MAC Venomous Villains: It’s Here
According to MAC LiveChat (which I did both at 9AM PST and noon PST), Venomous Villains will launch TODAY online at 6PM EST (that’s 3PM PST, 5PM CST) NOW UP 🙂 The consistency in which this is being said gives me hope that it is true, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated with links as they go live.
- Edited @ 3:17PM PST — Readers are reporting that they’re being told (via MAC reps, either phone or online): “tomorrow morning,” “tonight,” and “midnight.” I did a LiveChat myself, and they’re now reporting “sometime tonight” and saying “it’s scheduled to launch online tonight.”
- Edited @ 3:19PM PST — “The collection was actually scheduled to launch Tues (tomorrow), but we are doing an earlier launch tonight due to the demand. I wish I had a better time frame for you, but at this time we can’t make any promises. I just know it will be tonight.”

The landing page hasn’t been created, but below are direct links to each character’s collection for purchase. Otherwise, you can search by product name, too.

Tips & Tricks
- Make sure you have your log-in information/personal profile up-to-date. Have your payment method handy or else already on-file.
- Have your list ready in advance, that way you can add everything quickly. Just because it’s in your cart doesn’t mean it’s yours.
- Make two orders — order everything you must have or items you think are going to sell out quickest the first time, and then make your second order more leisurely or for items you want to think about for a bit.
- IT IS JUST MAKEUP. I know, I get it, part of the fun is the chase, but it is just makeup, so let the chase be fun, not heartbreaking.
- If something sells out or you’re not able to get to the website right when it launches, the collection will also be available through retailers like Dillard’s
, Macy’s, and Nordstrom. I asked @nordstrom this morning, and they are reporting in-store and online launch for the 30th.

Picked up my stash on Sat at Nordstrom – They are almost completely sold out due to triple pts
You are lucky! My Nordstrom told me I get triple points, and then said that they can’t charge it until the 30th, which means NO triple points. That was not very nice of them! My MAC MA at Nordstrom that I love moved over to Nars, and it’s never quite been the same at MAC, lol.
Are those times just for the US site? Or does the same go for the Canadian one?

The US and Canadian store updated at about the same time but I do believe the Canadian on goes just after the updates for the US. It’s a coding thing and Fabulous Felines I was able to order at the same time as our US counterparts via product name search. ^_^
I wonder if VV shows up for PRO members in Canada, if so, it’ll probably be quite close, since the “coding” is pretty much done.
It’s starting to populate, all most of the items are up but the blush and nail polish.

I'm not close to ANY MAC stores or counters to make a pre-order viable. I use to do that all the time when I was working in the GTA. Web order is my life line out in the "sticks" lol

That sucks 🙁 I’m spoiled by the area, and whenever I think about future house purchasing and what I can afford, I think, “NOOO, I won’t be near Sephora, MAC, Nordstrom!”
I wish I felt that way about The Bay, I would swap a Nordstrom or Macy’s for a Bay any day. 🙂
Just an FYI The Bay is he only place to find a Mac store/counter Bay but I’m no close enough to one either. 😛
You can call any Nordstrom Store, not the customer sercive number that’s online, but an actual STORE and place an order over the phone and they’ll ship it to you FREE (no shipping charge). I’m the same as you in that i live no where near a MAC store or counter and i did this to place my preorder and the SA said she’ll ship them out on the 30th.
Know I’m grabbing Strange Potion and Bad Fairy. I’m still debating the Truth and Light Powder and Sinister. The Muse said she had a problem with Truth and Light pilling. Did you have a problem with that? How did you apply? Then Sinister I’m not sure it will look good on my NC15 coloring… Maybe I’ll wait and test in person.

The cool liquid powder has a weird smell to it. I’m not sure if I will keep using it. Disappointed bc I really wanted to enjoy this product

I’m really debating on if I really need something from this collection or not. I would really like Revenge is Sweet, Vioeltta, Briar Rose. I don’t really like ordering from the internet because I can’t return it to the counter. What should I do? What do you think will be the hot sellers.
If you have a counter nearby, and you’re not sure about it, you can always go to the counter when it launches on Thursday. 🙂

You’re right I’m just going to wait until thursday. With everyone getting excited about the collection. Like everyone else I’m just so nervous about it all being sold out. LOL I’ve never been so anxious about a collection before.

Yeah, it seems pretty popular. There are a lot of potential sellouts, IMO. It just matters how much stock MAC has, you know?

I keep debating on the magically cool liquid powder. I don’t really know if I would use it enough but it just seems so awesome haah! Does it have a LOT of glitter in it?? I have very oily skin and I dont like toooo much glitter on my face. I guess that is my big deciding factor!

When I was at the launch party I was talking to some of the ladies at the store and after 2 hours they were already near selling out of the stock they had for that night. Apparently one of the nail polish colors was completely sold out, and the Magic powder-to-liquids were hot sellers.
My favorites right now are the Toxic Tale lipstick, the Facilier greasepaint stick and the Maleficent Mineralized duos. The greasepaint stick and duos make for amazing smokey eyes!
The more pigment lipstick in the 3 sets as well. The paler/sheerer ones won’t fly off the shelves but out of the 3 Dark Deed would sell last due to being a bit bold for street wear. lol Violetta is really just for those ladies that can pull of purples. Strange Potion I could see selling out for the Evil Queen as well.
French Quarter I could see being the first to sell out for Dr. Facilier collection. Every company that makes Grease paints has a black but the tone of French Quarter is fairly unique to MAC.
I went to a launch party got a huge haul, then pre-ordered the items I had to think about!! I am still think I might order online… haha pathetic I know! So if you order products online you can return them to a MAC store right?? You just cant return to a counter?

you have to return them to mac.com . Keep in mind , it takes like 2 weeks to get your money back though

Do I think bite of an apple wld be too bright as I prefer a natural look.

If you want a more natural look, then Bite of an Apple is pretty bright. You can tone it down, of course!
I’m glad that I got off early today and am home now. There was one or two things that I wanted that I did not pre-order at Nordstrom. I am thinking of getting My Dark Magic Mineralize e/s and Push the Edge pigment. It’ll be or the other. Any suggestions?

I actually found Bold N Brash AND Push the Edge pigments at my CCO the other day. If you’re close to a CCO and can visit before Thursday, I’d look into that. It’d be cheaper and you wouldn’t have to “fight the crowd” to get it.
Hehehehe!!! Miami Pro Stores started selling a week early so my friend bought my stuff and shipped it to me. (Altana Pro stores are way behind schedule)

See, I called twice today and got two very different answers. When I called at 7AM (on my way to work) I was told it would launch online around 8AM. Then, when I called again at 10:30AM and asked to place an order, she told me it wouldn’t launch until the 30th. When I told her that couldn’t be right, she put me on hold, asked someone, then returned and said it would launch tomorrow morning (9/28). I love MAC, but they’re customer service information is seriously lacking.
One more hour, I’m about to explode!
I think I chose a lot of “unpopular” items, so I’m crossing my fingers that I get a perfect storm of MAC well stocking, and my items being available 🙂
waiting to pick up my (rather large) hold on thursday from my MAC counter. this collection is absolutely beautiful (especially in person) and definitely worth all the hype and whatnot, but i seriously cannot wait for this stressful period of waiting to be over! it’s just too much!
They are already pre-selling the line at Macy’s. Bought 2 items yesterday and will be picking it up on Thursday.

I’m in the uk so we have to wait another few weeks, still going to stalk the American mac website though 🙂 I’m considering the Bite of an Apple blush but think it may be too bright for my skin tone (I’m very pale with pink undertones.) Do you think it will work for me? Thanks 🙂
If you have very pink undertones, it might go really red, but it would be pretty in a Snow White kind of way 🙂

I really liked your swatches of several of the lipsticks and some lipglasses.. My boyfriend went crazy over the reds, and those seem like some of the ones that every one wants. Good thing I wont be going anywhere tonight! Hopefully I can get my order in immediately, before anything sells out.. I don’t think things could sell out in minutes? Or perhaps I’m too hopeful. xD
I really hope that all us deserving mac fans get what we want from this collection before the price gouging ebay sellers get their hands on it and some poor girls are forced to bid upwards of $100 for a $20 item (ie the hello kitty collection). Now I know how the poor parents felt this past xmas when bidding $80 for a stupid zhu zhu pet, its so wrong!

This is really such BAD timing MAC! I’m moving cross country on the 30th, so online is my best bet. This is my first mac collection I’ve reall gotten excited about, and I’m not even getting that many things, but here I am, stalking the MAC website, taking a break from packing, hoping I’ll get my three items (of course, the three that will sell out the fastest, Bite of an Apple blush, Briar Rose Beauty Powder and Oh So Fair Beauty Powder.) Ugh. Well, I guess if I don’t get them, it’s more money in my pocket and less in my vanity.

I didn’t get to go to the unveiling party but my favorite mac girl did show me a few things the other night when I went in and I’m so happy because I don’t think I would have ordered anything tonight sight unseen. I decided not to leave it to chance and pre-ordered Strange potion and Bite of an Apple at the Saks downtown. The SA mentioned that they tend to sell out of things quickly since they’re located in a mall with a ton of makeup fanatics but I figure that my wallet will be happy if something else that I wanted sold out before I get there after work on Thursday. =)
Wow. I like makeup as much as the next person… but really? I can’t imagine being this worked up over a new release of make up. Unless this stuff is going to get rid of my cellulite, stretch marks, and make me look 10 lbs thinner, I can totally take it or leave it!
I agree it doesn’t remove cellulite or stretch marks but it does draw the eye away from them! Think of it that way!
I just did live chat and they stated that they no longer have an exact time and it has in fact been pushed back…I really hope thats just a misinformed customer service agent

omg! though i’ve loved makeup for years, i’m just recently really getting into it/committed. I’m really excited about the collection, and all this talk of selling out is making me nervous. i’m reluctant to pre-order, i’ve always taken a long time to make a decision, but all this chatter makes me think i should.
I have the two items that I didn’t get at the unveiling on hold at the MAC counter I ususally go to at Macy’s, but I’m seriously contemplating just getting them when they go on sale tonight. This way I know I 100% have them coming my way.

I was excited about it….until I tried it on. It did not look good at all. The MAC MUA said that she hasn’t seen it look good on anyone. After trying it myself, I saw what she meant.

Yes it does! That’s why I wanted it. Then I tried it on and it did not look good at all. But I’m a much darker skin tone than Christine. Maybe that’s why….However, I thought a color like that would look good on darker skin tones.

I was told six around three this afternoon, and then about ten minutes ago I was informed tomorrow morning but not given a specific time, just told to look for an email. Does anyone know what time MAC normally does morning releases? Is that “morning” as in “after midnight” or like…eight am morning? So frustrating.
Usually, MAC will load up all of the products sometime on Monday afternoon, but you won’t see a landing page or an email for it – but you can buy everything (you usually have to search for everything by name or product type). Then it “launches” on Tuesday AM. Sometimes they don’t get it up until Tuesday AM, and then you’ll get an email in the afternoon.
This time, however, MAC PRO members have access to the entire collection, through the maccosmetics.com (macpro.com merged with the consumer site), so it seems like it’s a matter of flipping a switch (or changing permissions). I don’t know.
Barbie launched around midnight PST, I believe, but this was many moons ago. I think the majority of collections have launched on east coast time. If they say tomorrow morning, it may be as early as 8AM EST.
I am taking this to a whole new level…I was supposed to make apple crisp tonight but since I dont have internet in my kitchen I have resorted to peeling apples in my room LOL. Can you say mac addict?

Yep, they were saying 6PM EST to lots and lots of people earlier today… like you, several readers have said they’re now saying tomorrow… One reader said tonight.
i just got off the phone w/ a rep, she said “just wait a few minutes”. so either nobody at MAC knows what time this thing launches tonite (or IF it launches tonite), or they get a kick out of watching us wait LOL!!

I just went online and inquired about when the launch is happening… they told me that they cannot give a time now (it is currently 5:12pm central time) and that I should check back later. I asked if it would be tonight and she told me that it most likely wouldn’t be.

The collection is not up on the Canadian website despite being told it launches at 6pm, just an hour ago. The Canadian Live Chat has now been closed ( or crashed) and says it will not open again until 10am tomorrow morning.
so now livechat said they are CLOSED LOL! tey don’t close till 10 pm EST …must have been swamped with people asking them about VV
This is really unprofessional of MAC.
If they announce a specific time, they should either adhere to it or make an official announcement through Facebook or Maccosmetics.com and tell the customers that.

It is.. What’s even worse is that, they’ve made the collection available for PRO members while leaving the rest of us out in the cold with said information… And then when the day arrives when it will become available to us – they’re playing around, it seems.

Tired of waiting so I just called up my MAC store in my local Dillards for a pre-order of Bad Fairy, going to pick it up on Thursday, I can’t wait!
I just now finally pre-ordered with my local store. I only ordered 5 items. There are so many more I want, but alas being a stay at home mom isn’t a high paying job lol. I skipped on all of the lipglosses, some of them I’d like to have but it’s just lipgloss and easily duped in my mind. When I go pick up my order on thursday and some other items catch my eye I might have to splurge a little and get them!

What happened with Nordstrom was with Stereo Rose, I believe, and some people had some issues securing stock. Every retailer was overselling.

I just ordered my mini-haul off the website! Bad Fairy, Strange Potion, and Devilishly Stylish. I really only meant to get Bad Fairy and the Briar Rose powder originally, but when I went to the unveiling last week they were sold out of Bad Fairy, so I picked up the Revenge Is Sweet lipglass to console myself in case I never got my hands on Bad Fairy. But the prints on the lipglasses are too awesome to resist…now I have one of each, plus my original must-haves! I’m excited. I normally never get the LE stuff I want, and this is only my third MAC purchase overall.

I bought “Violetta” l/s last week in regular packaging off the reg. mac site. I didn’t want to spend an extra dollar on packaging, since I probably won’t wear it a lot, but it looked so lovely and I was just excited to see this pro product brought over to reg mac site.

I’ve never ordered off the website before, but thought I’d try it to miss the MAC store mania – I braved it for the Hello Kitty launch and will never do it again. Some of those women I know have done time.
But I ordered the Maleficent line and am super psyched for it to show up at my front door!
Thanks Christine! I know Nordstrom is taking pre-sale orders but have been so busy haven’t gotten a chance to stop by there and pre-oder the items I had to leave behind at the preview party. Ordered them online instead since won’t have time to get there early enough to deal with the crowds and sell outs. I didn’t notice the code for the free shipping but I got it anyway since I ordered the Viva Glam lipglosses – money going for a great cause – so it worked out in the end. I just won’t be able to use them until they arrive which isn’t a problem for me.
On my e-mail from Mac confirming my order under Bad Fairy it says “Cannot ship to APO/FPO address.” What does that mean?
There are a lot of restrictions about nail polish going overseas/out of the country (APO/FPO are military addresses, correct?) – so that’s probably it.
I’m so frustrated…. Got an e-mail from Mac today for both of my orders saying they couldn’t process it because my billing address wasn’t correct for that card… but it’s the same address as on my bill statements…. :/
Does this mean I won’t get the items I ordered that are sold out now… such as Bad Fairy, etc?
According to the amount the billed my credit card I’m not getting my entire order… even though I ordered it and it was in stock at the time of my order…
If my math skills are any good it works out exactly to be they took off Bite of an apple. 🙁 I’m really angry right now.

I ordered right after the launch. However, something is definitely missing from my order according to the amount they have billed my card. However, I have heard nothing back from them.
You can call and ask, or you can check your order list and see if any item has something different listed next to it.
Just checked my order list. All items have a tracking number next to them except for Bite of an Apple. Any idea if that means it may ship later and them bill me later for it? Thanks for all the help Christine!
They usually do backorders first, and they try to find additional pieces to fulfill them. They don’t always get to all, BUT with Stereo Rose, I know a lot of people got their backorders — including myself.

MAC doesn’t always let you know something from your order is sold out. I ordered my To The Beach stuff, and when my order came, the invoice explained half of my order couldn’t be shipped. I was so disappointed because I wasn’t expecting it. 🙁
Yay… got the few things I wanted. Things aren’t selling out as quickly as I thought they would.
I got an e-mail from MAC this afternoon that the collection was available. Luckily, I checked my e-mail about 20 mins. after they sent it to me. I pre-payed for a bunch of stuff at my Macy’s, but decided I wanted a couple of other things. I ordered the Truth & Light powder and the French Quarter Greasepaint Stick. I’ve never owned one and French Quarter looks so pretty that I decided it was a good time to try one. I’m still thinking about getting Cajun Magically Cool Liquid Powder. I didn’t expect to love those powders so much when I tried them at the store, and the peach undertones are just so perfect for my skin tone. I considered getting Bad Fairy, but decided $13 is more than I want to spend on a nail polish I probably won’t use that often. If Maleficent were on the bottle, I might’ve been persuaded to get it. I do love the name :). I wonder what will sell out first?

I plan to do “MAC.” I have to of course come up with a creative concept story to display the info in the booklet…(If you have any ideas for a concept I’m all ears…) . Anyhow I was wondering if you had high quality resolution or good resolution face charts and any other promotional flyers for collections from this year or last year? And anything else interesting. I was thinking of maybe working the Viva Glam Aids angle, but I am just thinking now…I have to have four angles by this Wednesday.

The offical description of Wicked Ways lipglass is fuschia with pink pearl. It looks more red to me in your swatches–you describe it as cherry red. I”m kind of torn on whether it will work for me. I have fair skin with a tendency towards flushed cheeks. Do you consider it more on the red or fuschia side? Thanks for all the information. I was so excited to get my order in. I am a big make up fan as well as a huge Disney fan–gotta love it when the two combine!!

Because the items are licensed through Disney because of packaging the PRO discount doesn’t apply to the items. Only on nail polishes and pigments (from what I have heard).

I placed my order at 10pm central, and i got everything I wanted. I hope I don’t get a sold out email later, but if I do, that’s more money in my bank account. The only thing I’m on the fence about is the Briar Rose powder. I’m NW15 and I already have Pink Swoon (looks good if I apply lightly) and Well Dressed (looks a little chalky on me), so I’m not sure I really need Briar Rose. Oh, also Resort Life. If I see it in stock at the store, I’ll probably grab it, otherwise no worries (I love lip glosses, but I already have so many).
SO exciting! I only ordered De Vil eyeshadow and Wrong Spell lipglass for now because I know I’m going to go to Nordstroms on Friday to try on other things (I’m hoping to only let myself buy AT MOST 3 things more, but I dunno…). My original checkout had 15 items which I ADORED. But that huge number for the total (something like $250, which is just too much for babysit-once-a-week high school girl) scared the crap out of me and I quickly removed items.

I was staring at MANY online swatches of Hot House Lipglass and knew it looked like something I have. I decided to dig through my lip gloss stash before submitting my order. There I found Lancôme La Laque Fever Lip Gloss in Electric Pink. If it’s not an exact match with regards to color, it’s pretty damn close. Close enough that I removed Hot House from the cart. That left me with my final order of Wicked Ways Lipglass, Heartless Lipstick, and (at the very last minute) Violetta Lipstick.
I’m hoping I can figure out a way to use Violetta as an every day color by tweaking the hue with different lip liners and glosses (I’m NC15 with pink undertones, have brown eyes, and brown hair with reddish highlights).
Electric Pink is a lot pinker (and totally different texture), IMO!
Just placed my order! Bad Fairy, Strange Potion, Toxic Tale, and Wicked Ways (been on a bit of a lip product kick lately :P) I hope MAC’s inventory is in sync with the site. I don’t wanna wake up tomorrow and find out half the stuff I wanted was sold out way before I placed my order!
I did some frenzied ordering via iPod while in the Starbucks parking lot, and for a bit it kept trying to sell me 3 Wrong Spells instead of just 1, but I got the few things I wanted. Much more stressful than I was expecting, but it’s over, and things aren’t out of stock yet — hope that everyone who wants something manages to get it without having to rely on the scalpers!

I have a quick question! I have really pale skin (NC15) and I wanted to know if you thought the liquid powder in Cajun would be too dark for my skin. I wouldn’t want it to look like big muddy brown smears on my face you know?

They’ve restocked on occasion, but it’s not likely.
Made my first Mac purchase tonight and I am so excited! I am mainly a drugstore makeup girl due to being a student and not having a job but I got a lot of money for my birthday and saved it for this collection. I ordered at 8pm and got Bite of an Apple blush, Sinister lipstick, Violetta lipstick, Hot House Lipglass and Bad Fairy Nail Polish (I already bought the Orly dupes for the other two that Christina blogged about). I just placed a second order and got Wicked Ways Lipglass, Briar Rose Beauty Powder and Her Dark Magic Mineralized Eyeshadow Duo. I can’t wait to try out Mac and I hope it is worth it.

I will never do this again. I’m going to pre-order at Nordstroms like a lot of others did. I don’t like the chase! haha. I have never been too excited about any MAC Collection before but I am a huge disney fan so I just had to get something. Yesterday, definitely had me sweating bullets all day, I’m so glad its over! I got “Innocence, Beware!”. Money is kind of tight this week, so I just treated myself to one thing until it officially launches. My boyfriend and I were suppose to go food shopping. I told him, “NOOOO! We CANNOT leave until after 6:00!!”. He had side work to do so we had to go then and to my surprise, when I got home just after 7:00, it just launched! There’s a few things I really want, but if the things I want sell out when it officially launches, I won’t be ‘going bananas’ (<— haha, my lame attempt of a MAC joke).

agreed. I didn’t bother ordering anything. I went into the PRO store today, checked it out and really the only thing I liked was a couple of the beauty powders. I picked up one but not interested in anything else and the hype really makes me think it’s a bit overrated.
There not a lot of “wearable” shade in this collection for most people compared to Fabulous Felines. In fact your smart for not blowing you budget with the upcoming winter collections coming out. I would still like to get Bite of an Apple blush but I don’t “need” it.

The excitement over the new MAC Venomous Villains line is amazing. I am excited about it too.
I placed my first order last night from the new lines. Although I have a Dillard’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom and MAC Pro stores near me, I couldn’t wait 🙂 The four lines are so amazing and pretty.
I spent about an hour trying to decide what I was going to get. I didn’t want to buy a shadow that has a dupe in the permanent MAC line. I love the packaging but couldn’t get myself to buy the shadow just for the packaging. I didn’t buy any lip glosses or lipsticks. I’m sure I’ll visit a counter and buy more when I swatch them.
I ended up purchasing the two mineralized eye shadows from the Maleficent line, and the Vile Violet eye shadow and Bite of an Apple blush from the Evil Queen line. I wish I could have gotten more but I had to stick to a budget. Trust me, it was difficult. I knew I couldn’t pass up on the Bite of an apple blush, it looks so pretty.
So, if you purchased your’s online, what did you get?

I just got back from the MAC pro store in Chicago (on Armitage st. for anyone who can make it there or wants to call them). They said they were able to put it all up on the counter yesterday because they are a pro store…and they still have the entire collection! Bite of an apple seems to be the big seller right now (almost all gone!) so I got 2 (1 for me, 1 for my daughter) and almost everything from the Cruella set, both of the magically cool powders, and a few other things! Im so happy! Hope everyone gets to a store and finds what they want!

Mac is annoying they never send me a shipping confirmation and online my order always says “pending” but they charge my card. This happens every time I order something lol I can never track my order which drives me crazy but oh well at least I know I’m getting what I ordered. I’m thinking about picking up French Quarter in store on Thursday because I have never tried the greasepaint sticks but I haven’t really made up my mind. I was thinking of getting another Strange Potion if they have it at my store but I don’t want to be greedy lol
Once they charge you, it’s gravy. You can always call, too, for a tracking #. I had two packages without tracking #s but when I called, they gave it to me.

Not quite as red – there’s a lil’ bit of orange to it, but they are close.

I’m about an NW10(I think? I wear the lightest line of Meow Cosmetics. Never bothered with MAC because I assumed I was too pasty!) and I was wondering if you thought the blushes / beauty powders in this collection would be flattering for me? Or should I get a permanent color instead?
I’m looking for a nice every day pink color since I normally wear peaches. I find that I have naturally red cheeks so even with foundation the pink tends to pull the red a bit. Thanks!
Hmm, I think you may like Well Dressed (permanent, not from VV). I think it’d be really pretty, and it is on the softer side, so it won’t be like WHOA! pink. Oh So Fair may show SOME color but very little – it is pretty light, even for NW10, IMO.
I actually did pick up Oh So Fair today and I tried it on my inner wrist, which is about NW20 and it was a nice light pink flush. I’m not one for a lot of blush so for me it was perfect for the winter/spring (it’ll be okay on my cheeks once my tan fades)
The only thing I wanted (Bad Fairy) is sold out.

The weird thing is, I just looked at my order online (6:45 EST) and everything except for Bad Fairy, Strange Potion and Bite of an Apple say ‘Pending’ and those three are blank. I ordered last night around 10 EST and I’m crossing my fingers that I don’t get that dreaded backorder email like I got with Stereo Rose!

I usually don’t get a shipping notice from MAC until after it ships, LOL. You can call and ask for a tracking # – often they have it, but it’s not listed online.
I would wait and check back in your order status in the My Account. I thought mine had all gone through until I received an email from MAC letting me know one of the items I ordered is on back order. And I also ordered the first night it came out 🙁 My other items have shipped because MAC has already charged my credit card. They won’t do that until it ships. I’m going to a MAC counter tomorrow to see if I can find the item that is on back order. Good luck!!
I would imagine with so many orders coming in at once it would be difficult for them to keep track of what their stock is. Think of how many people rushed to the site to order and how slow the site got because of that. With thousands of people ordering at the same time making sure things were marked out sold out when it happened would be near impossible. I’m sorry you got a backorder notice. Maybe you could call your local MAC or counter and ask them to hold it for you and you could pick it up tomorrow and then cancel with MAC online. I hope everything works out for you.
Christine or any temptalia readers, can someone please tell me what MAC brush I should buy to use with the venemous villain beauty powders I just ordered online? I got an email this morning after I asked if what I ordered was available and this is what they replied with:

Well, my account online hasn’t updated yet, but my credit card shows it was charged less than the amount my order should have been. 🙁 I REALLY wish the MAC website worked correctly, so I could find out what I didn’t get before Thursday. I’d like to have a chance to get the “missing” items. >:( I’m guessing Bad Fairy/Strange Potion/Bite of an Apple, but those don’t add up to the price difference. Hrm.
I’m so annoyed at the website limitations that I have decided to skip Briar Rose and Resort Life (and anything besides my original list) completely.
Also, I’m annoyed that I was charged the tax rate of the free-standing store here, which is in a different city (and even different state) than I am in! The MAC at Nordstrom is a mile away, still different city but same state, with a sales tax rate of 2.5% lower than what I was charged.
So annoyed by this experience, I may sit out all of the Holiday collections.
I believe online retailers are required to charge certain tax rates based on whatever the laws are. It is probably what they are *legally* required to do. I know there is ongoing legislation and a lot of pending lawsuits regarding online sales tax, though.
2.5% is actually not bad. I am paying like 9.75% sales tax. 🙂
No, the *difference* between my local sales tax and the tax I was actually charged is 2.5%. They’ve charged me a tax rate that isn’t even for my state.
I don’t mind paying sales tax for my own state/locality, when shopping online. I also don’t mind paying the higher tax when I drive over the state line to shop.
But I am really upset that I’m being charged a sales tax that is actually HIGHER than the sales tax in my city/state. I was charged the same that I’d pay if I went to the free-standing store. (Which is in a different state, in a higher-end shopping center, and there is an extra tax on top of the regular sales tax. That’s the amount I’ve been charged, not the tax for my locality.)
Therefore, they will be losing some sales from me, in the future. Plus, I might just hit the counter near me Thursday morning, and return all the online items. Less convenient, but at least I’ll know my sales tax dollars will be allocated correctly.
What I’m saying is you should contact them if you feel you are being mis-charged, but it seems unlikely – no retailer wants to charge tax.
I think it really is sort of ridiculous that these collections always sell out so fast. I get that they want to create excitement and have people rush to buy them, but I was hoping that with a Disney collection at least, they’d plan for a certain amount of demand and there would be enough product available a day after everything was released. 🙁

in honor of the collection i went out and bought the dvds to all the characters n i have to say i enjoyed all of them espicially “the princess n the frog” since it was my 1st time lol also so i could remember what the movies are about now the names of all the makeup make sense to me and i now want to buy more wen it comes out on sunday also makes u appreciate each character of the movies for who they are

It may or may not be filled – the last time MAC did backorders in mass was Stereo Rose, and I know that many reported getting theirs, including myself, but it’s not always the case.
I just checked and my order will be here tomorrow. SOOO Excited. Looks like everything I ordered is coming too. Can’t wait to get home from work tomorrow. 🙂

I just called about my pending order and the woman on the phone told me my order has been fulfilled aka all of the items are in the box ready to ship and I will not be getting a backorder notice even though I didn’t receive a tracking number yet!
A friend let me know that when she went to nordstroms today to do her pre-order, she was informed that most the stores in Orange County Cali (Nordys, Macys, MAC store) are already sold out because of pre-orders. So even though it goes on sale Thurs to the public, it’s already sold out..which sucks for people who didn’t pre-order.
Dr. Facilier’s Slick Black Grease Stick has been taken down all day today. So is it sold out? It’s still on Macy’s website, but the MAC site no longer has it paired with the French Quarter stick.

I am feeling lucky that my PRO store had an early launch party and I purchased all the items I want already. I may go to the store on official launch day to pick up a few more things, but if I don’t get it because it is sold out, I won’t be too upset.
I ordered about an hour & half after the collection went live. I ordered Bad Fairy & Bite of an Apple blush that got backordered. People are saying that MAC doesn’t fill all backorders. What are my chances? * I iz dieing inside* 😛
They managed to fill several backorders on Stereo Rose – I don’t know if they managed to fill all of them, but I did eventually get mine.

According to the the website, my full order shipped last night from the warehouse at 2:52 AM and I have a tracking order number for my two day shipping! I got almost all the Cruella line, which is one of the first Disney movies I can remember seeing so I really wanted these products, and have an appointment on Thursday to view some of the other Favorites I have on hold like Strange Potion, Bite of an Apple and Oh So Fair.
Which I am still really on the fence about…I am afraid it will be too pink. I tend to run more neutral, I am a C1 in Face and Body and I definitely have pink undertones but for example I bought Porcelain Pink Mineralize Skinfinish and hated it on me! So any advice Christine would be really appreciated or if anyone else already has swatched it and can give me their own opinion I would be equally interested. Thank you very much.

This is my first time placing a large order from a collection. It looked like everything went through fine on Monday night and then I got an email yesterday saying that 3 of the things are on backorder. I called the 800 # and they said it could go either way (meaning the items may come/may not). This is so frustrating!!
In your experience, do backordered items usually come through? I’m debating whether or not to try to hunt these items down myself (bad fairy, bite of an apple and strange potion).
I’ve only gotten one or two notices in my lifetime – the last being for Stereo Rose, and they did fulfill them. I will say I was skeptical, so I just hauled my butt to the store bright and early to make sure I got Stereo Rose.

for this same reason.. i DONT do my mac hauls oncollections that first come out. bc they eother get backordered or get sold out. your best bet is to call your closest mac store and have them hold them for u to go pick up on the first day.
Honestly, I’ve never had a problem with it – I almost always order online these days, so I can overnight it & be able to swatch/review it on Wednesday.

I went into a UK store today and they had all the promo cards on the counter but they said it goes on sale on thursday 7th October. She said UK collections are always the first thursday of the month so that’s useful for future stuff.
BUT when she was looking for a regular product in the draws they were full of the VV stuff!! So annoying they don’t release it when they have the products in the store.
This is my biggest Mac haul ever. I saved myself the stress of fighting online by researching products here and on Spektra, then preordering them at Nordstroms. Very excited to go pick them up tomorrow!

This is a limited edition collection. There are no back orders. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. If your card was charged the full amount, don’t worry. Sit back, relax and your things will come in soon.
It is limited edition, but MAC does try to find additional stock elsewhere or perhaps halts orders after a certain point to ensure they have enough stock – because I’ve gotten a backorder notice on limited edition items and it’s been fulfilled by MAC.

Called c/s to check on shipping status & was told 1)hadn’t shipped yet and 2)can’t guarantee I’ll get all my goodies since so much has sold out. I know that the collection is sold out on the websites, but if you are in Chicago, go to the MAC Pro store on Armitage (right off the Brown Line). I was talking to a nice girl that worked there and she said they have had the VV collection out since last week Thursday. No one has really been coming in until the actual launch day (which is tomorrow?), but they have EVERYTHING from this limited edition collection in stock.
Today I picked up two products from the collection, as well as other things. The Mineralize e/s duo in my dark magic and then e/s in sweet joy.

So I can’t get enough of this collection. I bought $90 worth of stuff at the preview party last week and I placed an order online for Hot House lipglass… I couldn’t resist! MAC is evil for partnering with Disney on this one…
I had my boyfriend call for me – my order is STILL pending, according to the website, but they told him my things were already shipped. x; Possible?
That’s exactly what they told me. And my stuff also says pending >.<
I hope that that is possible — my order is also still “processing” but the money is taken out of my account so hopefully it is just being slow to change status online?
Ask for a tracking number, my order saids pending but it was actually shiped and should arrive tomorrow =]
Ok so I am freaking out. I ordered like 15 minutes after the products went up, and I got standard shipping. I did order revenge is sweet and bad fairy. My order is still showing as pending, I haven’t gotten a backorder notice but my credit card hasn’t been charged. Is it possible I could still end up backordered?
They only charge if they have your products. You can call to get a tracking number.
The collection is up on Dillards. Server is moving slow but it’s working, so just be patient. Happy shopping!

Does anybody know if Macy’s carries the whole collection in stores because on their website they only have a couple things.
After work I can either go to Macy’s which is 5 minutes away or drive an hour to the MAC store which will take 2 hours back because of traffic.
Macy’s online is sold out of a lot of things, that would be why.
I think that´s too much. They force us to buy compulsively, like if those things were free or something :S Sorry English is not my languaje

so I ordered one of the MES the other day, and granted, I did have some problems with the connection because the website was probably on overload. I did get an e-mail saying that they got my order/the confirmation and the order number but when I look at my MAC online, under the order status the MES doesn’t come up! It does, however come up in previously purchased. Anyone have this problem? WILL I GET MY MES? I’m scared that I won’t because they’re so popular!! Also ordered hot house this morning. So far, I got Wrong spell, violetta, hot house, and HOPEFULLY she who dares MES

I was the only person at my MAC store this morning. I feel a little obsessed, I thought there would be more people. Oh well, I got everything I wanted and got to try everything. I actually swapped out some of what I thought I would like for things I didn’t think I would. Like Toxic Tale looked awful on me, but Dark Deed is fabulous.
That was exactly the same situation with me! I went in and there was one other girl. It was kind of nice though because I got to look at everything I wanted and play around with the makeup! The girl at the counter said they got a lot of phone orders for the collection though.
M.A.C in Garden State Plaza Mall in NJ Villains Makeup is almost Sold out. I made sure I got there at 9 when it opens at 1030. I have my babys already.
I am currently studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was wondering if you or anyone knew when the Venomous Villains comes out here?

Just got home from Macy’s a few hours ago (driving in torrential downpour for an hour each way), and I’m STILL obsessing about my collection.
I picked up 3 glosses, a lipstick, and a blush.
My total collection now consists of (starting with the 5 items purchased today): Bite of an apple, Toxic Tale, Hot House, Revenge is Sweet, Wicked Ways, She Who Dares, My Dark Magic, French Quarter, Formidable! and Bad Fairy.
…. I think that’s all. XD

I made a quick trip to Bloomies/White Plains at lunch and scored all three nail polishes, My Dark Magic eyeshadow and French Quarter greasepaint stick. The is the second time I got MAC at Bloomies instead of the standalone store at the mall and I found the SAs very knowledgeable and helpful. I can’t wait to try Formidable!

I should have waited until today when the collection opened in stores to pick up my stuff instead of purchasing the products at maccosmetics.com.
I received an email from MAC online store letting me know that the Bite Of An Apple Blush is on back order. So I called them and canceled the order. I just figured I’d go to my local Dillards to pick it up from there. My other products purchased online still shows pending which I don’t even know what that means 🙁
So I went to my local Dillards and while I was driving there I was praying that they had my blush. Well, they DID 🙂 I am so excited. They have all the products from all four lines and they aren’t even sold out. Since I didn’t buy any lipsticks or lip glosses online I swatched a few at the store and in addition to buying my bite of an apple blush, came home with Strange Potion Lipglass and Heartless lipstick. I am so happy. I couldn’t buy the Heartless lipstick online without first trying it in the store.
So I’m very happy now. I just have to wait and see if I get all my stuff that I ordered online….
I just received My Dark Magic that I ordered from MAC on Monday @ 7pm EST!!! I also picked up my pre-order from Nordrom. I got Dark Deed l/s, Sinister l/s, Hot House l/g, Revenge is Sweet l/g, and Vile Violet e/s. I’m in makeup heaven right now. I can’t wait to wear it this weekend…

I went to the MAC store in Cerritos Mall in Cerritos California this morning and they had EVERYTHING but 3 items (the lighter liquid powder, I think Toxic Tale and I think Bite of an Apple). They had TONS of everything and I think there were about 9 of us waiting for the store to open. (go there if any of you are local to southern california and that store in particular)
I was in and out with the De-Vil shadow and the Cajun liquid powder within 10 minutes. (OMG That liquid powder is SO cool!! I swatched it on my hand and didn’t feel anything, but thought it was a cool shimmery bronzey color, then when I got home, I put a tiny bit on my powder brush and put it on my face and OMG felt like I put cold water on my cheek lol! Totally felt like the brush was wet. It’s very cool and it’s very sheer if applied lightly with a hint of sparkle/shimmer).
My order finally came today! i never received a shipping confirmation and i emailed mac about it this morning but ups dropped off my order just now 🙂 I only got three things darkly my dear, violetta, and devilishly stylish. I am satisfied with my purchases.

I am fairly new to makeup and if it werent for your swatches i would be in a jam :-X even though I am a mac C7 with dark olive undertones, i know that most of the things that look good on you does not look good me but i get an idea about how it all looks so i go based on that.

Has anybody that ordered online received a confirmation email?
I ordered a couple items about 15 mins after the collection launched, but my order is still pending. I’m not sure if the items sold out that fast, or if MAC is just a little behind because of all the orders for the cellection.
I haven’t received a confirmation email and my order status also says pending. I’m a little frustrated because I don’t know if I’m going to get it and I also don’t want to buy it from a MAC counter because I might get it in the mail 🙁 So sad!!!

My mac order arrived a couple hours ago. My order STILL says pending and I’m holding the lipglass in my hand lol so don’t worry. I ordered around 7:20 est on Monday night. I called mac today to check my order status and they said it was out for delivery so I suggest you just call them and check. My debit card said the whole amount was deducted so you could check that as well to verify it all went through. Hope this helps!
I placed my order about 17 minutes after the collection launched, mine still says pending. I called customer service and they said my order has shipped. I got the tracking number and it is scheduled to be delivered on Monday. I bet yours is on its way as well.
Disappointed in this collection. Didn’t have anything I found interesting. Was absolutely hounded by the MAC girl, until I broke down and bought a lipglass I had seen on here. Tried it on at home, then realized I didn’t actually want it at all. Will return it tomorrow, an will never ever talk to a salesperson unless I know I am in a sound state of mind :/
Anyone in Phoenix,AZ- i got everything I wanted at Mac in Dillards at Arrowhead Mall. They seem to have quite a bit of stock. I purchased Briar rose, bite of apple, bad fairy, wicked ways, hot house, revenge is sweet,oh so fair, vainglorious,and darkly my dear.
As of 4pm EST the Mac @ Macys Menlo park mall was only sold out of bite of an apple. If anyones in the central Jersey area might want to check them out if you cant find some things. I was also the only person at the whole mac counter at 4.

After all of my complaining the other day…. I stopped in to the counter at Nordstrom after work today. I got there around 6pm, expecting a lot of things to be gone, but they were not sold out of anything. They had four drawers stuffed completely full of product. They usually sell out of popular items quickly, so I don’t know if this collection just isn’t hot around here, or if they just got a lot of stock in. (The sales girl said they were “taking measures” to make sure they didn’t run out too quickly. (She also said they “needed” product for next weekend, not sure what is going on then.) I’m not quite sure what that meant, LOL!
Anyway, I picked up several things that I didn’t think I’d be interested in from swatches, but I liked much better in person: Cruella: Devilishly Stylish and Her Own Devices.

Just got back from Nordstrom! I got in the mail today De-Vil eyeshadow (which I LOVE) and Wrong Spell lipglass (I have to admit I’m dissapointed. It’s just not wearable enough for me. Too dark, too brown.).
At Nordstrom, I got Devilishly Stylish lipgloss (cute, but really easily duped), the black Greasepaint (LOVE. this thing will NOT budge!), and Carbon eyeshadow. This is SUCH A FREAKIN CUTE COLLECTION! Love love love. I may go back later and get the Cruella De-Vil blush…
I’m devastated! I made an order on MAC online two days ago, and today I check my email and they sent an email saying that they could not verify my address! I then called customer service and gave them my address and asked the lady if my order will be sent and she said she didn’t know…. Please MAC, send me my order because eveything I ordered is now sold out! Wish me luck ladies!

I couldn’t pre-order because I don’t live in the States. Luckily, I got all the things I want just when Nordstrom put the collection on their website…haha…so happy….
I had to babysit today, so there was NO way that I could get to a MAC until after 4pm.Well the plan was to leave at 4pm, but I ended up getting to MAC @6PM!! I was freaking out like mad, but when I got to the MAC store they had everything I wanted.I would have died if I didn’t get my Bite Of An Apple blush!!
I didn’t go to mac or macy’s yesterday because I didn’t have makeup on and my hair looked a mess haha. (I feel like I have to look good when I go to mac or the mac counter) But I plan on going today and hopefully they aren’t sold out of the things I want. But there are 4 macy’s, 2 nordstroms, and 2 mac stores within 20 minutes of my house so I’m not worried.

I’m soooooo mad!! I ordered as soon as it went on sale on Monday. They’ve been telling me since Tuesday that my package was going to be sent out the following day (every time I called it was “it’s going out tomorrow” or “it’s going out tonight”)
SO I call today and get a tracking number (since my stuff still says pending on the website and I haven’t gotten a “your item has been shipped” email) and I check and it says my delivery was rescheduled and it won’t be here till next Tuesday. So that means that it was going to be delivered sooner, but someone called and had it rescheduled. Ugh :/ Now I’m wishing I would have just bought everything on Thursday when I went to the MAC store (Since they had everything).
If anyone is in the San Diego area I was at the MAC store at Fashion Valley today and they had a ton of stuff, didn’t look like anything was sold out.

I have a question. I ordered online close to the time it was released on MAC.com. They said it would be processed in 1-2 business days, and I understand they’re probably at high order volume right now, but I’m paranoid that a lot of the stuff that I ordered (which is out of stock now)won’t come to me. Do you know if I ordered it and they said they had it, that I will definitely get it? Thanks in advance!

The MAC.com order I made Tuesday morning was waiting on my doorstep on Friday! I absolutely love all the colors. Still figuring out how to use the mineralize shadow but the color payoff is amazing. The Formidable! nail laquer looks even better in person. My Bad Fairy/Briar Rose/Melon order from Nordstrom.com is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.

so i sent my cousin in san fran to mac for me. But my b/f (in LA) was worried that i wouldnt get the stuff i wanted on thursday (because i have work) so he very sweetly went too.
Anyway, I now have lots of doubles and some triples :S that i’m looking to sell on.

Has anyone recieved their VV stuff yet? I ordered mine Sept 27 and it’s not Oct 4 and it’s still listed as “pending”. This is my first MAC order so maybe I’m just used to Speedy Sephora….
Mine is still pending… I called the other day, because I ordered it immediately when it launched and the MAC lady told me I should be getting it tomorrow, Oct. 5th.

Have had exactly the same email except mine was telling me the Toxic Tale was out of stock, phoned to complain but all you get is the standard “can only apologise for this”. My parcel arrived this morning (I opted for Saturday 12 noon delivery) and computer printout states that all items I ordered had been despatched, which includes toxic tale – not there, and horrors! strange potion should have been in the box but was not there either. Immediately phoned MAC and got the feeling that the girl didnt beleive me that the item was missing. Going to try and take the complaint further next week when senior staff will be back in the office. By the way my order was placed around the same time as yours and I know for a fact these items were still showing as being in stock late afternoon because I initially ordered at work then checked the website when I got home.
Sorry for the rant but I used to think MAC was a great company but cannot say I am impressed with their customer service. And yes it is only makeup but there is also the principle.
Venomous Villains has just launched online in the UK in the last few minutes. I saw items appearing one at a time, and now it’s up completely. Got everything I wanted 🙂

Why did they put it on in the UK on a monday morning!!! I only got Formidable, i wanted all 3 lacquers. I rushed home from work as quick as i could but couldnt place my order until 17.45. Im gutted. Ive been checking the website every day for a week and i still miss out.

I wasn’t going to get innocence beware lipstick at first but I am SO glad I did. It is my new favourite lipstick. It is perfection on my lips. I’m going to try to get 2 backups

Okay. <3 My package finally came in the mail. I'm positive everyone who ordered online, standard, should be getting theirs as well. ^^ All is well.
Well, after ordering as soon as I saw items starting to appear on the MAC website yesterday, then getting an email many hours later telling me that almost everything I wanted was out of stock by the time it reached the warehouse, I emailed them back to complain – why doesn’t their website show when something is out of stock until many hours after it’s sold out? Hard to believe it was already sold out within minutes, too!
Anyway, this morning I phoned a department store in my county which has a MAC counter, to ask if there was anywhere else that sold MAC online, since I am unable to leave my caree, and she very kindly checked if they had those items in stock (doesn’t go on sale at counters until tomorrow) and offered to post them to me tomorrow. Such a lovely lady! I thanked her profusely. Fingers crossed that MAC don’t now tell me anything else I ordered is out of stock
Where I said ‘when it reached the warehouse’ I meant when my order reached the warehouse.
They sold out so quickly in Australia… before I knew it, most of the collection was gone and I was too late to even try Strange Potion. @_@
