What’s your “No Makeup” Makeup Look?

My “No Makeup” Makeup Look!

What’s your “No Makeup” Makeup Look?

Above is my “No Makeup” makeup look–it’s quick, easy, but it’s still very flattering without being heavy or obvious.  I mean, duh, we can all tell I’m wearing makeup (but really, would we be the beauty lovers we are if we couldn’t tell?!)–but it’s subtle, natural.   I’m wearing a medium coverage foundation (Make Up For Ever HD in 140), pink lipgloss (Dior Pink Corset #857 Ultra Gloss Reflect), neutral blush (Korres #15 Natural Blush), black eyeliner (Shiseido Black Sand Eyeliner), and mascara (MAC Plushlash).  I haven’t styled or done anything to my hair – this is how it dries naturally (flyaways and all, haha).

I’d love to see and share your “No Makeup” Makeup Looks with Temptalia readers! I’ll be posting a round-up featuring readers’ looks on Friday, so be sure to send me:

  • at least two (2) high quality images (at least 600px wide, no phone camera pics (!), color accurate)
  • a breakdown of what you used
  • a brief description of what you love most about your look
  • a brief bio about yourself (2-3 sentences), include any website/blog link as necessary

E-mail your “No Makeup” Makeup Looks to me by tomorrow (Thursday), 9PM PST to be included.  Don’t be camera shy — we’re a friendly group here at Temptalia!  But if you are camera shy, feel free to share your look via the comments!

P.S. — Happy birthday to my little sister, Meagan, who turns 20 today!

I’m quite a bit shy to send in my picture but when I want to do a no makeup look I just use Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer in Sand, some blot powder, Fleur Power blush and Cosmo lipstick (applied lightly) Or Twig+VGV lg 🙂

Katie Avatar

Christine, you look gorgeous! I mean, you always do, but I’m not used to seeing you rock the “no makeup” makeup look. I’m definitely going to participate, this sounds like fun!

Mel Avatar

You have lovely hair as well as a pretty face! I wish my hair would be like yours!

I actually often don’t wear much make up, but I love wearing it and experimenting with it when I have the time.

Today is a “no make up” day and I’m wearing concealer on pigmentation and under eyes, Benefit Powderflage, MAC MSFN in Medium Light, MAC Mineralise Blush in Dainty, and MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink. I’ve recently stopped wearing mascara every day because removing it is a pain! 🙂

Noelle Avatar

I might send something in, but for now:

usually if I have a “no makeup” day I don’t wear foundation, cuz my skin is pretty smooth. I’ll just wear concealer, MAC Painterly Paint Pot, MAC Ladyblush Blushcreme and TLC “Gentle Coral”.

Mel Avatar

Yeh, at the moment I’m using the MAC Cleanse Off oil. I use Lancome Hypnose mascara and, although I love how it looks on, taking it off I’ve found takes a little more effort than some other mascaras I’ve tried. I think I’m just a little lazy about it, that’s all! haha 🙂 (and i figured going without mascara sometimes probably isn’t a bad thing? 🙂

Megan Avatar

I’ll usually wear light brown eyeliner with a little bit of the dark brown on the outer edges of my eyes, mascara, cream blush or MAC Dame blush and a nice light lipgloss.

Karen Avatar

Love your “no makeup” look! I haven’t found my perfect neutral blush yet. I have more a cooler light – medium skintone. What would you recommend??

My “no makeup” look is my everyday makeup 😀 tinted moisturizer, mascara, brown eyeliner, & a little bronzer.

Kat Avatar

I’ve stopped wearing foundation/powder/blush/ect altogether and just wear SPF on top of a moisturizer and/or serum so my no makeup makeup look would be to skip eye makeup and just swipe on some brow gel and use YSL’s touche éclat under my eyes and lightly pat on MAC’s CCB in Hush on the tops of my cheek bones and bridge of my nose!

Kathy Avatar

Really pretty no-makeup look Christine, love that blush! 🙂 I have a question, when you say “no camera pics”, what do you mean? I’m a bit slow this morning (I blame a lack of caffeine lol) so I wasn’t sure what you meant.

Thanks!

Anna Avatar

Ok, I wish my hair looked like that when it dries and no styling! You are so beautiful! Oh and I have a question…What is your recommendation for a very natural blush for fair skin? I heard Mac Strada was a good one but you can’t purchase that anymore. Was that from a limited edition collection? (PS: no “overly” expensive brands please 🙂 I’m just 14!)

Anna Avatar

Thank you so much! Sorry to bombard you with another question but what is a nice fall/winter blush? The Chanel one you posted a while ago (the dark vampy purple) was lovely!

Diana B Avatar

I love that no makeuo look on you. For me I will wear neutrogena healthy glow tinted moisturizer, mac melba blush (my new love),mascara, mac wildly lush lg

http://thepaintedmask.wordpress.com/2010/06/11/wannabe-airbrushed-neutral/

That’s mine! MAC Vanilla, Kid, cork,Naked Lunch, a touch of Nylon on the lashline, a thin layer of black liner and waterline, MAC Prism blush BLENDED DOWN, and a mix of MAC Cherish and Fyrinnae bare Shoulders on the lips. Hardly ever wear that style though.

Skin is a mix of MAC NC15 studiofix, and Dior Forever in 010 ivory for a slightly dewy, but not very oily finish with good coverage.

dolce aria Avatar

Ah crap. I just noticed the email thing-I was a little rushed when I posted this! I wish I’d sent it in! It’s so fun seeing everyones stuff!

Are you going to do more of these reader submit themes? I’d love to see them!

Julie Avatar

I don’t think I’m brave enough to post a pic for all to see of me, but I can comment! lol! This is actually my everyday routine but I still consider it natural:
1. MAC Select Cover-Up in NW35 under my eyes for darkness.
2. Blush of choice for the day.
3. One coat of mascara (sometimes none at all).
4. Lipstick to compliment the blush.

That is all! You look lovely Christine and Happy Birthday to your sister!!

Lauren Avatar

I’m wearing my no make up look today. I mix a moisturizer with Spf with MUFE MAT+VELVET just to lightly even out my skin tone. Next, I dust my cheeks, eye lid crease and forehead with my dior honey matte 2 bronzer. I apply a couple coats of L’oreal voluminous and some brown or black liner under my lower lash line. I top the look off with MAC Angel or a gloss. all set. That whole looks takes about 3 minutes, depending on setting time for foundation

Katie Avatar

My “no makeup” look is Mac Studio Sculpt concealer, Mac MSF natural, Benefit Hoola Bronzer, Mac blushcreme in lady blush, Mac Allthatglitters eyeshadow swept lightly over the whole eye, mascara, and Benetint on my lips!

baby in a corner Avatar

i’d love to send in a pic but if i don’t have a chance i usually wear – MAC bisque matte eyeshadow which is pretty much similar to my skintone (fair), with a matte brown eyeshadow in the crease (isa dora duo in mulberry brown, not sure if available in the States). Mascara and brown liner on lower lashline (elizabeth arden smokey eyeliner). cheeks coral cream blush. Foundation – mix regular foundation with MUFE face and body to sheer it out but it won’t be as sheer as just Face and body! lips, lightly dab on MAC’s crosswires lipstick

Sorry about the grammar, i’m in a rush!

Michelle Avatar

My no-makeup look is Bisque on the lid, Wedge in the crease, and Blanc Type on the browbone. Either brown or black eyeliner — and mascara. Depending on what I’m wearing — I’ll use a pinky peach blush (like Pinch o Peach) — and a pinky peach lipgloss (like Florabundance l/g or On The Scene Cremesheen glass). Simple and easy 🙂

Caroline Avatar

I am very camera shy but i wanted to tell u my “no makeup” look. I pretty much wear this every day in the summer because im not one for heavy makeup. I put conceler on then set it with mac mineralize skin finish natural. Then i apply my bronzer and a very natural blush… i use a cheep one froom ulta. I wear covergirl lash blast mascara and no eyeliner. i prime my lid and wear a natural eye shadow and finally on my lips i wear macs tinted lip conditinor in fucia fix or politly pink.

mano Avatar

you look gorgeous with this look! quick question..could you tell me where i can find mac’s performance eyeshadow? thanks for all your help! xoxo

Ru Avatar

I too am camera shy, but I’d love to share my look:

Concealer (tarte) if I need it, bare minerals foundation & mineral veil; black/gray rimmed eyeliner on eyes (today: bobby brown gel liner in shimmering gray); korres lip butter (today: pomegranite).

I’ve got it on today since I went all smokey eye for hubbys birthday yesterday!

My “no makeup” look consists of :
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 in Porcelain
or
MAC Face & Body in C1
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
Neutrogena Eye Brightening Pen Spf 20 in Fair as concealer
MAC Lingering Brow Pencil
Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer
MAC Brule and Orb e/s mixed together on my lid (to cover the veins)
MAC Brown Down e/s to softly fill in my lashline
Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara in Black
Senna Buff face/eye color as blush
MAC Sweet Tooth Tendertone

Anitacska Avatar

Oh no, you scared me there for a minute, lol! I though we were supposed to post pictures of our faces without make up. I look awful without make up! 🙁

I will try to remember and take pictures tomorrow morning, but my usual “no make up” look consists of Avon Magix primer, Mac MSFN in Medium, Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero, some black mascara, Light Flush MSF on cheeks and Vaseline pink balm.

Virginia Avatar

I love this look on you 🙂
My «no make up» look (which is now my everyday look because of where I’m working) is simple.
I wear a concealer under my eyes and I use mac MSF natural in light-medium. I wear a little bit of blush (Moccha by Clinique). I highlight the inner corner of my eyes with blanc type e/s or some similar color and I put mascara 🙂 Nothing on my lips, just some moisturizer !

kali Avatar

Wow! I love your “no makeup” look -you look stunning! I can’t wait to see everyone with “no makeup.” I want to do one too now.

And happy birthday to your little sister too. =)

Ginna Avatar

That looks fab! Do you find that Shish eyeliner stays on the waterline well? I’m having trouble finding something that lasts and doesn’t smear.

Yumi Avatar

I use Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (Oil Free) in Nude, MAC By Candlelight MSF as a blush, MAC Creme d’Nude for lipstick and sometimes a bit of mascara. I do this a lot because I don’t like to look like I put too much effort in all the time and I generally favor neutral looks. I rarely use eyeliner and eyeshadow!

AshleyMelissa Avatar

OMG christine you are so fresh faced, you look even better without make up. Seriously! You don’t even need make up, but of course we ALL enjoy it, lol!

Kelly Avatar

When I’m pressed for time in the morning, I put on my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer or dust on my MUFE duo mat powder. I use mac Melba blush on cheeks, blacktrack fluid to my top lid and mac partial to pink l/g.

Kat Avatar

You look so beautiful here, Christine! This is my favourite look of all for your =)Especially love the black liner under your eyes, it makes it pop but in a subtle, natural way.

<3

Jessie Q Avatar

My “no makeup” look is no makeup. 🙁 But then I don’t go outside! It’s funny how fast I went from wearing very little makeup to feeling naked without foundation. Although, today I did wear no foundation, but that was only because I had to do my makeup super quickly initially, and I planned to to redo it, and then I never got around to redoing it. 🙂

bubbles Avatar

Thanks Christine 🙂 You look so pretty.

Here’s mine (I am not brave to put up a picture as well)
Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturer
Well Dressed blusher
Shu Uemura Painting Liner in Brown on upper lashline
Loreal Telescopic Mascara
MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink

woots !!!

Lauren Avatar

You look lovely. Do you have any tips for applying liner to your waterline? I can’t seem to get the hang of it (or lining anywhere near my lash line!)

Lauren Avatar

Also, what are your suggestions for a powder foundation? I don’t have enough time for liquid and I have found bareminerals to accentuate dryness too much

Hilana Avatar

You look really nice this way, Christine. Your natural looks are just so spot on.
Well, I decided to submit my no-make up look photos with some existing pics that I have. And since that is a very standard look I have, I know the products used by heart.

Allie Avatar

This is my second comment. I’m a newbie!
My ‘no makeup look’ is mascara of course! I have to wear mascara. I like the new MAC Opu lash. Some concealer I use MAC select cover up. I like that its not too thick so I bring it down to cover some of the redness on my checks (I use a 217 MAC brush) then some blush. My fave is MAC’s warm soul (permanet) its a Mineralize blush, some shine a sheer pink brown shade. And last for the lips I use MAC’s Cremesheen Glass in Delight (permanet). I love Cremesheen Glass they are smooth on the lips and not too sticky! 🙂

Petra Avatar

I love wearing lot of eyemakeup (and somehow my face can handle it without looking overdone), but actually I think I look best when sporting the “no makeup” look. I feel it’s really believable and like what makeup was “originally” made for (besides having fun and sometimes being totally out there :)).
-I use some concealer (basicaly any MAC one I have) and powder (Manhattan clearface, MAC MSF natural or Dianne Brill powder),
-some bronzer with some pink as blush (something like Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess bronzing blush or MAC’s Enough Said blush with some pinkish cream blush on the apples – I like the MAx Factor one),
-the most important step I find is using some very finely milled highlighter (MAC’s Shell Pearl or Sunsparked pearl, or my new fave Dianne Brill’s Nourishing Shimmer Gloss)
-for eyes some natural base (paint pot in Painterly or BB Shore), maybe some natural wash of colour (MAC Naked or Nanogold(love!)) and plenty of brown mascara (MAxFActor False Lash is perfect for these looks)
-since I have very sparse and light brows, I really find it helps to add character to my face -especially when wearing such a low key makeup look- to use a coloured browset on my brows. It’s also the quickest way. 🙂

Cherie Avatar

Happy bday to your lil’ sis!!

My no makeup look:
– NARS sheer matte foundation
– MAC blot powder
– NARS orgasam blush
– Korres lip butter
– Fix + fill in my brows
– mascara (whatever I have on hand)

Lately I’ve been adding some bronzer (NARS Laguna) for that sun kissed look 🙂

Aleena Avatar

Hey Christine, I was just wondering what you use to fill your brows in as they always look amazing.
My brow colour is pretty much your hair colour, but my actual hair is about 3 to 4 shades lighter.
At the moment i’m using a Shu Uemura hard 9 pencil in sound black 01
but you need a very light hand otherwise my brows just look like i’ve filled them in with black nail polish =/
I would love it if you were to recommend me something a bit lighter to fill my brows in with that would still suit my dark brows =]
thanks!
x

I LOVE your no makeup look! I submitted mine last night. I’m a bit shy, but I’ll live. 😛

I just realized that I forgot to include what I was wearing on my lips in the email, oops! In any case, it was MAC’s Cremesheen Glass in Creme Anglaise. 🙂

lea Avatar

What a great natural look. It’s almost the same same look I do on a daily basis, although I often use a bronzer and mac’s wedge under my lashline so the liner doesn’t look too harsh. Now I really want to get the shiseido eyeliner – how well does it last?

Laura Avatar

My camera’s broken so no pics, but my usual no make-up look is something like this:

Benefit Bad Gal Primer
MUFE HD foundation (115), just applied lightly to even out my skin
MAC Transparent finishing powder or MSF natural in light
Any naturalish blush
MAC By Candlelight MSF
UD Brow Box in Ginger Snaps
UDPP
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
MAC Naked Lunch e/s all over lid
MAC Shroom or Phloof e/s as a highlight
MAC Satin Taupe e/s to line
Any black mascara
MAC Laugh a Lot or Syrup lipstick

vania Avatar

This is a great idea! I just sent my pics to you hahaha. I like the natural look on you its pretty on you but yet not overpowering!

Ally_D Avatar

I couldn’t do a no make-up look today (Thursday) because I had an important meeting. But this is what I would wear:
– MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in NC20 on blemishes
– Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturiser in light
– Kryolan Anti-shine Loose Powder in transluscent
– MAC Bare Study Paint Pot on lid only to hide veins
– MAC Shroom Eyeshadow on lid only to set paint pot
– MAC Concrete Eyeshadow in brows
– 17 Clear Mascara to set brows
– Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara
– Benefit Coralista blush
– Sleek Pout Polish in Pink Cadillac

When I write it like this though it seems like tons of product!!
