Hard to Find: Dior Czarina Gold Nail Lacquer

Dior Czarina Gold Nail Lacquer ($21.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is a deep, dark molten chocolate brown with flecks of green, antique gold, and gold shimmer. The shimmer comes in various sizes, so it has more depth and interest in the color. Two coats was perfect, though it was almost opaque in just one pass. Dior polish wears a full week on me (with a base/top coat) with minimal tip wear. The closest dupe I can come up with is China Glaze’s Wagon Trail, which seems to have more uniformly sized shimmer.

FINAL THOUGHTS: I can see why this sold out–the quality is lovely, but the shade itself is gorgeous on both cool and warm skin tones, and the combination itself is very winter and holiday-esque without being the traditional bling-tastic gold.

Hey Christine…not sure if you will know the answer to this or not BUT…I’ve been looking for the Dior Gris City Collection and can’t find it anywhere! I’m in Denver so I doubt they would have it here but not even online?!?! Any suggestions? BTW – this is a great color!

No unfortunately not. My understanding is that it’s a limited 3 set polish collection….but thanks for checking! I emailed you the site I found swatches from….

Hi Christine! Do you happen to know if this collection will be at Sephora! I’m actually wanting the grey polish and on the Nordstrom website it says “Nordstrom exclusive” Thank you:)

I was thrilled to get this polish in October when I pre-ordered it from Nordie’s. I’m usually not a fan of brown polish but this one is so pretty. BTW the Gris Gris nail polishes are available on Dior.com.

i don’t know how great of a dupe this is but i have a drugstore nail polish by sally hansen called sequin scandal. i wore it for a week with essie’s base & top coat with minimal tip wear. i work in a garage so i use my hands a lot so they do go through hell (my fingers get pinched between tires for cars)

Hey Christine! I actually have another dupe for you for this one. 212-SEPHORA from OPI’s Sephora line is actually quite similar, but the chunkier bronze glitters makes it different 🙂

I bought this colour yesterday after seeing your swatches. I’ve never bought nail polish over $10, but I think this is worth it. It’s going to be interesting because I usually don’t wear such dark colours on my nails, but there’s a first for everything. Oh and I was also the last one to get it.
