How do you use cream eyeshadows in your looks?
How do you use cream eyeshadows in your looks? How do you incorporate them? Do you avoid them?
I use them either as a quickie one-shadow kind of look, and then I tend to go for beiges or golds and just blend past the crease so it fades, or as an eyeshadow base.

I’m just the same, Christine. 8)
Quick one-shadow looks (neutral colours) or eyeshadow bases!
I do essentially the same thing, except I don’t go past the crease (I never do for eyeshadow; I find it looks unnatural). I also never use cream shadows as a base since they tend to clog up my powder shadow brushes.
I also like how I can use a darker shade (taupe or pewter), but blend it enough so it looks natural.
I just cant find a way t make them work..they keep creasing on me so badly
Only the paint pots under powder shadow to keep it on for longer.
I second that Christine! As a base, as an eye shadow on the lid, and if it’s a lighter color like MAC Barestudy paint pot I use that as a highlighter from time to time.
I still haven’t found a cream eyeshadow that doesn’t crease on me unless I use a powder on top, so I tend to just use them as bases.
I use them as bases. I have oily skin so don’t really like to use just a cream shadow with nothing over it.
i either use it has a base…or if i woke up late then i swipe it on my eyes for an easy goo..my favorite are benefits creaseless creame shadows… =)
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a good cream eyeshadow to use all over the lid for everyday. Any recommendations? Thanks so much temptalia readers!
MAC Bare study and Benefit RSVP are my favorites when Im in a hurry. Sweep either one all over your lid and you’re good to go!
I like to use them as bases. I put down my eye shadow primer as normal, then put down a cream eye shadow (like MUFE turquoise) on the lid, then put another aqua/teal powder shadow on top.
depending on the color, i’ll use a brush and smudge it in my lower lashline for a pop of color!
I primarily use them as bases for my other eyeshadows! I love Mac Paintpots because they don’t crease so they can be worn alone.
I <3 Cream shadows! I love the finish they give! My faves are Paint Pots especially in Rubrnsque and Nyx jumbo eye pencils tho they crease a little
I use the strong ones as a base or avoid them. I don’t know I’ve just never been fond of them!
I use them as eyeshadow bases – so far I’ve stuck mostly to neutrals in different finishes but I recently got Benefit Creaseless Cream in Gossip to go under my purple shadows and I love the way it deepens and enhances the powder shades – and makes them last way longer!
I’ve also round that really shimmery ones (eg, Benefit RSVP) makes a very subtle highlighter when used under foundation and powder. Just a hint peeks through and looks very natural and glowy – I just swipe and blend across the tops of my cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose, temples, brow arch and cupids bow, let it set and then apply foundation, etc as normal.
only this year have i ventured into creams and I tend to just use them as a base. good sticky adhesive for my beloved shadows 🙂
Only as a base. I don’t like wearing cream anything without setting it with a powder. I’m a fan of paint pots and NYX jumbo eye pencils
I use them as bases or as a shadow. It depends where the mood takes me.
Christine, how do you apply your cream shadows? I’ve always applied my Bobbi Brown ones with my fingers. Do you use a brush?
249!
I only use cream shadows as base.
I use cream eyeshadows as bases for my pressed eyeshadows and on days where I don’t have time for a full eyeshadow look, I wear it as a lid color blended out to my crease and eyeshadow under my brow and out of the door I go.
as an allover primer to make the powder shadow appear more pigmented, below the crease, or in the tear duct!
Definately as a base! =)
Hi Christine what is ur fav cream eyeshadow? Lately i’ve been into Benefit’s creaseless cream eyeshadows! I love skinny jeans! Birthday suit it gorgeous but I get glitter fall out. Does that happen to you? I also use a primer…
Benefit’s 🙂 I didn’t find I got any fall out though 🙁
I use them mostly for quick one-shadow looks, the dark I use for very vampy smokey eyes, I rarely use them as a base for powder eyeshadows as I always use Urban decay primer potion for that.
I use them as a base leaving some exposed on the inner corner, usually.
