Summer Look with Wet 'n' Wild
Summer Look with Wet ‘n’ Wild
Another test look — Clarins Skin Illusion (the shade is too light but setting with Guerlain Les Violettes in #03 made it wearable for test purposes, at least), NYX Eyeshadow Base, Wet ‘n’ Wild Vanity Eyeshadow Palette, Physicians Formula Glow Pearls, and Guerlain Chant d’Aromes.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: NYX Eyeshadow Base (base), Wet ‘n’ Wild Vanity Eyeshadow Palette (shimmering beige, gold, bronze, beige, dark brown), span style=”color: #9d4b7b;”>Wet ‘n’ Wild Olive Color Icon Eyeliner (olive green), Hourglass Film Noir Mascara (black)
- Face: Clarins Skin Illusion (108), Guerlain Les Violettes Mineral Powder (03)
- Cheeks: Physicians Formula Light Bronze Pearl Mineral Glow Pearls (bronze)
- Lips: Guerlain Chant d’Aromes (103) Rouge Automatique (rosy pink)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 222 (fluffy crease brush), 184 (fan brush)
For eyes, start by applying NYX as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 294. Apply the shimmering beige eyeshadow to the inner tearduct with the 217. Next, apply the gold eyeshadow just above the lid and in the crease with the 239. Lightly blend the bronze eyeshadow into the crease with the 222, blending outwards, then layer with the dark brown eyeshadow. Pat the beige eyeshadow lightly above the crease and highlight the brow bone with the 217. Apply Stash liner on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Film Noir mascara.
For cheeks, apply Light Bronze Pearl on the apples of the cheeks and pat towards the temple with the 184.
For lips, apply Chant d’Aromes lipstick for a complementing lip.
Love the eyes! It looks like you just got 24 hours of beauty sleep!
Thank ya! 🙂
soooo beautiful! i love this look christine!
Thanks, Abby!
Lovely! This is so helpful since I have this palette. 🙂
Thank you, Stephanie! 🙂
You are looking especially lovely today!
Thanks a lot, Christine!
I can’t get over how gorgeous your hair is! How often do you use heat styling on it? It looks so healthy and shiny!
Rarely – my hair is so thick and long, it’s too much of a pain to style it!
You look ultra pretty!!
Thanks, Neha!
wow,you are definetely glowing, and i loved your hair too:)
Thanks a lot, SNM!
It’s too nude for me.
But I like it for you.
Thank you, Lara!
loooooooooooooooooooove love
Thanks, Jaz!
Wow! You look absolutely stunning, Christina!
Thank you, Charnell!
I really like the lighting/setting you used for the picture. Plus the makeup is flattering 🙂
Thanks, Michelle! I broke a lens this weekend and had to make do with an older camera.
Aww, that sucks. That’s why it’s good to have a backup!
Ooooh so nice!!!! Love the cheeks!!
Thank you, Andrea!
This is a nice spring look. Btw, I bought Coat Azure today and I am going to swatch it right now. 🙂
Thanks, Chris! Hope you love it!
I just bought the Clarins Skin Illusion foundation the other day, after using samples for a week or 2. I love it – it is so light and natural. 108 is the shade I wanted but it’s not available in Canada (I had to go to the US to get that shade in the Everlasting formulation last year). Well, I got the lighter shade but what’s interesting is that it’s almost the same colour as the 108 in the Everlasting formula. While Skin Illusion does rub off easily (when I wipe my nose!), it applies beautifully – almost like a tinted moisturizer – and I really like it.
I’m glad you’re liking it and the shade ended up working! 🙂
You look really beautiful on the last picture!!!! 🙂
Thank you, Stephanie!
Looks pretty & simple! This reminds me that I need to purchase a new Stash liner. It was the first UD 24/7 liner I fell in love with. 🙂
I hope you’ll be reviewing the NYX and Wet ‘n Wild products…? Can’t wait.
Thanks Katie!
That blush is gorgeous on you. I also like the way your hair looks here!
Thank you so much, Vijaya! 🙂
I love the whole face picture of you! So pretty.
Thank you, Amanda!
I have to agree that you look extra pretty in this picture!
Thanks, Marian!
This look is fantastic!! Especially at a fraction of the price of most cosmetics.
I wish there were more places to buy Wet N Wild around me. Wal-Mart seems to be the only place that carries it but it’s far. I remember when W&W was one of the more popular drugstore brands!
Funny enough but my Walmart didn’t have it at all, no displayer for Wet ‘n’ Wild!
WOW – no headband?! Your hair looks so beautiful! Great look!
Thanks a lot!
Really love this one 🙂
Thank you, Emily!
Okay so at first glance I read NYX as e.l.f (I have no idea why…. lol brain) and I was like, “whaaaa? Doesn’t e.l.f publish pictures of Christine without her permission?”
I got a little nervous there!
Such a shame, you know! Every time I think about reviewing some of the e.l.f. products I have, they do something and then it’s all mucked up again. At least the first time they eventually apologized, but nothing happened this time!
wait what did elf do? I was considering buying stuff buy Christine>Elf.
They used an image of my eye (with makeup on it) in their newsletter–even though I didn’t use e.l.f. products and they didn’t acknowledge, credit, or ask for permission to use it (because the newsletter was essentially advertising/marketing their products). It took about 8 weeks before I was able to get them to do anything about it (at that point, just an apology). But more recently, I had some readers email me about e.l.f. using two images of my eye on their website on a couple of their beauty tips. Businesses should know better and pay a couple bucks for stock images rather than just taking them off the internet without credit or permission!
I don’t know if this is the case with E.L.F., but many wordpress blogs have an automatic function that searches the web for images that match the text. You don’t know (often) where they come from, but they are presumed to be public access. If you have images of your eyes available publicly in this way, ELF has probably used the same program – and so would not be able to credit accordingly. (Besides, the model doesn’t get compensated for the re-use of photos. The photographer, as owner of the copyright, does.)
It’s E.L.F.’s responsibility to properly obtain photographs – they are a business. I’m both the model and photographer of the photo, so I own the rights to all my work. They’ve done twice – once in their newsletter, again on their website. After being confronted, they still have removed the images – and that’s an even bigger issue than failure to actually spend a few bucks for stock photography for your commercial endeavor.
that’s one of the best looks you’ve posted!
Thanks!
You are just super cute!
Can’t wait for the rest of the Guerlian Rouge Automatique reviews, that colour is particularly lovely!
Thank you, CeeBee! 🙂
You look radiant in this picture! 😉
Thanks, Amalee!
Hi, I love that you used drug-based makeup in this one for us who can’t afford the expensive stuff!
oh, you look so pretty! why is this pic so different – good different? different camera angle? whatevet it is – you look pretty!
It’s blurry and using an old camera – I actually think it looks so much worse! The lighting is poor and it lacks sharpness.
I was gonna say the same thing about this pic, you shot it at a different angle and it shows more of you. I would agree that the lighting could have been better. ( I dabble in photography, so I know about being picky about light and I myself am very picky LOL) Sorry just had to join the comment party. 🙂 I love the look though, you inspire me to want to play with bronzes more. I always hated them when I was younger because I thought browns and bronzes were boring and “mom like” and because there was a certain group of girls when I was in high school that made browns a little scary….
I love this look. You’re gorgeous!
Thanks, Stephanie Marie!
nah, you look great no matter what camera. i am absolutely loving the mascara!!!
Man, Christine, I can’t get over how beautiful your eyes are! Nonetheless, great look!
Love the look especially the new portrait shot! 🙂 u look beautiful!
Wow, great neutral look, but something about you is different, did you gain weight? No offense, you look beautiful.
I’m the same weight I was yesterday, the week before, and six months before…
you are looking super adorable here Christine 😀 😀
and for once i will say thank you god your lens broke … sorry honey
but i loved loved loved the old camera pic …
may be you are the best person but i so feel you are looking super duper cute here 😀 😀
I’m really sad it does – hundreds of dollars wasted 🙁 I’d rather that than one good photo, lol! (Which I think is terrible myself – I almost didn’t post this look at all, because I felt it was so subpar!)
ohh god thats why i said you are the best person … 🙁 🙁
but once again you are looking like doll here 😀 😀
you always look but this is so special for me that i came back again to see 😀 😀
great look christine! will u by any chance review the fit me line(maybeline) since u r reviewing some drugstore brands? let me know! love readin ur reviews!
thanks!
This is one of the most stunning looks of the more natural ones I’ve seen you post! I have to get this palette now, as in first thing tomorrow, to try to recreate it!
Thank you, Jayne!
I love your look, natural but glowing!!! What’s your opinion on the Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation? I got a sample on a magazine last week and I liked it quite as much as to give it a pair of “purchasing thoughts”… Amazingly enough, the shade I was provided with was 111, which I expected to be much darker than my skintone, but it melted really well, not very yellow neither too rosy, and definitely not as if my face had spent more time at the beach than the rest of my body, and giving me also a bit of that “natural glow” that I see on your face… It would be quite interesting to see it on the foundation matrix…
OMG!!!
Your eyes are the coolest eyes i’ve ever seen!!!!
