Give us your feedback!

Tell us how we’re doing!

From time to time, we ask for your feedback on how we’re doing here at Temptalia, and with the new year off and running, we would like to take this time to gather your insights on where we should focus ourselves and do more of what you want in 2011.

Specific feedback or suggestions are the most helpful, as is constructive feedback.  We want to know what we do well, what we need to do more of (or less of), and where we can improve.  We want to know how we can make Temptalia better for you.

Take our survey!

If the survey below does not show for you, you can take it directly here.

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I feel bad for any even very slightly negative comments because I love the site so much. i’d to think hard for some minimal constructive criticism! I’m sure you will take it in the manner intended!

I think you do a great job! your swatches are really SO SO helpful. your reviews are also very informative. I wish I could think of some suggestions for improvement but I honestly can’t think of anything.

Julia Avatar

I personally don’t like the idea of guest reviews. The quality of Temptalia– image quality, lighting, consistency– is top notch. I’d hate to see that change.

I THINK IS THE BEST BEAUTY BLOG. HANDS DOWN LOVE TEMPTALIA.COM I CAN ALWAYZ COUNT ON THIS BLOG TO HELP ME FIND GOOD OR BAD REVIEWS ON ANY BEAUTY PRODUCTS, I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED SWATCHES. COLLECTIONS REALEASE ANYTHING LOVE CHRISTINE

lily Avatar

Perhaps do more reviews on drugstore brands (loreal, maybelline, revlon), especially when they release their seasonal collections. I love your reviews but I find that except for the random NYX reviews, there aren’t very many items for people who can’t necessarily afford the expensive department store brands.

Temptalia is my favourite site! I only found it 4 months ago and now come on everyday. I live in rural England UK and 3 hours drive from Mac, as such I order all my products online and never get to swatch or test. Temptalia swatches all new collections days sometimes even weeks before availability this helps me make up my mind on what i want to buy. Its funny because I make one list when I here the collection products but after seeing temptalias swatches and reviews this always changes and I have never been disapointed with a purchase. For someone like me it is invaluable! I think Christine is doing an invaluable job!

(forgot to add) would love to see more cool tone swatches for eyes & lips (if convenient). warms look awesome on you but sadly not as good on me sometimes, more mix of warms/neutrals (skin/cheeks) & cools (eyes/lips)

anonymous Avatar

you pick a lot of lip shades with a slight orange/brown tone and I think warmer purple-plum, I only notice because I have to avoid those or it gives me an odd oompa loopma look lol.

I spent a lot of years trying to figure out warm/cool before I realized I had to go warmish foundation/blush but more cool lip & eye and some weird way it balances out. blue helps so I wear a lot of blue liner etc. I suggested MUFE HD 11 because it’s a warm blush that’s ok for evening on me but would look fab on you and Berry Rich lipstick because somehow it manages to hit the line and flatter either. I wore it for years in high school & college and got tons of compliments. (and then forgot it for a decade)

I love Temptalia for the amazing coverage you do of new and old products. But what I really found helpful were your lipstick series.Something similar with blush or eyeshadows would be so helpful!

Mavis Avatar

Forgot to add this in the survey but I just wanted to say I appreciate everything that you do Christine! Thanks so so so so so much for the great quality swatches and detailed reviews. Don’t ever let any haters get you down 🙂

I command you on how great your blog has become. It is my number one go to blog these days. The amount of time and effort that you put into reviews and posts is trully commendable!!! I always check your swatches before I order new mac collections. As a matter of fact without your reviews and swatches I would have to wait for mac collections to come out to know what i want and by then it is too late a lot of times. Other brand reviews are also so helpfull to me. I go through a lot of blogs and websites and ypou my dear are the best, my favorite! and i know I am not alone!!@!!!!!@!@!@!@!@

Malia Avatar

Also filled out your survey! One thing I forgot is I love hearing your opinions on the temptalia asks you…but I would also like to know your picks/feelings on the rant & raves and the polls 🙂

MADEIN1985 Avatar

I answered your survey!

You’re a one-woman make up google. & you almost always reply to comments! I don’t know how you do it.

My main point that I want to say is, I’d like to see more of the make up ‘in use’ (as opposed to just swatches.) They’re so so helpful, but I think it’s more enjoyable seeing you use them, since that’s what initially brought you to where you are now – using & enjoying make up!

You’ve stopped that I’ve noticed. I haven’t seen any looks/tutorials recently!

Christine Avatar

I stopped because it did not seem like that was what readers wanted – there was a decrease in comments (overall) and increase in complaints, so we reduced them greatly as we did not want to bombard readers with posts they did not want! 🙂

Ana G. Avatar

Oh, please start to post some more look tutorials, they are soooo helpful. It’s like MADEIN1985 says, I like to see how you combine and use the products, because you have impeccable taste and a great eye for combining colors 🙂

Marissa Avatar

Christine, were those complaints on the video or the photo tutorials? I was never a big fan of the video tutorials, but I LOVED the photo tutorials. 🙂

lissa Avatar

I really hope you didn’t think I was complaining about the video tutorials or photo ones because I really like them both, especially eye makeup which you rock at and I kinda need work. I just know those take up so much time and your poor eyes swell and I feel like we’re being selfish if we get too many. But they’re always loved when you do them, as long as they’re not infringing on you having a good time too. I spend too much time on Temptalia and get too much out of it not to appreciate the woman behind it & want her to be happy too. You have the prettiest eye tutorials of any blogger (shh on that! no hurt feelings to the others, just like your skill & sense of style best). I can’t enjoy a look though if I know it ruined your New Year’s.

sam Avatar

yea we love love love your looks…that way even if i dont like a swatch of a product example an eyeshadow, and then see it on your eyes or something it makes me wana goo run and buy it and recreate that look. Please do them again if u can 🙂

Channing Avatar

I agree I don’t know If I’d necessarily like to see more tutorials but maybe more tips and “secrets” on technique and application. IE everyone talks about pigments but how do you mix them with mixing medium to apply? You don’t necessarily have to answer that specific question it’s just an example.

lissa Avatar

we all love Christine’s looks & tutorials, I think it was hard for us to keep up with the MAC overload and tough to make time for holiday, family, school, relaxing and MU. I know Christine was on all evening Christmas eve or NYE or both because I watched the posts go up right til near midnight. hopefully she gets to catch her breath before the spring & as always we love the posts and I think many simply don’t want her feeling overloaded. Very thoughtful and considerate blogger.

lissa Avatar

I absolutely noticed Christine. I can vouch for the whole time span. If you ever needed a reference for your dedication I could certainly attest to the superhuman effort and sacrifices made to get the blog perfect for your guests. Many bloggers shut down mostly or completely but you made magic with MAC’s rather inconsiderately timed releases. & it was past 11 I think not 10. I spent the holidays alone so I was sort of watching people pop on and off but you were on constantly and post after flawless post. I certainly hope others noticed too but I was amazed. And hated the idea that makeup was taking you away from family on the holidays. It’s too precious and we can lose them. That was when I suggested cutting down on some of the stuff, so you didn’t burn out or miss out. It’s not selfish to take time for yourself, be a kind boss and let the employee have fun. 🙂

Cindy Avatar

Wow I appreciate this website so much more because of you sacrificiing your free time. But, you should always take time for yourself. You work so hard on this website and all of your readers appreciate it. I knowI am constantly turning to it for swatches. The only thing I was hoping (not sure how possible it is) but I was wondering if you could gather a team of swatchers or guest swatchers that could do swatches/looks for different skin tones, ie. light, medium (you), and dark skin tones so that those who are not your skin tone could get more assistance with swatches. I am NW 35 in MAC and I’ve always had the ahrdest time knowing what will work on my skin because the majority of people whom I watch or read their blogs are much lighter or much darker than I am. I have never found somebody who is within the medium dark range

Thank you so much, Christine! My friend and I both REALLY appreciate all of the hard work you put into your site! We spend a lot of New Year’s Day pouring over your photos and deciding what to purchase! We both had been saving for and looking forward to the collection for months. And since the nearest MAC is really far away, we had to order most of our products online. Your photos and swatches were so helpful when it came down to picking which items to purchase! (I took away 9 shadows, 4 lip colors; She got 13 shadows, 6 lip colors!) Thank you so so so so so much!!!!!

Christine Avatar

Can you please tweet a link for all the blog posts, as that is how I follow your blog. I don’t want to miss any of your posts. Thanks for all your hard work.

I just love your site, keep up the good work!
I absolutely love the foundation matrix but the dupe list sometimes does not work it seems a little slow at times, but maybe that is just my computer

GabbyT Avatar

Christine, I have never commented before but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all the work you do in reviewing all of these products. I don’t think I have bought a beauty item in the last 9 months that you haven’t reviewed positively (Well except for DiorShow because I still love it!) So I just wanted to give you a big THANK YOU!

Megan Avatar

Christine, you mention fewer comments on your photos of looks. I don’t often comment but I do appreciate everything that you do on here. As Madein1985 says, you reply to virtually every comment – and there’s only so many times you can say thank you for the comments about how great you look! So maybe people are leaving fewer comments to save you time, but also because no-one really wants to repeat what other people are saying again and again. Does that make sense?!
I think you’re doing a great job and your dedication to this site totally impresses me 🙂

Teresa Avatar

First and foremost I just want to say that I love your site! I don’t comment very much, but I really appreciate all your hard work! What I really liked is when you had pictures of lipsticks (mac) and posted a picture of how each looked on you that was really helpful. I would like to see that more (if possible)once again thank you for all your wonderful reviews…oh and could you please add more Bare Escentual reviews..I don’t see them very often on here. Thank you so much for your time.
