Any recommendations on some good red drugstore lipsticks? I have a friend that wants me to help her pick out some tomorrow but I don’t know of any good brands!

Not a lipstick, but a lipstain- I recently picked up the Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain in the Scarlet Pucker shade (#402) is a pretty good drug store red! 🙂

L’Oreal HIP in Turbulent and Infallible in Beyonce Red (for longwear). The Beyonce one is more of a tomato red, but it lasts amazingly well.
Loreal Infalliable compact in Target Red. Lovely. Wore it for my wedding. 🙂

I cannot wear red 🙁 Seriously… I’m an NC20 with bad yellow tones (blonde hair/hazel or gold eyes depending on the day) and every single red I have ever tried looks awful on me 🙁 SO sad! I am not joking- my friends laugh about it all the time. I’ve tried orange-based, blue-based, yellow-based, neutral, all of it… The only thing that works ok is something like Illamasqua’s Follow, where it’s a mix of fuschia and red, with more pink in it than red.
SO depressing! 🙁
Oh Heather, it’s so good to hear that someone other than myself has this problem. Whew… I thought I was the only one. I’ve gotten so tired of trying out reds that I finally just quit. Although…. the Guerlain Rough G Gwen looks awfully tempting.

Does anyone know what kind of lipstick Liz Lee from ‘My Life as Liz” wears on MTV? I adore that color but no such luck when I’ve googled it. It looks matte and maybe as if she lines her lips with brown before applying? Any tips/tricks to get her lip look would be appreciated!

I have no idea – haven’t heard. It looks like a really ultra matte red lip – possibly a bit blue-based. It reminds me of Viva Glam I and Ruby Woo mixed.

Illamasqua Sangers, MAC Red Pepper, and MAC Chared Red are my fave reds at the moment with the MAC VG I following close behind. But strangely enough I haven’t bought the Red Pepper lipstick from the MAC Pro shop yet! They were out of stock of it for a while and weirdly enough THAT’S what led me to the Illamasqua Sangers lipstick! Because the Illamasqua shop was just a little way down the next street from the MAC Pro shop. LOL
Dragon and Sangers will be mine come pay day! I really don’t need anymore reds, but damn! Too beautiful!
Why, a girl can never have too many red lipcolor, I believe.
My current favorite is 120 Rouge Insolence from Guerlain KissKiss Extreme line, which is a deeper true red. I especially adore it layered with MUFE #21. It is discontinued, though, so I’m looking into finding a dupe. >:

My fave reds are MAC Charred Red (I need to go to the Pro store and replenish my supply) and Revlon Super Lustrous in Mulled Wine. I have been wearing MW since 2007. 🙂

Lol, I have all these except for illamasqua (Cause they don’t sell it in Canada). Whenever I try a new brand I always try a red lipstick first.
I love Urban Decay Revolution lipstick, it´s really opaque but it has a glossy finish absolutely gorgeous! Also, it lasts more on my lips than the MAC matte lipsticks I´ve got, but it´s not so drying, it´s much more moisturizing!
I’ve been eyeing Sangers for a while. Now I know it’s your favorite, I REALLY want it. xD
I want to wear this red…but ugh..Red made me looks too naughty..
