, the day Sephora drops their 50% off certain items, Ulta launches a 20% off everything coupon, definitely not a coincidence! Looks like they are in an arms race to grab customers, I say bring it on!!! I would love to see Sephora offer a cash rewards program, just like Ulta’s.

Lisa C Avatar

As would I, and I think they are noticing that Ulta is taking the spotlight. I recently got sent a survey from Sephora asking questions based on what kind of incentives would entice you to shop more at Sephora. They had multiple different possibilities, some including the same type of program as Ulta. For me its a no brainer, Ulta rules 100% The only negative I can say about them is that there is not enough of the luxury brands. But that could change! I even have great luck with their shipping, its never an issue for me.
