MAC Fabulous Felines Look: Mostly Neutral
MAC Fabulous Felines Look: Mostly Neutral
Here’s just a real quick look using some of the Fabulous Felines products! 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your Saturday… while I sit here on break from class, LOL. I don’t really recommend using the Superslick liners on the lower lash line — even when I used a separate brush (must!), it seemed to look less smooth there — I think it just dried around the individual lashes and didn’t work out. But I’ll try it again over the next week and see if I can get it working better next time.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (neutral eyeshadow base), MAC Lithe Pigment (golden nude beige), MAC Burmese Beauty Eyeshadow (brown with teal flash), MAC Skintone 2 Eyeshadow (muted gold), MAC Prized Eyeshadow (highlighter), MAC Marked for Glamour Superslick Liquid Eye Liner (silvered brown), MAC Smoky Heir Superslick Liquid Eye Liner (plum burgundy), Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara (black)
- Face: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (140), Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder (translucent)
- Cheeks: MAC Darkly My Dear Blush (reddened nude)
- Lips: MAC Kittenish Lipstick (reddened wine), MAC Docile Lipglass (icy pink)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Lithe = Naked (less golden); Burmese Beauty = Club; Skintone 2 = Goldmine (golder); Prized = Shroom; Darkly My Dear = ; Kittenish = Media; Docile = Cultured
For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Apply Lithe pigment all over the lid with the 239 and mixing medium. Using the 239, apply Burmese Beauty eyeshadow on the lower third of the eye lid along the upper lash line. Lightly blend Skintone 2 eyeshadow above Burmese Beauty eyeshadow and above the crease. Blend Prized eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Smoky Heir liner on the lower lash line and Marked for Glamour liner on the upper lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Inimitable Intense mascara.
For cheeks, apply Darkly My Dear blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Kittenish lipstick as a base color, then layer Docile lipglass on top for a complementing lip.
Absolutely GORGEOUS!
Thank you, Sam!
I just love this look!!!! Marked for Glamour looks amazing!! Can’t wait until these come out. I see what you mean though about the lower lash line which is too bad 🙁
Oh and I know you have trouble with liner on your upper lashes – did this applicator bother you??
Thanks, Andrea!
Yes, I did, but it has nothing to do with the product – after trying 40+ different products and techniques, it’s just anything touching it. Even if I rub my eyes (with nothing on), I can trigger a similar (though more minor) reaction.
This is really pretty on you, thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot, Laura!
That’s an amazing neutral look! I’m gonna have to try that 🙂
I hope you do! 😀 Thanks, Aimee!
Marked for Glamour looks spectacular on you!
Thanks, Amy!
I really want lithe pigment! I don’t own the other two pigments similar to it, so now I’m determined to get it!
Hope you love it, LU!
So pretty! <3
Thank you, Holly!
This is really pretty. Your looks are so much prettier when you put liner on your upper lash line. It just brings out your eyes more!
Thanks, Shannon! I always feel like it weighs the eye down, but maybe I am just used to the way it looks without 🙂
That shadow is GORGEOUS at close up! Love it!
Thank you, Sharon 🙂
What beautiful lashes. The Chanel mascara does wonders
Thank you!
Ahh, you look so pretty!! I love the second pic of you! Thanks for posting a look so quickly 🙂 I’m really loving the lips here.
I’m starting to get excited about the liners after reading about them here…are they really easier to use to do the cat eye? I’ve seen your other tutorials involving the winged liner look but I still have SUCH a hard time getting both eyes to look good, ya know? Usually just ONE turns out great, and the other…not so much!
Thanks a lot, Elle! 🙂 They’re not *difficult* but it may take a few tries to get it perfect! Have you used any of the many felt-tipped liners out there? Or even MAC Penultimate?
I have tried the Penultimate–personally I didn’t think it was that easy to manuever, but I also don’t know if I practiced with it enough! 🙂 I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for some other felt-tipped liners. Thanks again Christine!
It’s easier than Penultimate, but not THAT much easier (I do find Penultimate easy enough) – I think a little practice may help you, though!
i know in your review for fab felines you said you weren’t so enthused by the collection, but this look really reinforces for me why i’m looking forward to it!
it’s such a beautiful look…love the eyes especially, though i every time i see one of your looks with liner on your upper lash line i feel very concerned… (you are so dedicated to endure the pain for your readers!)
just wondering, not sure if i missed something, but where/how did you use lithe pigment? was it just an allover wash?
Thank you! 🙂 It’s all good – usually if I remove it quickly, any pain/irritation doesn’t last more than an hour!
All over the lid itself as a colored base (on top of Smudgeproof)!
i ended up doing a fab feline look with some dupes i have, just to kind of cut down on the number of items on my wish list…so i’m down from $300 to $200! haha…that’s STILL totally not happening…i might just end up getting a liner and some pigments instead of forking over money for the palettes…cuz there’s still the fall nail polishes…
Awesome 😀
This looks amazing! You are so beautiful. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you so much, Kay!
christine, LOVING your lashes in this look!
Thanks, Phungk!
That lip combo looks stunning!
Thank you, Liz!
That lip looks amazing on you!! 🙂
Thanks, Katie!
Absolutely stunning, Christine! A suggestion: I don’t own Club. Do you think I should get Club or Burmese Beauty (which I love on you, BTW!)?
Well, Burmese Beauty you’d have to buy in a quad, so… it’s more expensive. You could also consider Too Faced’s Label Whore (more pigmented/smoother than Club)!
These shimmery nude eye looks are my favorite! I’m really lemming Lithe right now.
Thank you, Ellen! 🙂
Also, I just noticed how crazy awesome your iris looks – there’s a beautiful speckled pattern there! Are you wearing contacts or is that natural?
Natural 😀
So pretty! I’ve been feeling the neutrals lately, too!
Thanks so much, Mel!
CHRISTINE I KNOW I SAY EVERY LOOK IS MY FAVE, BUT THIS IS MY FAVE.
And it’s so FALL-seasony! It makes me want snow and hot chocolate! 🙂
Haha! But that’s a good thing 🙂
Thank you!
Beautiful!
This eyeliner is really unique and makes you eyes pop!
And the lipstick is absolutely gorgeous on you.
Thanks, Maya!
so the liners are lower lash line safe?? i was wondering about that!
Lower lash line, but I would imagine not waterline safe.
Very simple and pretty look! I think this the first time I’ve seen you with liner on you upper lash line! 🙂
I have maybe 40-50 looks with upper lash liner, I think, lol! Not many, but some 🙂
I love love love this look! So going to try it myself!
Thank ya, Valerie!
This look is gorgeous, and I love how you always break down looks. Since you often to lipgloss on top of lipstick, I was wondering if it would ever be possible for you to do two separate lip pictures–one w/ just the lipstick, before you add gloss. That would be helpful to people like me who are more inclined to wear only one product (usually lipstick). Not sure if this look is a good example b/c you recently did the swatch pics of just the lipstick, but maybe with others. . .
Thank you, Elizabeth! I actually try to only wear products I’ve swatched individually (these days!) – you can click on the product name in the breakdown and it will take you to the review/swatch of it! 🙂
The look is absolutely beautiful. Really pretty. I wish I could use those liners but, any amount of glitter (esp that much glitter) feels like sandpaper/broken glass on my eyelids let alone any possible fallout that would inflame the rosacea on my cheeks.
Thanks a lot, Melissa! 🙂
Lovely, I can really get a feline vibe off it!
Thank you, Etaoin 🙂 Hope you’re well!
Very pretty!
Thanks, Jennifer!
I love how you did your eyeliner! My eyes come or bulge out more so it is a lot harder to do winged eyeliner.
Thank you, Jessa!
I love the look but I don’t like the look of this liner. :/ This is one of the products I am holding off on in this collection. I dunno if I like liquid eyeliner
What don’t you love about the liner? Just curious 😀
LOVE THAT LINER!!!!! What a unique color!
Glad you liked it!
Luuuurv the last pic 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
perfecttt makeup christine!!!
i would also love this look with the beige lipgelle.!!like the models on the show!
Thanks so much, Vikaki!
This look is SO beautiful! Loving the eyes…. definetely something I would rock
Thank you, Ellen!
I really wish I knew! I really was excited to see what it looked like on the actual eyelid, since I was interested in the greens originally. I like the way it looks from a distance, just not close. If that makes sense. It’s not the way you handled the liner by no means, it’s the product itself.
What do you think of the liner over all? I am so horrible with liquid liner, but I honestly have not given it much of a chance.
I liked it! I don’t find it super, super easy, so maybe if it were, I’d love it, but I love that it’s opaque and very smooth.
Wonderful look! Super sophisticated!
Thanks a lot, KFM!
When I saw your pic of you wearing Kittenish, I thought it was too dark for me, but it looks so much more wearable with the lighter gloss on it, that I might just be tempted to get it.
