Dior Summer 2011: Rosy Tan (754) Eyeshadow Palette

Dior Rosy Tan (754) Eyeshadow Palette ($58.00 for 0.21 oz.) is the companion quint to Rosy Nude–they read almost day and night to me. They’re similar yet not the same. Rosy Tan is darker and deeper overall, but it also has cooler undertones.

The top left shade is a lightened cotton candy pink with subtle blue undertones and a white shimmered finish. To the right of that shade, there is a dark, burgundied brown with a satin sheen. On the bottom right, we have a dirty, bronzy brown with a reflective, metallic sheen. Beside it, there is a soft, rose-tinted beige brown with a pearled finish. In the center, there is a brightened pink-tinged white with a shiny, metallic finish. I found the rosy beige to be just a hair sheer, while the center shade was a touch sheerer than that, though both still had good color pay off (think about the difference between good and excellent–noticeable but not necessarily a deal breaker).

Does anyone know a good dupe of that rose tinted beige?
I love that color, but dont want to fork out that money for the palette for just that eyeshadow.

Hi Christine!
Both of the dior palettes look amazing!
but what would you recommend for warmer girls which has light to medium skin tones?
Thanks in advance!

I bought this a week ago & have been wearing it everyday. I don’t find it to be too dramatic for daytime, it’s all how you apply it 🙂 I love love love it!

Those expiry dates are just what the manufacturer puts on there to prevent themselves from getting sued if you get an eye infection. Testing is done in worst-case scenarios, like 95 % humidity and 100 degrees for six months and there is some degradation of the product. I would not take it very seriously at all. I’ve got eyeshadows from the 1970s that are still fine….

I’m with you! I still have some Chanel Quads from the early-mid 90’s that I still use. They are so highly pigmented that a little goes a very long way and I’m not about to pitch em in the trash. They still wear beautifully and I’ve (knock wood) never had and eye infection!

As long as you wash your applicators periodically, it should be fine for quite some time. You can also remove the top layer if you’re leery because it’s been sitting for awhile.

That’s the main reason why people really adhere to mascara expiration, because you grab the wand, sweep it right by your eyes, and stick it directly into the product afterwards.

It looks really nice, but I find it a bit too shimmery… I have Spring 2011 eyeshadow palettes, and that’s the problem I find with it. I can only use them for night because of the shimmer, for day I prefer matte e/s. Anyway, I think I will be getting Aurora or Sunset from this collection, I’m just waiting for it to arrive to Mexico.

Though I already own 3 of the dupes you mentioned, I want this! I think it’s beautiful for Spring and Summer and I love the idea of have them all in one palette for traveling purposes. Love these richer tones as opposed to the nudes….which would blend right into my skintone.
