When I’m really tempted on the collection or I heard it’s a really good product.
I set myself a boundary of every month. So each month I get to splurge a $200 makeup haul…which isn’t much, but it keeps me from overspending too much.
Any time I feel the urge…to SPLURGE! hehehe
I can rarely buy “just a few things” so whenever I want something new, which is often, I end up with a lot of [expensive] stuff.
Ditto here! 🙂
If it’s a MAC collection I really like, I will easily spend $400/up on it.
Since I love a lot of LE stuff in general, I have to buy them as they come otherwise (and with my luck), they will be sold out and/or discontinued later on.
I am not so “tight budgedted” with beauty products as I used to be. To me, they are an investment in myself as a person, and therefore, very important (that’s my justification anyways,LOL)!
I’m like you Macaddict – my thoughts exactly! I splurge all the time…so then is it still considered splurging or is it just an obsession… ;-P
None of the above: Beauty common sense I say! ;-P
To be completely honest I consider any MAC purchasing a splurge. I think that a lot of people on this board buy a lot, and so maybe if we all hang out here we sort of lose sight of like… how expensive this makeup really is! Or maybe I’m just really thrify, who knows!
The most I’ve even spent on a haul was 137$, but that was the day with the 15% off so it would have been more haha! And I did it because I always am rushing to the new collections that I forget to take the time to check out their regular stock and buy the basics (like neutral lip liners, prep n prime, etc) So I took it as an opportunity to stock up on some perhaps-not-so-exciting neutrals and basics!
i’m with you. I’m down to spending about $30 a month tops on beauty nowadays it always feels like a splurge! Used to spend maybe $200 a month but I have a big collection at this point, like I’ve pretty much reached a lipstick saturation point, so I don’t need much more.
At least twice a month I’ll spend more than $200, which isn’t that bad actually… Last time I was at a counter I spent just over $100 (sheer minerals and “red” she said), I’d spent about $40 online (2 pearl glide liners that sold out in my stores) a few days before, and about 2 weeks before that I spent over $100 again on Suite Array and Cremesheen. Can’t help myself! Whenever I want something, I get it. Unless it’s permanent. Then I wait for my next purchase that maybe isn’t quite as high.
It’s my inner devil-been suppressed so long that it suddenly explodes and causes devlish sins. kidding. I spent over $3000 for limited edition makeup and the normal cosmetics in the past 5 months. I felt so bad for myself that this has made me penniless and in debt.
Not to mention, a lot of the purchases I either tossed away or gave it to people because 1)did NOT live up to my expectation 2)didn’t compliment my skin tone 3)pure gimmicks. I should have listened to my mom. 🙁
HOLY MOLLY!
GOSH!
I LIKE TO SPLURGE ABOUT 30 BUCKS A MONTH…A NEW EYESHADOW(RECENTLY ODD COUPLE) OR THE LATEST MASCARA(LAST MONTH, BAD GAL LASH) …..BUT LADIES LADIES! OHH MY!
I just got hooked with Cle De Peau’s Extra Silky Lipstick, I’m in Canada so they’re $60 a pop and I don’t even wear lipstick. In my moment of insanity, I picked up 10 in a haul!
Why?
I’m still wondering why, but I love them, and I just have to keep telling myself I’m worth it.
OMG all the time. Permanent or limited edition. Now I have a little more self control. The last beauty splurge was because of a wedding.
As often as I want.No limits.No boundries.
I rarely splurge.
Seriously, maybe once every six months, and for maybe one thing, if I have extra cash, lol. 🙂
