What would YOU create?

What would YOU create?

In the spirit of creativity and inspiration, I would love to know what you would love to create, if you could create your very own shade.  Is there a particular brand?  Product type?  What would be your color?  Why?  Tell me about the shade you’d create (it can be anything–any kind of product, gloss or lipstick or blush or whatever!) — I’d love to see what you’d do and where your inspiration came from 🙂

I don’t know if it is possible to create this yet, but I would create a color changing eyeshadow. It would be one color inside when you had to do work and be professional, but a completely different awesome wild color when you went outside. The inside colors would be rich browns or golds and the outside colors would be vivid yellows, greens and blues.

Rachel Avatar

O.O that is such an odd product. How would that work? I am not sure I would want to put that on my skin until I knew how it worked. It is really really cool though. You could customize it to any color you wanted. My mind has been blown!!!!!!

Miss Kitty Avatar

how about fyrinnae’s arcane magic shadows? they change depending on how far away they are from light, so i guess it kind of works as you’re more likely to be close to a direct light source indoors 🙂

cmferrets Avatar

i would make all of macs newest flighty big bounce eyeshadows into paintpot versions. bc they were such beautiful colors but such a fail in product use. if they had came out in pp version – o would have bought them all . instead of 1 or 2- but i still dont knnow how to use them without failing.

Michilicious ~ Avatar

I would LOVE that aswell! I haven’t tried Stella irl so I don’t know if it’s really rainbow glitter or just gorgeous sparkle shifting in rainbow colours. For some reason I think ‘Rainbow Road’ would be a very appropriate name… :L

Noga Avatar

When I was a teen there was an eyeshadow by a drugstore brand – it was a matte sort of pink-coral that was amazing. It was the first I ever hit pan (and the only one to this date), just made me look wide awake, simply gorg and would go with anything. I’m afraid they stopped selling it a while back, and i just can’t find a suitable dupe 🙁

If I had to think of my own creation though, I’d probably go with a khaki-green eyeshadow with gold pearl, mid-tone but buildable to a really dark shade. I’ve always wanted one but can’t quite find the right shade. The inspiration? This is gonna sound wierd, but army uniform.

Megan Avatar

Try Kevyn Aucoin in Blush–it’s more pink in the pan, but builds up to a pink/coral matte on my lid. I love it for the same reason you loved yours!

laura Avatar

Actually I’d really like to create a hot pink eyeshadow with gold shimmer, buttery and very pigmented…something flattering any type of skintone!
I also would love a matte but creamy lipstick (candy yum yum formula is the best ever for me because it’s also really longlasting) and its colour would be a medium blue purple (and not a pink purple) not too sheer but not vampy! I also LOVE products that can be used on eyes cheecks and lips so I’d like to create something similar!

Adrienne Avatar

etsy- my beauty addiction. This girl makes her own eyeshadows and has one called rumors that’s very bright pink. I love it

Vvn Avatar

I’d create a matte teal eyeshadow, I’ve seen one by Inglot, but it’s incredibly difficult to get my mits on! I know mac has had sone similar but nothing permanent or close to what I’m thinking of!

Jessi Avatar

I would create an eyeshadow. It doesn’t matter which brand, just whichever one could do it best. I envision a bright, pigmented aqua/turquoise base with sparkles the color of a sunset- red, orange, pink, etc.

For about 6 months when i was a teenager my family lived in a condo right on the beach. This was right smack in the middle of the most turbulent years of my life, but I would always take a walk on the beach while the sun was going down, and watch it paint the waves in golds and reds as it descended with my toes buried in the sand at the very edge of the water. And as the waves washed over my feet I would feel all my troubles leave my body. This sounds really corny, but it was these moments I felt most at peace and in tune with the world. I haven’t been able to recreate the feeling since.

The eyeshadow I envision is inspired by that feeling.

Makeup-Mantra Avatar

I would create a dark grey with elements of dark blue in it cream eyeshadow- in the formula of the MAC paintpots. It should be incredibly pigmented and should look like dark charcoal grey or rich navy blue depending on the light. And it should have silver shimmer running through it. I could just put this on my lids and call it a day or rather night.

Liz Mc Avatar

I’d make a gray-green eyeshadow with silver pearl – not frosty or metallic, but with a sheen to it. I’d like it in the MAC Veluxe Pearl formula :).

By the way, nice job on your eyeshadow, Christine – it’s very original and looks like very good quality.

jess Avatar

Matte yellow liquid eyeliner! It would be a primary yellow and super pigmented so one wouldn’t have to go over it a thousand times to make it show up. I don’t know of any companies that make this, and the closest thing that i can think of for this was the #9 MUFE Aquarelle (but smooth application for this as an eyeliner was really difficult).

jasmin Avatar

Jordana cosmetics makes one for about $2 i saw it in a magazine and it said it was able at drugstores. A model was wearing it and it was such a beautiful yellow liquid liner

Christine Avatar

I would create a dupe of the Totally It lip gloss from the 2009 christmas release…Its a gorgeous hot neon pink and I have been looking for a dupe for ages!!

Elizabeth Avatar

I would be all over a white duocrome pressed eyeshadow that flashes teal and fuschia. Does such an item exist? I have looked high and low!

snm Avatar

it does in the Body Shop eyeshadow singles! they have really nice white duochromes, including a green one,i spotted them several weeks ago:)

Thu Avatar

I have this dream of creating a line of eyeshadow duos based on famous pairings in music or pop culture or whatever. I’d have a “Lennon/McCartney” duo and a “Macho Man/Hulk Hogan” duo etc, etc. A whole bunch of different lines based on different pairs. (I haven’t yet thought of what the actual colors would be though.) I love the formulation of UD shadows, but I love the packaging of NARS duos.

leesie Avatar

I would so buy the Macho Man/Hulk Hogan one. Yellow and red, maybe? Predictable, yes, but appropriate.
I’ve been of the opinion for awhile that it’d be kind of awesome to have a cosmetics line or collection where the colors are taken from wrestling, whether it be costumes of specific Superstars/Divas or just more general. One could envision a whole collection based off Miss Elizabeth’s dresses alone.

Sarah Avatar

Purple purple purple!! I have been on the hunt for the longest time for what i think its the “perfect purple” and i still have not found my match! So i would create a medium/bright purple with lilac flecks of shimmer/glitter. Not too dark, but not too light… light enough for the lid but dark enough for the crease also. I think i would either want it to be a mac veluxe pearl or an urban decay shadow. intensely pigmented but blendable. as for the purple color, i would probably want it to lean more blue than red/plum.

Christopher Avatar

This is by far one of the most exciting questions you’ve posted to date haha! I’d definitely want to create the NARS Orgasm of eyeshadows, meaning something that would flatter every single skin tone, and undertone. Something similar to Woodwinked in that you can put it in your crease and on your lid and it looks like two different colored eyeshadows. It would make it so much easier for alot of people to just grab a brush and sweep the powder from lid to brow bone, and it look like there were three separate colors used. Wouldn’t that be so cool?! As for brands, I would either go with MAC, NARS, or MUFE simply because they have a really great track record of fantastic eyeshadows already! 🙂

Lacey J. Avatar

I would create a caramel peach shade that is a slight more peach than caramel. It would probably be veluxe pearl or satin with low shimmer content and have a sheen that is somewhere between gold and coral with blue / pink / and purple / and gold flecks of shimmer.

I would probably call it something like Poetic Peach LOL… inspiration? I love peach and caramel colors also I love variations of flecks and just wondered what it would look like combined with a high sheen eyeshadow.

Suselew Avatar

Iridescent coppery bronze shadow..sultry and intriguing. To compliment my hazel eyes and auburn hair. Maybe it already exists out there but I doubt it has the right amount of depth.

Ani_BEE Avatar

More duochrome shadows! I love Club for that reason but once that shift from seafoam to gold and mid tone teal to royal blue.

I have a few that are orange to pinks, pink to purple and purple to blue but the green/blue combos are lacking.

Edelmc Avatar

I second the duochromes! I love club too and my dream duochrome would go from violet to royal blue. You said that you have ones that go purple to blue… What are they and what are your favs?

Lizzi Avatar

There’s something about how Disney’s animation team “invented” that gorgeous deep green-teal that they used as a main color in The Little Mermaid. I’d love to make that into a satin with a bit of hot pink sheen.

Ruby Avatar

I would create a lipstick, that is long wearing, cremesheen formula (MAC duh !) It should be a subtle/soft pink that would suit a dark skinned women. I havent been able to find any pink that wouldnt wash me out. If you know of a lipstick like that Christine, please let me know ! I have been searching high and low for it. 😀

Emmers Avatar

A single face product that acts as a foundation and concealer and skin brightener in one, that would self adjust to each persons desired level of coverage and always look completely natural. Never slips, slides, melts off, cakes or needs to be reapplied. It will always look just like your skin no matter how heavy the coverage is.

It would go on clear but become the perfect match for every skin tone there is.

It would be my own brand, and I would sell it for 1$

Violet Avatar

Printable nail polish decals 🙂 That way I can take any image on my computer and put it on my nails. Kind of like those Sally Hansen one’s that are so easy to apply and last forever.

Lizzi Avatar

OMG! I’d love that. They don’t make nail decals for hockey teams. I could make them! LOL! Bruins are gonna get the Cup this year!! Woo!

Jackie Avatar

If I could bring back any mac product it would’ve been Gimme That! Dazzleglass… As for my own creation… Hot pink eyeshadow with a lime green duochrome. 🙂

Crystal S. Avatar

I would create the perfect taupe eye shadow. Not too warm, not too cool, with a touch of gold and rose shimmer. Veluxe Pearl finish and I would name it Holy Grail

Nat Avatar

I have Buxom lipgloss in Princess, and I have been looking all over for an eyeshadow like it. The gloss is like mauve/lotus/light pink color with a gold shift. It’s really pretty. I’ve been looking for at least the base color so I can try to create it with a gold shadow.

lol I used to have this vision for a perfume called B*tch (without the censor). I looked it up and saw that the name was already taken. But my version would marketed like those teen fiction books like Gossip Girl and The A-List. The look would have a California feel. The box would be white with a green palm tree and hot pink writing. I didn’t really think about the scent though…

Naz Avatar

I would love a MAC Paintpot in a greyed purple-storm color without glitter, without microshimmer. Something ideal for bringing out brown eyes, easy application (this is why paintpots work best), and stays put all day. Paintpots are great but there are so few shades.

Brittney Avatar

The Plum Lipstick and Blush… because I have an issue finding it…

A Plum lipstick that would be an amplified if possible but a mix between MAC Up the Amp and Loreal HIP from way back when Royal.

A Plum blush that would look darkish plum but not be soo in your face as illamasqua but not as light and plumish as Plum Foolery.. just a medium color plum.

Lee Avatar

This sounds so boring but I want a matte MAC Paintpot that’s a very light fleshtone. I use Bare Study but it’s often too shimmery and Soft Ochre is too yellow. I’m really really pale and have trouble finding products to match my skintone. I’d also do a great mascara in Auburn which is a shade really hard to find.
For color, it’d be the perfect dark hot pink lipstick, not too bright or glittery, perfect for a pop of color at work.

Diane Avatar

I’m really pale and MAC’s Painterly matched me almost perfectly! I don’t remember it having any shimmer! Unfortunately, I have really oily lids so I switched to Urban Decay Primer Potion in Orig. and put MAC Blanc Type e/s over that before I do anything else.

Miranda Avatar

i wouldn’t really be creating this per say, but i would probably adjust those “big bounce eyeshadows” and give them a more paint pot like consistency but keep the gorgeous colors. I also would create mascaras in the colors of the MUFE aqualiners or the Stila glitter liners

Chris25 Avatar

As strange as this is going to sound, I feel like there are not enough browns with warm enough tones for dark skin. I was working on a black model last week, and the dark brown eyeshadows I used in her crease didn’t show up. Another blackish-brown was too harsh on her. I finally used NARS Mekong in her crease and outer v. It looked great after I was done, but it was a pink makeup look and I wasn’t too thrilled to use such a dark color. I would create better colors for tanned and darker complexions.

Dusty Avatar

I’m constantly custom-blending and mixing lipsticks and pigments (it’s like what I do when I’m bored LOL) My favorite mix-ups to date are:

A gunmetal/plum lipstick that looks like a MEANER version of Grid by MAC (GAH! Do you remember Grid? I LOVED that! They NEED to bring it back!)

An eyeshadow that I call, “I Feel Okay” that’s seriously just a little bit of every pigment I have with Reflects Teal Glitter thrown in for good measure. It kind of looks like Silver Ring if it spent the night drinking drinking Vodka and Red Bull behind a dumpster. It’s HOT! 😛

I should post photos of these…

Michelle Avatar

I’d actually like recommendations for products like these, because I know they’re out there. Sorry I got carried away!
My perfect pale pink nail polish- not too lilac, beige, pastel, or sheer- somewhat like Butter London Teddy Girl. It’d NEVER chip. I also want the most neon pink polish possible- brighter than China Glaze Pool Party. I want NARS Orgasm in a cream blush formula, opaque yet non-drying lipstick, and eyeshadow. A cool pale pink blush with pearlescent (is that a word?) sheen would be nice. I’d like an insanely pigmented purple eyeshadow (neither blue nor red based) with very fine silver sparkles. I also want an eyeliner like that! I want a semi-sheer pink-red lipstick in a plumping and long-wearing formula. I’d create an eyeshadow palette with as many shades of gold as possible- I’d also do that for medium-dark purples and bronzes. The formula would be like Urban Decay’s deluxe eyeshadows. A silvery-purple like one Maybelline did once would be nice because I used it up. And foundation- it’d be medium-full coverage, thin liquid, it’d be moisturizing with a satin finish, it’d fill in my pores and perfectly conceal dark circles, fine lines, and zits, it’d make my skin perfect in a good way, and it’d never get cakey or wear off. It also needs to change tone to match my skin in summer and winter. Plus, I’d like a glow-in-the-dark glitter eyeliner.
I’ll stop myself here!

Dini Avatar

I would love to make the perfect burgundy eyeshadow. Not too red, not too pink, not too purple, and not too dark/dirty. Still searching for the perfect one…

Kelsey Avatar

My creations would be kind of selfish – I would create my perfect foundation shade, and my perfect “my lips but better” lip color. These are two makeup items that continue to elude me, despite years of trying different brands and products.

LizaMichelle Avatar

Yup I second that- having someone create a foundation just for my skin, the perfect shade, the perfect coverage. That would be a product to use for a lifetime.

Taylor Avatar

id like to create an aqua/teal with gold and copper sparkles in it also a matte peachy coral, and for lipstick a creamsheen warm pink (similar to viva glam gaga 1, but with a warm undertone)

Liz K Avatar

A Illamasqua matte lipstick (my favorite formula, it’s long wearing and not drying like MAC l/s are) in a brighty plummy magenta-purple shade, something like MAC’s Rebel with more plum to it.

An Inglot pearl e/s formula (my fave e/s formula because it’s the most wonderful balance: pigmented, smooth, blendable, not ott shimmer, and not a lot of fallout) in a neutral bronze with golden duochrome (not too orange, green, brown or copper leaning)…It would just glide on as a bronze with gold tones when it catches in the light.

Anna Avatar

I would make totally different Chanel summer collection. It would include bronzer with golden particles paired with iridescent eyeshadow with hint of gold and copper.

Heidi S. Avatar

You said creative, so here I go (it requires some fairy dust, haha!) I would create an eye shadow that would morph from neutral to a more glam look for night time…on it’s own. IE, after the 8-hour time frame, it would change from neutral to dark, and dramatic. Hey, I can dream, right 🙂

Miss Kitty Avatar

Illamasqua’s ‘glister’ precision ink kind of has that kind of idea- it goes on like a nude colour but as the day goes on it slowly wears off to reveal a more festive glitter/shimmer underneath!

Rebecca Avatar

I would make my own makeup brand called HouseofHeads. It would sell unique pigments like pink with a yellow duo chrome, and a rainbow colored glitter. I’d also create rich browns and rusts and golds and coppers that can be used everyday or for a dramatic night out. This has been my dream for the past year now and one day hopefully it’ll come true 🙂

Vicky Avatar

I would create a black eyeshadow in gel form that stays wet looking and has iridiscent (or maybe silver) glitter. For evening formal smokey eyes. For now I can achieve this look with vaseline or glitter gel on top of black eyeshadow. I think it should be MAC or MUFE, or even Illamasqua!

Dana Avatar

This sounds awesome! I’d love something like this! I’m always trying to create a glossy black eye but there is always a problem with creasing 🙁

Michilicious ~ Avatar

Trying to achieve a glossy eye is pretty useless for me, my eyelids don’t show up much unless when I tilt my head up or blink or something like that (I have naturally ‘hooded’ lids) so you can’t even see it well, it just gives an uncomfortable feeling D:

Roxanne Avatar

A truly beautiful orange lipstick. It would be the colour of a really ripe, juicy orange, and would taste just like it. Finish wise, I think I’d want it to not be sheer, but not a block of colour either. Inbetween, and really, really moisturizing.

I just really like fruit inspired colours. I think I’d LOVE a watermelon coloured eye shadow. Definitely matte, but really buttery and highly pigmented.

Megan Avatar

I would totally wear this. For someone with pigmented lips, that would be ridiculously flattering. It would end up looking like a perfect coral–not too pink, not too orange. If I want coral now, I pretty much need to go full-coverage lipstick.

Roxanne Avatar

Oh I’d also create UDPP in white. Not quite a stark, opaque white, but definitely matte. I can’t find a good white base that doesn’t crease on me 🙁

Mariella Avatar

I would create exact dupes for Urban Decay’s Maui Wowie and Midnight Cowboy Rides Again only there would be NO FALLOUT. They would still have the glitter (especially Maui Wowie, which has glitter that doesn’t look too OTT) but the glitter would stay on your lids or wherever you placed the shadow.

If I had to make a “new” colour, it would probably be a rich brown without too much red that had the same sort of sheen as the green you created, Christine, or the gorgeous sheen/complexity of Birds & Berries but in a brown and, of course, Velux Pearl finish. Oh and more Matte 2 shadows…it seems MAC is phasing those out which is a shame as they are so good.

Gabby T Avatar

I would create a lipglass that had a pinkish/blue duochrome effect. I’m probably not describing it right but when I was in college, Revlon Streetwear made one that I was obsessed with. It was discontinued and I have spent the last 10 years trying to find something to duplicate it.
And Christine, your eyeshadow is absolutely gorgeous – this will be the first green eyeshadow I have ever bought. That color is just phenomenal.

Jaime Avatar

i would love to create a blush for Benefit! I’m huge fan of their boxed blushes, all of them are so unique. I would create a purple raspberry red(not super dark though, it would be kind of bright) with pink and possibly slight coral undertones. It woud have a sheen finish, i’m not a fan of blushes with tons of sparkle. The inspiration would be a lipgloss i got from a drugstore brand, that have not been able to find again.

Liz Avatar

A contour shade that isn’t brown/beige/bronzer-coloured but imitates the natural colour of a shadow – something like a sheer, slightly plummy grey.

Or/And a YSL rouge volupte (love that opaque creamyness)in a light rose shade with a mauvy/plummy undertone.

A Guerlain kohl in a not too metallic purple-y taupe (think oriental metal in terms of metallicness).

I could go on and on and on, I’m having way too much fun with this!

Megan Avatar

I’d love to make a very bright purple with pink and lilac flecks… haha (I’m always looking for a bright purple… I love them)

Pauline Avatar

i used to have a drugstore eyeshaddow that I used EVERY day, i used it so much i actually used it up, and the thing is that it was limited edition and I just can’t find a Good dupe for it, so I would make a MAC version, a light gold with neutral undertones (not as green as Gorgeous Gold) and with a velvuxe pearl finish!

snm Avatar

I would definetely go for the lips as I am a lipstick junkie.they would be metallic lippies.not shimmery,or frosty but true metallics with darker colors with some iridescent shimmer! I desperately search for such thing but they are very rare.even the famous Adora,Queen’s sin etc are not that metallic to me:) but hourglass-siren does the trick:)

bobbigirl999 Avatar

I would love to create nailpolish. My colour would be dark taupy brown with blue shimmer. Blue glow coming from brown background . That was my entry for Rescue beauty fans contest.

Lingping Avatar

What a lovely question! I think it would have to be a high quality mineral foundation like Bare Escentuals with more shades geared towards skin that is really fair, or with red/pink undertones, or very dark. I need those two first 🙂 very fair and pink, not beige at all. And it seems very dark shades are also hard to find. Good and healthy foundations in hard to find shades, that I’d like to have my name on 🙂

Jessica Avatar

I want a semi-glossy lipstick, perhaps like a cremesheen finish, that is a true vibrant blue violet. I mean that it has to glow almost, and it would have multi-dimensional cerulean blue pearl in it. But I want it to be semi-opaque so it wouldn’t look like Halloween.

Jill Avatar

I would love an eyeshadow that is a true red with gold pearl, in a MAC frost finish. My inspiration is Miss Scarlett from Clue, true crime heroines, and a touch of geisha mystery.

Megan Avatar

This is fun.

I’d do:

You know that color blue when dusk is settling in, and the sky was perfect sky blue all day? So when the sun sets, you have the palette of the orange of the sun, going up to rust, then to a blue that isn’t teal, isn’t quite cerulean…a nearly-cerulean blue with notes of teal and indigo, maybe a little green. I want this, badly, in a creme nail polish. Every time the sun sets perfectly like this, I call it Favorite Color Sky blue.

I also want a medium carnation pink stickgloss with a nearly duochrome gold. I don’t want gold shimmer–and I don’t want it to look like my lips are all gold in a certain light–but I do want a non-shiny, almost foil effect that shows a pink base mixed with gold. I don’t want full-pigment lipstick; I want it to be enough that I can wear it over my berry lips, but not heavy. Hourglass’ Fortune Extreme Sheen comes a little close–it needs to be a more intense pink, with a little coral, but the effect (the same effect Siren has) is what I’m looking for.

Those two are my holy grails. I don’t think I will ever find them. I’ve found products that come close…but nothing perfect.

Adrienne Avatar

I would like to see a neon green eyeshadow that’s very pigmented. Mainly because I have yet to find one. Also, I’m very pale and it’s sometimes hard to find foundation/concealers that suit me. I’d like to see a line made for paler people.

Megan Avatar

There’s a line (Modcloth carries them, but you can order direct) called Lime Crime. Try them–I’m pretty sure they have the color you’re looking for!

Michilicious ~ Avatar

Although just so you know, there are pretty much identical eye shadows from TKB with A LOT better value. I think I read on Lipsticks & Lightsavers that you got like 24x more product for the price or something like that… I’m not sure if there are exact matches for all of them, but yeh.

Stephanie Avatar

i would create a nars gloss minus the bees wax and funky smell (add some absolutely delish gormet smell like vanilla/carmel)and it would be the color of sandpiper minus some glitte plus some pigment(to make it more opaque) and lightend just a tad (to be between the color sandpiper and a latte) 🙂 omg id live in this gloss! seriously id sleep in it!! my orangy brown skin color makes it nearly impossible to find a nude-y shade that does not make me look dead or frozen (or both)

Kathleen Avatar

I have a phone case that is a vibrant purple with a pink duochrome. Very bright, beautiful color. I’ve been searching for it’s eyeshadow equivalent and coming up short at every turn.

Karen Avatar

For nail polish, I’d really like a royal blue holo, but for eyeshadow I’d do a light pink shadow that had teal duochrome. I’d also really love a true raspberry blush, not purple at all but the real color of a raspberry.

Wendy Avatar

I’d like to create a range of lipsticks and lipglasses (more than one product, I know!) – truly metallic lipsticks in jewel tones – rich emerald green, deep blood-ruby red, glistening sapphire blue and rich amethyst purple (not leaning too red – a true royal purple), with dazzleglasses in matching colours, using the fabulous Dare to Wear formula.

Annaham Avatar

I’m a cartoonist, so I would probably create an everyday-type lipstick and gloss set, to be worn together or apart (but they would look most amazing when combined!)–possibly a nude-pink shade for the lipstick, and a slightly plummy pink for the gloss. Not sure what I’d call them, though.

Annaham Avatar

Haha, of course I forgot to follow up the first part of my sentence in my previous comment. Anyway, my inspiration for the lipstick/gloss set would be that they can be worn apart and still look nice, like the single pen and piece of paper that are interesting on their own–but that, together, combine to create a work of art!

Stefani Avatar

This might sound really weird…. but I would DIE for a Glow in the Dark lipstick/lipgloss/eyeshadow. It sounds really gimmicky but if done perfect I believe it could do well. It could also have Glow in the Dark packaging. Just imagine it….. You put on your lipstick in the daytime for work. Its just or average lipstick. But when you leave work to go party… YOUR LIPS WILL BE GLOWING!!!! And its really dark in the club so you cant find your lipgloss in your purse…. but with a Glow in the Dark lipgloss, you can find it easily!

Victoria Avatar

I would like an actually creaseless gloss — a product that would give the sexy, glossy finish to the eyes without creasing and running all over the place!

Julia Avatar

I would want to make a nude lipstick in satin formula that (unlike EVERY other nude I have tried) does not make me look like a corpse!

Madeline Avatar

I would create an eyeshadow- any brand- in a pure pewter color. It would be very pigmented and metallic. I have been looking for a color like this forever!

Nazish Avatar

I would love to create a khaki green in either a semi matte or a duo chrome with gold and grey sparkle. By any brand would be fine but I really love urban decay.
Also, how abt Magically liquid double duty products by Mac. For example, they can used as blush or lipstick but are in a powder form.

Also, great job on the eyeshadow Christine! I will be picking up all of the eyeshadows when they go on sale.

Miss Silver Avatar

I would create a collection where each concept adheres to a colour; minimalism in terms of colour for one set to add cohesiveness. For example, I wish to create a collection with a concept, such as (let’s go with a popular one) Peacock. I will select the main colours that are seen in a peacock’s plumage, such as teal, royal blue, and lilac (which can be seen in the plumage of Indian peacocks.) For each colour, I wish to create a mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliners. Each collection will have sets of these, with each set having all products in all the colours. So teal mascara, eyeshadow and liner, blue mascara, shadow and liner, and lilac mascara, shadow and liner. the same thing can be applied to any and all concepts.

Also, I would like to create a range of mascaras; we need more coloured mascara!!!

Helena Avatar

Well, to be honest, having my own whole line of quality products would be a dream come true. But one shadow that I keep looking for (and have found a few likenesses of) is a teal/turquoise with a strong gold duochrome. The color I use now to approximate that is NYX’s Hard Core chrome eyeshadow, but it’s a bit lacking.

vicky Avatar

i would love to have a white duochrome that flashes green, along the lines of vellum, so i could wear it with your new shadow Christine!

Helena Avatar

I haven’t yet tried it myself, but I know TKB Trading sells two different green-duochrome micas (one a smooth shimmer, the other sparkly). Of course, they’re not blended with a base, but you can also buy an eyeshadow base from them! I know of brands that sell interference shadows at a markup because they’re already blended with a base and/or pressed (e.g. NYX).

Diana Avatar

My “drama” eyeshadow would be a MAC veluxe pearl formula. It would start with a mid-level purple, not quite royal purple. It would have a mid level of royal blue and have a low level light glint of gold. I would name it “Haunting” and my inspiration is homage to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in the movie “Cleopatra”.

Kim L Avatar

I have always wanted to create a line of products for women of color on the medium to lighter end of the spectrum. I have found magazine recommendations rarely address this spectrum. I am always between foundation colors as an asian and black mix- too yellow for most, too dark for the rest. So in essence, i always wanted to develop a makeup line for me and several of my friends 🙂

Vale Avatar

I would like to create a cream eyeshadow, just like Chanel Ombre D’Eau, a sort of liquid gloss for eyes, that dry into an e/s with tons of luminosity and a metal finish.
And the colour… the colour is petroleum blue, the definitive petroleum blue, not too green, not too blue, not teal (it’s too light), but a deep dark metallic finish petroleum. I love it! ^^

Definitely create a skin bronzer (Or MSF?) That is multicoloured- pinky/blue flush. Sounds weird, but kind of what like helium pigment by MAC looks on the skin. I like the baby doll kind of shades.

First of all, you’ve done an amazing job with your eyeshadow, Christine : it looks deep and very pigmented but with high shine at the same time. I just hope I will be able to purchase the collection in France!

If I would create my own shade, it would be a dark eyeshadow ESPECIALLY made for smokey eyes, cause I’m a fiend for smokey, no matter the color. I think it would be like the mineralize eyeshadow of Maleficient in the Venomous Villains collection by MAC, but with the texture of a mega metal eyeshadow. You would only have to stretch out the eyeshadow to see the color appear like a shine over the black.

I would creat a box were you can store a full m.a.c. artist. It would live there and then I would feed it and only take it out when I am getting ready…..

Alinda Avatar

It would have to be a nice grey/silver pigment from MAC with a magenta/purple/teal duochrome to it… And when applied wet it would look like an shimmery oilslick on your lids, but no creasing 😀 I would wear it with a nice magenta lip and porcelain-finished skin and a nice hint of pink on the cheeks… Yum Yum

My inspiration is makeup from the 60s. The super-black lined eyes and the super-pale lips. My two fave lipsticks in the whole world have already been created for me actually and they are the MAC Mehr and MAC Yash lipsticks from the MAC Mickey Contractor line.

The best thing about Yash is that it’s a nude/neutral that gives me the paler lip look that I want without me looking like a total freak especailly as I’m an NC44-NC45.

But otherwise I love the pale Bardot, ice cream pink lip from the 60s, and the MAC website once said I could create it by using an NC42 colored concealer (Select Moisturecover), MAC Beurre Cremestick Liner, and the Viva Glam V lipstick.

i’d create a chip proof nail varnish, that would only come off with a special remover. like shellac, but just a regular nail varnish, without uv light.
i’d alson create the PERFECT matt brown eyeshadow…kind of a neutral milk chocolate shade, i have the colour in my mind but haven’t found one that’s exactly like it.

I would probably create my own foundation colour, because despite the best attempts of countless sales associates, I do not fall in the warm category or the cool category, and am firmly planted smack dab in the middle of neutral land. As for colour cosmetics, I would love to create the perfect peachy nude shadow. It’d be similar to Hey! by MAC (MY FAVOURITE EYESHADOW OF ALL TIME), but with less shimmer, more of a natural sheen (like Era I suppose…), and a little more pigmentation to it.
OH and I’d also create the perfect nude, one that isn’t too peachy or too pale. It’d be a creamsheen finish, with NO SPARKLE AT ALL. I despise sparkly lipsticks… gr.

I would do a version of the old MAC lipstick Racy except not a frost maybe a amplified from the holiday set from 2008. Anyone know a dupe?

I would create a line of makeup under MAC that would be for darker skin. Maybe four extended powder foundations, four to five lip sticks, four lip glasses, and a few blushes. I often think many companies don’t cater to darker skin tones but we are here and want to be just as flawless as any other diva!!!

I can never find any cool-toned brown eyeshadows, so I would probably create one, more on the lighter side, with purple duochrome. Kinda like MACs Club, which I love, but it looks too warm on me. That would look really flattering with my green eyes 🙂

I would love a dirty copper cream shadow from Benefit. I have “Birthday Suit” now and it smells like cake! I’ve been trying to find just the right shade of copper for a long time. I’d like it to be really warm to set off my blue eyes, but still have depth!

Can’t we just all get together and create a new brand? Everybody just throws in their ideas and somebody just MAKES it the way we want it to be? That would be a dream.

I wish there was a machine that could scan your face and then create your own MLBB, the perfect coral, red, peach, blue, etc for you. Everyone would have their own perfect customed makeup colors!

This sounds boring, but I would love to create a highlight color with very light shimmer and a pink undertone. Most of the ones I’ve seen are WAAAAAY too shimmery, are yellow-toned, or lean too pink for my liking.

Coco Avatar

I have way to many fanstys of making my own makeup line, or even just a collection for MAC. But a velvety white with pink shimmer/reflects. I would name it Marshmallow!

Id love to create a blush which had a pump/dial feature with tons of different pinks/peaches, etc so that you could turn the dial to any blush shade you’d like. Its kind of silly! Lol but that’d be pretty cool.

Maya Avatar

I’d love to create a rosy Glossimer for Chanel. I know that sounds insanely boring, but it’s be something anyone could wear. I loved the color of Pink Peony from the summer collection, but it was too sheer and didn’t have any oomph so I didn’t buy it. Mine would have more pigment and beautiful shimmer 🙂

I know it sounds incredibly mundane, but I have always dreamed of my own line of mascaras especially for blondes and redheads. Taupe and gold shades, strawberry and light auburn shades. I have blonde eyelashes and fair coloring and even brown mascara can be harsh sometimes. My signature color would be lavender taupe with slight shimmer. I would wear it every day and it would run from my tears of happiness (I despise waterproof mascara).

Courtney Avatar

1) duochrome lipsticks
2) liquid lipsticks like Mac’s kissable lipcolors, but in crazy colors like forest green and royal purple and gunmetal

Sam Avatar

i would want an eyeshadow that had an ultra deep navy blue matte/satin base that flashed different neon colors depending on what angle you looked at it. id name it “insomniac”

badmakeupgirl Avatar

I would make purple eyeshadows/liners that were vegan! Most eyeshadows with pink/red tones in them contain Carmine, so I can’t buy them. I love greens and blues, but I’m missing the girly colours! I’d make my products just like Urban Decay’s Shadows and 24/7s!

A few things!

1. A camouflage eye shadow. One that had different pigments in it that all look similar, but different skin tones and eye colors bring out different pigments in the shadow. It’d be MAC of course! So lets say for example you had light skin and blue eyes. It would come off more gold or brown. But if you had olive skin and brown or hazel eyes, it would come off more of a golden green. (:

2. A camouflage lipstick or gloss. Same concept!

3. A camouflage nail polish! In different shades. The pink one would turn different shades of pink depending on skin color. Same w blue, purple, red, etc.

4. Design nail polish. Nail stickers, in a bottle! Like if you wanted to paint your nails like a zebra or cheetah, you’d pick up the bottle that had that pattern inside (it would appear that way in the bottle), and then put it on your nail. If its possible to do it like that then just that. If not, a separator coat to make the spots or stripes come out.(:
