I’ve included general sale highlights below, but these are some of my very top picks: Urban Decay Urban Spectrum Palette (now $29, was $55; review here), Urban Decay Anti-Aging Primer Potion (jumbo size for $10, regularly $24), Tarte Maracuja Oil (jumbo size for $48, regularly $75), and Make Up For Ever’s Artistic Artist Palette (now $34, was $42; review here).

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Wow, lots of stuff on sale! Uh oh, this means only one thing –they’re making space for the holiday collections. Hide your wallets!

I wish we had such a sale here! Makeup is hardly ever on sale. Or it must be deals like: buy two makeup products and get 25% off if you buy this weekend. Sorry for complaining, hahahaha! Probably better for my wallet that things do not get on sale. 🙂

Ordered the Spectrum palette yesterday! I’m trying to not just buy things when they are on sale but to take the time to make sure it’s still a good purchase, so I made sure to read your review before I purchased! Thanks!

Sort of Sephora Sale related – have you noticed they’ve been dropping big rewards without prior notice? They did say they were dropping new rewards on Tuesdays and Thursdays but there’s no notice on exactly when and what will be dropped. I find this a bit annoying as I’ve been saving up my points (just shy of 10,000) to try to get one of their “better” rewards. Now I’m only seeing then after they’re already gone! And yet I’m still hopping over on your link to check out the sales….

That little Kevyn Aucoin palette is awesome- I’ve had mine for a while now (it’s been in clearance forever) and it’s my go-to palette for work travel. Just add base+blush!

Anyone have thoughts/comments/opinions on the Anti-Aging Primer Potion compared to the original formula?

I am trying not to buy anything from this sale, but I am eyeing the spectrum palette?? should I ?? I know I have almost all the colours already and I know the packaging is so annoying ( for prctical reasons and traveling) BUT still it is UD quality eyeshadows and on SALE. So don’t know what to do ??

Do you like lots of shimmer and sparkle eyeshadows? If you do – well then this is the palette for you. Again if you like and use a wide variety of colours – blues, greens, purples and soft pinks – you will love this palette.
You can use your matte shades from other palettes as transition colours as well.
I think for $29 – I would be running all the way to Sephora.

Doesn’t seem to me like end of season makeup sales are quite as good as they use to be. I can remember end of season sales always offering a gift with purchase or some kind of “freebie” to entice customers to their sales. I think the same “nothing much” sales apply even to sales throughout the year and holiday sales. I don’t know if the cosmetic industry as a whole is suffering a decline; I’ve noticed price increases on certain items coming more frequently than say, 7 – 10 years ago. One way or the other, they are determined to keep making money, and I guess it’s with higher prices and “nothing sales”.
An interesting side point. When the US economy tanked several years ago, I read a very interesting article in “The Economist” magazine comparing the crash of the 2000’s with the great depression of the 30s anf 40s. Research was done on various products that suffered tremedous losses and those who held their place and those that increased. Increased?! The item at the top of the list of increased sales was lipstick. The article reasoned that during hard times, women could not afford new clothing, new shoes or new purses, but still wanted to buy something to make themselves feel better, they COULD afford to buy a new lipstick. So sales or no sales, price increases or not, a single lipstick is still worth the price.
