I’m a bit disappointed in the palette one. It seems like a lot of repeat shades from previous releases.
Also, do you have the matte 9 pan palette from MUFE? (I couldn’t find a review?) I am torn, because it seems gorgeous, but maybe a bit too cool for me.
It’s here. Intragoogle it. Got it and like it. It’s not overly cool to me, but I run coolish.
Again with the repeated shades in the palette… Why? I have over half of those shades in other palettes.
Found this so I’m sharing:
S102 Onyx was in Nudes You Need and in last year’s Holiday Palette
D522 Crystalline Gray Beige was in Colors You Crave
I220 Sapphire was in 30 Colors 30 Artists Collection
ME302 Peacock was in Colors You Crave
ME122 Snow was in last year’s Holiday Palette (and the year before’s Studio Case and 30 Artists)
ME108 Steel was in the year before last’s holiday case and the 30 artists collection
ME614 Graphite Brown is new
D712 Creme Brulee is new (though this might be a misprint as the color in the pic looks pink, not copper brown)
ME912 Orchid is new
I “recycled” my MUFE palettes so I may get this if I can get a good deal.
That’s really helpful Michelle!
Thank you for this! I thought there were a lot of repeats.
D712 I’m not surprised by the confusing pink tone because the softbox lighting is shown the pink undertone only. It more of a rose gold type copper.
Too many dupes for me to get this palette at this price point.
Saved me the time of looking it up. Thanks. Might be able to skip this one, though I had high hopes for the seasonal mufe shadow palette. Why get nine for four? Not impressed enough with their new pencils to spring for a vault. (The more I rule out, the more likely Cle can come to my house!)
Wow, Michelle – as others have said, this is super helpful. Sephora (at least in Canada) has one of the MUFE palettes on sale and it seems a much better buy than this one, with all the repeats from other palettes.
Are more brands trying to repackage pre-existing shades for holiday releases this year than in previous years, or is my perception off?
It’s depressing how many brands are just re-packaging the same shades over and over again for their holiday collections — BM, Too Faced, Tarte, Bobbi Brown, and now MUFE 🙁
It sure seems like it.
No. you are on the money. Mufe is noted for dupes, but at least you know. tf has mildly tweaked shades with significantly different names. BB is into reissues with that big nude palette…not that I don’t find most of her shadows pretty bloody similar. BM is so repetitive I barely wanted to read it. They all seem to be looking for the (least) common denominator and THE EASY WAY OUT.
Precisely…sigh
Hmm…why does this eyeshadow palette look so much like last holiday’s MUFE palette to me? I’m not getting blown away by this holiday collection either.
I really want to try MUFE’s eyeshadow palette but they have yet to make one that appeals to me. Their individual eyeshadows are so expensive, the palette is a much better deal but either it’s all matte or an odd color selection where only half the colors would look good on any given skin tone. I don’t know.
The eye pencil set is beckoning like a box of bon bons 😉
Not blown away but I like color selection of the palette and I didn’t get last years. Hmmm. Tempting.
I love the eyeliner set, however I don’t love the price tag!
The ARTISTIC AQUA XL EYE PENCIL COLLECTION is about $12.50 each per liner which is not bad but It’s a lot to drop in 1 go for sure.
It seems we rarely get the palettes here, we did get last years goldy neutral 9 palette so I am a bit tempted by this one. I’ll just have to see if it makes it’s way here, and how much they will charge for it.
Beautiful packaging, but why so many shadow repeats from past palettes, when MUFE’s Artist Shadow range is so huge? Also less colors than last year. I’ll guess I’ll get the mattes palette this year, instead.
That is exactly the most offensive aspect of all the repeats. They have a bazillion, so why?
D712 Creme Brulee is likely not a misprint, just a severely distorted photo. I took a screen shot and then adjusted the color so that Graphite Brown more or less matched the photo Sephora had for the full sized shadow and the result turned the pinky color into a peachy beige which matches the individual Creme Brulee pic quite well. *sigh*
Clearly this is exactly what I should have been doing instead of grading papers!
I don’t know how to add photos into comments here or I would show the comparison. Apparently you aren’t allowed to put up two reviews of the same product on Sephora or I would add them there.
I have some of the Artistic Aqua XL Eye Pencils. I purchased them because of the reviews that I’ve read and watched about the staying power and how they don’t fade until you remove it. I’ve not experienced that. I have to keep reapplying the eyeliner throughout the day. I’m so disappointed because the colors are beautiful.
