Challenge: Feline-Inspired Makeup

Challenge: Feline-Inspired Makeup

Edited:  Just wanted to bump this up!  Deadline is tomorrow night! 🙂

Last month’s “No Makeup” Makeup Challenge worked out really well and readers seemed interest in making it a regular part of Temptalia.  This month, the challenge is to create a look that’s feline-inspired–whether that’s a look that simply takes colors from your favorite feline, incorporating patterns, or getting inspiration from words associated with felines (e.g. strong, powerful, independent).   It can be a look you’d wear to the office or an elaborate mask–whatever your interpretation of the challenge is what I want to see.

I’d love to see and share your feline-inspired look with Temptalia readers! The deadline to submit your look is September 15th, 2010, so be sure to send me:

  • at least two (2) high quality images (at least 600px wide, no phone camera pics (!), color accurate, no watermarks)
  • a breakdown of what you used
  • a brief description of what the inspiration was for your look
  • a brief bio about yourself (2-3 sentences), include any website/blog link as necessary

E-mail your feline-inspired look to me by September 15th, 2010, 9PM PST to be included. Don’t be camera shy — we’re a friendly group here at Temptalia! But if you are camera shy, feel free to share your look via the comments (with a text breakdown).

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Your awesome Christine! I loved the natural look submissions I know his one will spark some really awesome looks. Any one who thought about it last time really should do this one. I submitted one and Christine made the layouts and everything really sleek. Totally do this even if you don’t think your good at it yet because I know someone will like it.

Drats! I was going to submit a photo but got caught up in cleaning. The look I was going to do was inspired by my dad’s brown tabby. Stila’s Kitten eyeshadow (how fitting) on the lid, Urban Decay’s Underground eyeshadow in the crease and along the lower lashline with the lighter green in Loreal Hip’s Riotous eyeshadow in the waterline. I definitely wanted to incorporate the green in his eyes in the look. Then Benefit Hula Bronzer all over the face, with Benefit’s Coralista blush oh the cheeks. And I finished it off with MAC’s Wonderstruck Lustreglass.

And of course, black winged out eyeliner!

Sorry for sound silly but… since in the other Country a MAC collection comes out about a month (or even after that!) than the US release… next time could you wait a bit more before opening a contest based on a specific collection?
I know that we aren’t compelled in using right those colours but, just in case a person has an inspiration right from one of those…

Just an idea, thank you

Another challenge! 🙂 I will, however, sit this one out. I realized that I’m not really a Feline kinda girl. I see sexy smokey eyes with golds and black and charcoal and I don’t really do those colours.
Too timid…. ha!
On the other hand…. I might just decide to take this challenge, get over my fear of being brave with darker colours and go for it!
I see we have till September 15th to submit, so after gym tonight, I might try my hand at some sexy feline eyes and lips… 🙂

Ummm. last minute question. One entry per person? I have a bronzey look I kind of want to submit, but I already had plans to do a dramatic tiger striped one, so I don’t know if I should only do one or the other? I’m sure you have a LOT of entries.

well, I just sent the one I was debating! I don’t think i’ll be able to get the other one done in time so it’s probably better safe than sorry.

I can’t wait to see what everyone submits!
