LORAC Unzipped Mountain Sunset Eyeshadow Palette ($42.00 for 0.58 oz.) includes 10 eyeshadows and a travel-sized eyeshadow primer. It’s part of the Unzipped series, and for the summer/fall, LORAC has released three new, limited edition Sunset-inspired editions. This is the cooler version of the three palettes, though there were warmer shades in it, and it also read as a smoky palette to my eye. The palettes launched this morning on ULTA! Full review to come 🙂

Bummer, I really wanted to like this one. Some of the shades look like misses, and the dark green is too black. Sigh…. thanks for saving me $42, though.

Susan,
Wait, there’s a dark green in this palatte? I totally missed that. Is it supposed to be the shade Blackout, cause that shade looks black to me! If that’s green, I agree, way too dark.

Susan Avatar

Ulta, at least, calls Blackout a “deep green matte.” I want a dark green but this is too dark. Picky, picky, picky! 😉

This palette might not look all that original but I love the look of it and I’m having a borderline foot-stamping tantrum (not for the first time) that Lorac is no longer available here. I might have to toss my convictions and principles aside and make a trip to the US to get one of these palettes.

Not sure what happened to Graphite, but Mountain Sunset is the perfect name for this kit – I can definitely picture brown mountains, green grass, blue skies with orange sunset

It’s Mountain Sunset for me. Saying this as a born and raised West Virginia girl (mountains ya’ll!), I can appreciate the tones in this and see how they could translate to mountains in Cali at sunset. Not as impressed with the other two. I liked Desert, but I think I could pull most of the colors from the Modern Ren palette and end up with a comparable look on the eyes. That said, Lorac is one of my favorite formulas and I might be suckered into getting Desert anyway. I know Lorac shadows tend to be a little dusty, but that translates to a perfect formula in Florida humidity. Win!

I like the look of this palette better in swatches! A couple of potential duds there, though – here’s hoping they perform better on the lid.b

wow, the stone eyshadow is just perfect! It might seem to be the most boring colour out of this bunch, but it it the basics what makes a palette great!
