I love Tarte Shape Tape (there’s a learning curve, though, and if you are drier, it might not work as well). I also use Cle de Peau and Shiseido’s cream concealers (the ones in a twist-up tube) along with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye.

Christine, Can you explain the learning curve with Shape Tape? Or anyone else?
It’s mostly in what brush/tools apply it best, how much to use, etc. – it is pigmented and drier (I wouldn’t say dry, but it isn’t moisturizing or watery like NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, as an example).
I also really like Shape Tape. It is quite pigmented and dries quickly, so I use just a tiny bit and only do one area of the face at a time, rather than dotting it on everywhere I want it then blending. But I typically use concealer that way, so I didn’t feel like there was a steeper than usual learning curve – ymmv of course!
Cargo Blu Ray (I think that’s the name – it’s in the clicky tube with little holes), Clarins Instant Concealer and IT Bye Bye Undereye (it’s a wee bit tricky but if you can make it work for you, it’s great). Honourable mention to MAC Pro Longwear, though it can emphasize under eye lines (even if you don’t have ’em).
Shape Tape is at the very top of my list to try out after I finish up my Bye Bye Undereye, which I found way too thick and sticky (and terrible shade selection!). I have no recommenadations- still on he hunt for the perfect product!
Always on the hunt. Shape Tape looked too yellow, but it oxidized redder on my hand, so it seemed possible. Then I cosdna’d it and had to rule it out! Boooo. Right now, it’s eve pearl with the Becca brightener. (Sandwiched between fab triple duty and TM/bb/foundation. The IT looks like gray clay, though I like the formula, requires too much color tweaking. KVD and UD: too yellow. CFX: ok, but I like their other products better, so it seems weak to me. NarsCreamy? Maybe, but haven’t tried it enough to buy it. Will avidly be reading the answers on this one.

I’m still on the hunt. Lancome was my go to in my 20’s, I forget the name but it worked great. Then I don’t know if it’s drier skin or if the formulation changed but it started settling and moving and cracking. F that. Then I went to NARS RCC and am happy with it but I think I need Vanilla. Chantilly is better for blemishes on my face. Over veins it’s looking a little grey.
My all time favorite is BY TERRY Terrybly Densiliss Concealer. It is perfect for mature dry skin. I have tried several and nothing beats this product. It is expensive, but so worth it.
By far MUFE Ultra HD. An elegant formulation, not drying, wide colour selection beautiful to apply. A joy to use. I would never have used those words about any previous concealer.
Am I the only one who thinks concealer shouldn’t be a trial to figure out? My current favorite is Bare Minerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer, the liquid, for my undereye area, and Bare Minerals Concealer Broad Spectrum powder for blemishes and minor discolorations.
Sorry, I HATE Tarte Shape Tape – it hunts down and magnifies fine lines that you normally can’t even see on me I’m not dry at all either. It also creases on me during wear. It does work pretty well though for a cut crease, which I seldom do. My fav undereye is Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen.
I’m always searching for the next best thing when it comes to concealer, but i recently picked up the dior star and LOVE it!
Nars radiant creamy concealer. I love to use this with the LM secret camouflage.

I use multiple shades – I think light, light-medium, and medium?
MAC Prep + Prime in Radiant Rose, which is light coverage. I also use
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer which has more coverage.
I set both of these with ELF under eye setting powder which is a great product at a tiny price.
Wish the Canadian Sephora stores sold it and had testers. Not wanting to buy online from Tarte as there is no way to test.

Except there’s no ULTA stores in Canada. Like I said, no way to ‘test’. 🙂
I’m never satisfied with concealer. I do use a lot of it. On bare skin over moisturizer I start with a little Amazing Concealer. Then after foundation I add the current combo of Nars radiant creamy concealer and a touch of Becca undereye brightening corrector. It’s smooth, it looks nice, I think. Not too much of any one thing, but the layering gives me the finish I want without being too thick.
Concealers are the absolute worst. Throw in bags, lines, shade, color, coverage and dryness — and it’s a freaking nightmare. I mix and layer, too. I stopped looking for a HG years ago.
Never surrender! It’s massively discouraging, but think how thrilled you would be with the right combo. Take a rest, then persevere! I’ve been on the hunt for about ~50 years, and now have allergies that rule vast numbers out. If I can find one, surely you can.
I did like the colour and the consistency of the Shape Tape, but oh jeez the fragrance!! SO strong, and it never seemed to fade, I just couldn’t bear it. Such a shame!

I’ve been using IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye for quite some time now and like it. Always looking for the next great thing though. Cle De Peau’s price has discouraged me from trying.
Cle de Peau is amazing. Yes, I know it’s pricey – but a single tube lasts a very long time. If you consider that aspect, then it’s a good investment. Consider getting it from a place with a good return policy if you can. Or if you try something else from the line and buy direct, CdP offers samples.
YSL Touche Éclat. I’ve been happily using for years now. I believe the one I’m just finishing up is an older formulation; hoping the new one I have ready to break open is as good.
I’ve recently converted to Tarte Shape Tape and it’s great! I blend it out with the Sephora concealer airbrush brush, which is also great. I’ve also found shape tape to be the only concealer that I can truly use double-duty under the eyes and elsewhere on my face (around the nose, etc.) I still prefer KA Sensual Skin enhancer for blemishes though. For under eyes, I used the Cle de Peau stick for years, and have tried many others: NARS radiant creamy (just ok, too yellow, kinda thin), UD NAKED concealer (good color match for me and pretty good otherwise, was using regularly low makeup days when I didn’t want to waste CdP); Maybelline age rewind (still okay for those no makeup days when I still feel the need to cover circles, a little shiny though); Maybelline Fit me (fine, similar to NARS) & Clinique airbrush (still good to add a little extra light on top of/mixed with another concealer but not enough coverage alone and pretty shiny). Okay, so I’m a little obsessed with finding the perfect concealer and don’t like them too shiny! But shape tape really has beat them all.
MAC Pro Longwear is the best I’ve found to help the shadowy-ness of my undereyes. In all honesty, though, my issue can probably only be solved with fillers since the skin itself isn’t dark.
For me it’s It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye corrector topped with Kat Von D Lock-It concealer. This combo works so well on my drier skin. I recently tried Urban Decay’s Naked concealer, and while the color match is spot-on for me (I can’t even tell it’s there, it matches me SO well) I do find that it tends to sink into my lines the longer it’s on my face.
Whatever I’m using that day, I always put a bit of good old YSL Touche Eclat (color 1.5) which just helps make me look more alive!
Guerlain Multi perfecting concealer. Magic in a tube! Lightweight & creamy. Covers everything. Never drying or cakey. It’s so luxurious! It’s pricey but there is a reason, it’s the BEST!
For the moment my favorite is Inglot Cosmetics Under Eye Concealer in the lightest shade (UEC 91). It’s excellent for my very dry eye area and my mid-thirties skin . It covers more than my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla and it’s more moisturizing. I don’t have dark circles under my eyes but I’ve recently developed darkness in the inner corners of my eyes. The Inglot concealer covers that darkness very well while brightening the entire eye area.
I also have the Tarte Shape Tape in Light Neutral but it’s too dark for me for the eye area. Being in Canada, I don’t have the possibility of swatching the Shape Tape in person, so I ordered it online. I should have ordered the fair neutral shade.
I don’t really use concealer any where but under my eyes and I use Sisley-Paris
Phyto-Cernes Eclat Dark Circle Treatment in 2 but this is the only one that I like but I really don’t like any on them I rather just use foundation. I find applying to many products to the skin for me just adds more of a texture to the skin which I don’t like. Maybe when someone is young it doesn’t matter but being older I think it makes a difference.
I got a tube of that new L’oreal FOUNDATION that they show covering a tattoo (actually it’s two DIFFERENT tats in their ad, but I guess their proofreaders didn’t notice) and it’s been working really well for me. Very opaque and it doesn’t crease during the day or wear off. I was going to try Shape Tape but am satisfied with this for $11.
I’ve been hearing tons about the Tarte Shape Tape as well as the Kat Von D and It Cosmetics ones, but the ones I really like (aside from the Tarte CC Under Eye Corrector which isn’t technically a concealer) are the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and Urban Decay Naked Skin one. I have dry skin so those two are hydrating enough they tend to not crease all that much (though I also want to try out the new NARS Soft Matte one), and I also set my concealer ALWAYS which helps.
I primarily use Tarte Shape Tape. I find when using it that I have to use a scant amount and only after really moisturizing my under eye area.
I never see any mention of this but I like Benefit Boing, applied with a brush over a good moisturizer. The medium is a good color match and it stays put. I have tried some others mentioned here and haven’t been happy with any of them.
Is there any such thing (product) that is a concealer in powder form?

So far, I kind of like KVD Lock-it concealer because I do not need to set it with powder in order for it to last all day. But it is still a tad dry. Not as bad as many others I’ve tried, though. Therefore, I’m still searching.
Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer. I’m in my 50’s, have mature beginning to get dry skin, hereditary dark circles, and medical issues with weight loss so quite deep set grooves. Also, very fine lines. I’m light olive skin, use shade Cannelle: light peach, works as both a corrector and a concealer. Win. It doesn’t read too peach against my skin like many correctors tend to. I apply with with Marc Jacobs concealer brush. The MJ brush buffs this product very nicely. I set with the yellow Hourglass powder. This concealer sucks for use anywhere else on my face and virtually disappears into my skin, even with primer. I use KVD or Nars Radiant for that purpose; probably KVD at top of those two because of better neutral shade choice.
Caveat: no product is going to ‘erase’ my issues, but this is the best I’ve got at this time.
Fortunately for me, I don’t need or use under eye concealer, but reading the blogs I know that lots of people have trouble finding one that suits them.
I’m currently using bareMinerals correcting concealer. It’s not really the best performing concealer in terms of coverage or finish; I think the Nars radiant creamy one or the Bobbi Brown serum one are better for that. However, the reason I like the bareMinerals is because it has SPF 20 in it and I prefer products that have additional spf because I’m kind of neurotic about sun damage and I’m worry that I’m disturbing my sunscreen when I blend additional product on top. So if a product has SPF too, then at least I’m still covered even if the sunscreen underneath been rubbed away a little.
I’m going to try Estee Lauder Double Wear- Stay In Place or MAC Studio Finish next, those both have SPF35.
I don’t know how to wear concealer I think lol. I haven’t tried many. Right now I’m trying out Maybelline Fit Me but the shade I got is too yellow and not light enough. Texture seems fine though. I tried the one from It Cosmetics and hated it. Really wanna try the Shape Tape everyone has been mentioning here. I would love to try CdP but the price is outrageous for me.

I am obsessed with Shape Tape! I have tried so many concealers to work on my dark undereye circles and this is the only thing I have liked. My Mom agrees but said she likes IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye equally.
CoverBlend by Exuviance. It unfortunately only comes in three shades but if you’re lucky enough to match one of them it is AMAZING! Creamy, pigmented, buildable if needed and doesn’t settle into lines or cake. It’s been my HG for years. It has treatment ingredients and with continued use even smooths out my milia! ❤
I can’I get by with a single product. I start with L’Oreal Miracle Blur for eyes, which smooths things out a little. Then I pat on an orange color corrector, made to brighten sallow skin. Then I pat on something skin-toned. Right now it is a Cover FX product that I found in my stash. After blending, I set it with some NYX powder. I don’t actually have dark circles. It just looks that way because all the fat has disappeared from under my eyes. The only thing for that is to get filler injected into the hollows, which I did when I was working. Now I just hide behind big glasses.
My current favorite is Urban Decay Naked Skin. I’m considering trying Shape Tape and maybe Too Faced Born This Way at some point, but I want to try to use up what I have first. (I know, LOL.) I do not like NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – too dry – nor Bare Minerals Bare Skin Serum Concealer – too thin. I haven’t found a good drugstore concealer, either. As far as corrector go, I like NYX’s Dark Circle Concealer and the Urban Decay peach shade.
I use Benefit’s Fake Up but still haven’t found something I truly like.
Nars always creases on me, no matter the formula, Tarte’s Aquacealer clings to dry patches, and the one from MAC I tried has bad wear.
I have heard good things about Glossier’s concealer. Anyone around here try their makeup?

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my holy grail. I recently tried Tarte Shape Tape – Glad to know I’m not the only one that found it emphasized fine lines that aren’t usually there! I have also tried It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye but it was so much work to blend it, it ended up spreading out way beyond where I wanted it to go, LOL. For drug store, I like L’Oréal Visible Lift Blur.
I searched for months to get my hands on the Shape Tape.. and finally gave up on it completely a bit ago and threw it away. Just looked awful on the skin. I’m drier under my eyes but have oily skin and seldom have any issue with concealers unless they are too greasy. I have several favorites both low and high end that are a thousand times nicer. The shape tape was very coarsely pigmented, no matter how I applied or what tools I used it just sat very obviously.. not just under the eyes but anywhere I put it (I had both a skin tone and highlight shade). I have no idea how it is so popular.
Currently It’s Bye Bye concealer but I still carry my Cle de Peau stick in my purse as my security blanket for touch-ups if necessary.
I’ve heard so many raves about Lancome’s Effacernes, Clarins Instant concealer, and Inglot’s cream concealer on dry, mature skin I want to try then too though!
Nars Radiant Creamy, I use it for face and undereyes because I don’t do the highlighted thing. It’s got good coverage but I still use a color corrector first because my circles are pretty dark. I used to use the UD peach corrector, good formula but too dark, I could still see peach after I had blended it out. Now I use the Nyx peach corrector in the pot in the lightest shade – perfect. I’ve tried the Shape Tape, I’m too dry for it and it makes me look a million years old. For anyone that has dry undereyes, do you like the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer?
Still looking; I have really, REALLY dark circles under my eyes which appear almost black, so I haven’t been successful with any concealer so far.
MAC Mineralize, Pro Longwear or Select Coverup concealers and Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer.
Nobody talks about this, but the Chanel one is really good for under eyes because it’s so hydrating. Fit me at the drugstore is pretty decent. I heard good things about the Maybelline age rewind concealer but I got the wrong shade (too fair and pink) that it wasn’t able to do much.
For undereyes, YSL Touche Eclat concealer. It doesn’t work very well elsewhere on my face, but I use a full-coverage foundation, so I rarely need concealer elsewhere. What I like about it is likely the reason it wouldn’t work for a lot of others: it’s thin and highlighting, but not terribly pigmented. That’s good news for me, as every “more substantial” concealer I’ve ever tried looked fake and makeup-y. I don’t have dark circles under my eyes, I just want to highlight the area — brighten it up — so I look well-rested, so this thin, light formula is just right.
I’ve tried a few. I’ve used and loved the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer and the Lancome Maquicomplet concealer, but now I am transitioning to cruelty free makeup, so I am not repurchasing. Right now I am experimenting with the Nars RCC (it is alright), an elf concealer (terrible, so watery and gives no coverage), and a Nyx HD studio photogenic concealer (SO DAMN GOOD!!).
I use Bobbi Brown’s corrector and concealer in liquid and cream formats. Also have CT’s magic eye cream/concealer (works best when wearing Light Wonder foundation) and Tom Ford’s concealer/corrector pen. Each time I’ve tried Door’s Airflash foundation, the corresponding corrector worked really well on me.
