I love flesh-toned liner like MAC’s Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20.
Thanks to Carol for today’s question! Got a question idea? Submit yours here.
probably a frosty light eyeshadow like Naked Lunch or Vanilla pigment
i like to wear blue or green liner on my water line to try cancel out the redness.
extra coverage under my eyes? i have to not get any sleep for days before i get dark circles. yay
You are so lucky! Just one day and I look like I actually put dark blue grey eyeshadow below my eyes….
I love Stila’s Kajal Eye Liner in Topaz. It’s the perfect flesh colored.
I get really deep sunken in dark circles, so it takes some work to make me look awake. I use Cover FX in EO when my dark circles are excessive, but I use YSL Touche Eclait all other times and some times over the Cover FX if it needs brightening as well.
I use Sephora’s Flashy Waterproof Liner in Flashy Pink. I use it for the inner 1/3 of my eyes. I always get compliments on it 🙂
MAC e/s in Nylon on the inner corners of my eyes 🙂 makes it look like I actually slept for more than 5 hours lol
I use Stila eyeliner in Topaz on the waterline. That gives my eyes the wake up and look less tired.
Good tip about the flesh toned liner Christine! Think I’m gonna have to get one now..
I cover up my dark circles and use a light frosty shadow near my tearducts to perk up my eyes.
I don’t know any special answer to this…but my favorite highlight is Dazzlelight from MAC
Depends on what you mean by brightening. If I am having problems with alergies then white liven on my water line is great.
If I want my eyes to pop out then some green near the lash line works like a charm.
If I want to look like I was not studying all night and actually got a full nights sleep I go with black eye liner (on the thin side but not quite tight lining) and shimmery shadow on the inner corner.
frosty pink/peach shadow
Sephora’s Pure Eye Pencil in Jelly White works beautifully. Not only is it all-natural, but it’s not an overpowering white. It’s a dulled white that has a slight pink tone to it – it’s light enough to see a notable difference to brighten your eyes, but not bright so that it’s the only thing people see when they look at your face.
Guerlain’s eye pencil in Ivory , a flesh toned eyepencil
Illamasqua Vow pencil.
Definitely the NC15/NW20 Chromagraphic Pencil.
benefit eyebright
For brightening the eyes, I’d go for shimmery champagne colours like NARS Duo Eyeshadow in “Alhambra” and lots of mascara!
A bright blush colour also does wonders in “lifting” the face and making you look more awake.
I love Benefit High Brow! I use it to highlight browbone and tearduct. This pencil is perfect also applied in the waterline: it’s long lasting and makes eyes naturally brighter 😉
A bit of Ricepaper on the inner corner, flesh-toned liner on the waterline and then a bit of brown liner on the outer corner and tightlined as well, plus loads of mascara.
I absolutely love Benefit eyebright. I know this doesnt seem to work for some people but for me, its an HG item! It really makes a HUGE different with how I look. I wear it like I wear YSL Touche eclat….and EYEBRIGHT is half the price of YSL, same results for me! Under the eyes, on the inner and out corners of the eyes (just rub it in), under the brow bone (this is where I really start to see my face light up!) down the bridge of my nose, cupids bow and then the shadow under my lips…..actually you can wear this anywhere and everywhere on your face where you see a dark shadow and it will make you look so awake and bright! Ok, well, now I feel like a salesman!lol But when I saw you posted this question I just couldn’t resist. Im an NC40 and I don’t know if skin tone matters when using this product but I highly recommend it, It is amazing!
Woodwinked on the lowerlashline!
I love NYX jumbo pencil in milk and garnier anti dark circle roller for nice light concealer
One of the very few Benefit products I like – the Eye Bright pencil – it really is fab!
Bright turquoise liner on the lower lashline (UD Electric, MUFE 7L, Bourjois Bleu clinquant; they’re all the exact same color). Silver liner on the inner corners. I don’t usually get dark circles but when they occur I use Dior Skinflash.
MAC’s Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 as well, GOSH velvet touch liner in Bananas, MUFE’s Aqua eyes in White 14L and NYX in white.on thw waterline of in the tear duct area. Also Vingin from the Naked palette.
Concealer to hind the natural blue dark circles from my lack of pigmentation in the skin and not sleep deprivation (they get 100% worse when it sleep deprived). Even my eyelids have a blue tint to them. lol
Benefit creaseless cream recess makes a huge difference and it’s about the only Benefit item I like
Do you use the chromagraphic pencil in the water line, the same way you would use a White eye liner? Is it more subtle?
Yes and yes!
Benefit’s Eye Bright is a must, I just put it around the inner corner of my eye.
2 products I have always used are:
1.Make Up For Ever’s Star Powder in 942 right in the tear duct.
2. MAC’s cream colour base in Hush on the brow bone.
The combination of these two products really light up the eyes!
i like phloof eyeshadow by mac or the strobe liquid or the creampot in gold. it lightens my eyelids which are uneven in tone and mainly dark considering i am fair at nw20.
MAC cream color base in Shell for the inner corners
I use Guerlain’s Khôl Me eye pencil in Ivory on my waterline
garnier under eye roller with stay dont stray on top
i dont even put concealer over it. just my foundation
Le Métier de Beauté Eye Brightening and Setting Powder
Since I have dark circles I love bobbi brown corrector in dark peach.
Touche Eclat in the inside corners of my eyes, paired with a light shimmery eyeshadow.
Revlon has a good quad with light, shimmery nudes.
It’s an old one but it works wonders on my eyes!
Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightening Powder brushed under eyes and innner corners really brightens up my eye area.
I used makeup on a “once in awhile” basis throughout high school and early college, pretty much reserving it only for special occasions. Articles in magazines and on the internet, and especially reviews and tips from “girl on the street” ordinary users, furthered my interest and skill in make-up. Then at one point, I FOUND A GREAT FOUNDATION, and started using moisturizer regularly, and it helped me realize that DAMN, I CAN LOOK REALLY GOOD with the right make-up (as we all can!).
I’m far from a crazed make-up addict, it’s not my hobby or anything (I just can’t afford to get that into it!), but now I know that the right stuff is out there and a little knowledge and skill goes a loooong way toward looking great and feeling beautiful.
