Chanel Quartz Le Vernis / Nail Lacquer
Chanel Fall 2011: Quartz Le Vernis
Chanel Quartz Le Vernis ($25.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a “silver beige.” This is shade that is difficult to describe. In natural light, it tends to look like a champagne beige with threads of silver shimmer. In brighter and more direct light, it looks like a beige-taupe with multi-colored shimmer and a metallic, silver, shimmer. This is a more office-friendly shade as comapred to the other two shades in the fall collection.
I used two coats, and it seemed a touch sheer but manageable. For me, the formula didn’t apply quite as evenly as I would have liked, but it wasn’t particularly troublesome. In the past, Chanel polishes have tended to last about a week on my nails with some minor tip wear (with a base/top coat).
It reminded me of Illamasqua Bacterium, which is a yellower brown.

Love it 😀 thank u for the great review as always <3
Pretty, but I’ve seen lots of colors similar – but can’t think of names right off the bat.
Oh this makes me so happy that I got Graphite instead! I know you don’t review OPI but this looks a lot like Sephora’s OPI “already famous” for those who want a cheaper dupe.
Ooo thanks for the dupe information! I googled swatches and their almost identical. I am going to pick it up instead of spending the 25 🙂
Yay! Happy to help! Already Famous is absolutely gorgeous. I was so happy to discover this dupe because it made buying Graphite instead an easier decision!
Agreed–thanks for the recs! I was just about to post that this might be my first Chanel polish purchase, cause I’m in love with it… And theeennnn I saw your comment ;]
You’re right, it looks like a more shimmery version of Bacterium which I have but don’t particularly like. This color is OK because of the shimmer.
It reminds me of a shimmer version of Orly Prince Charming.
Try layering it over Particulère – classy with an edge. This is the hidden gem of the fall collection.
I completely agree. It really comes to life outside.
I think RBL Decorous would be a great alternative
I have applied it over Deborah Lipmann’s Naked and it applied like a dream!:)
Not the most original colour but it’s my fave of the collection I was going to skip this one but now I’ve seen it on I’ll definitely buy it when it comes out in the UK
it’s a boring colour! :-/
This one is my favorite one out of the three! I have all three but I see myself using this one the most!!
I swatched all three of these new Chanel polishes in the store the other day. This was my least favorite, but I still loved it! The multicolored shimmer made it so nuanced, and it looked much more sophisticated than other metallics in the same vein that I own. Even though it’s not an exciting color, I could see this becoming a fall staple. Very wearable!
I bought this and am beyond underwhelmed. I will be giving this up probably on MUA. I like the graphite in this trio however a lot. Maybe I will try this over one coat of graphite to see what I come up with.
This looks like a perfect office wear to me!! 🙂
When I saw this, I immediately thought of Illamasqua Bacterium as well! (And I’ve already commented on how much I like that shade when you posted your review.) Quartz looks a bit lighter, more ethereal. Beautiful, complex color. Love it.
As soon as I saw this on All Lacquered Up, I thought of Bacterium, too.
This reminds me a lot of the UD Superfreak!
i really don’t like this one…
It seems very similar to China Glaze Swing Baby.
It reminds me very much of a shade I love from Boots 17 called “Toasted Almond.” It’s only £2.99 so I’ll stick to it!
