I have combination skin and my nose loooooves to shine, so blot blot blot first, a light touch of powder foundation, and then a spritz of spf setting spray. Bam, (mostly) flawless again!
Hi I was reading ur comment and wondered what kind of setting spray u use that has SPF in it? And do u think it would work for oily skin? with my age trying to keep up with SPF. If u don’t mind letting me know. I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Yes, that’s the one I use! I have combination skin, my nose can get pretty shiny and I have never had any problems with it. It’s the Supergoop Refresh setting mist with rosemary.

I don’t, other than lipstick. If I put it on properly it goes nowhere and doesn’t need touching up.
If I’m touching up after work, before going out for example, I use blotting papers and/or reapply powder, brush my brows back into place, add a bit more blush or highlighter if it faded, and reapply lipstick.
If we’re talking of touchups throughout the day, I blot if necessary and reapply my lipcolor, usually just once after lunch.
Once I’m out and about, I usually just touch-up my lipstick and/ or lipgloss, *perhaps* dab some powder on any greasy spots, fix eyeliner if my eyes have not been behaving themselves, or put another way, watery. That’s about it!
Haven’t found a way to prevent makeup from creasing on my eyelids and beside my nose (I set with powder), so I blend out creases with a finger. Depending on the extent of oiliness, I blot with a tissue or Clean & Clear’s blotting sheets, the powder with a pressed compact. I also touch up lipstick, if necessary.
Yen, a Sephora SA turned me on to Urban Decay’s eye shadow primer, and it is the best, as my lids “eat” eye makeup. I put some on, let it dry, and then put the eye color on. It lasts all day, like nothing I ever used before. There are three formulas I believe— a matte one, Eden; a shimmery one, and then an anti aging formula. I like the matte “Eden” best. Sephora also sometimes sells it in a travel size.

After lunch at work, I will do a quick touch up using blot paper, pressed powder on T-zone, blush on cheeks. Around 2 pm, I will take a q-tip and wipe up away any eye makeup that’s smudged and spot re-apply sunscreen. Then before I leave, I’ll powder my T-zone again and apply blush b/c my cheeks eat blush. If it’s cold or windy outside, I spritz my face with hydrating mist to boost hydration. Since I sip tea/water all day long, I’m constant re-applying lip products unless they stain my lips.
I tend to either wear minimal makeup or if it’s a more “done up” look, for a briefer period of time, so don’t usually do too much touching up. I usually throw a pressed powder (usually the Bourjois Healthy Balance one) and whatever lip product I’m wearing in my bag (and sometimes mascara) and only reach for it if need be.
The only items I carry with me are a compact of pressed powder, lipstick, and gloss. I usually only need to reapply my lipstick or add gloss because my lips feel dry.
I rarely do. If I do it’s blotting my face with a tissue and touching up my lipstick. I don’t even bring powder! But often it’s because it’s not a habit for me to bring any.
Depends. Usually I just do a mid-day powder touch-up to take away shine. But if I’m going out in the evening I’ll also reapply eye pencil and clean up any messes.
Beyond putting on lipstick that’s worn away or using powder on my nose/t-zone in summer if I’ve got oily, I usually don’t touch up.
Since I’m such a greaseball from about 10am onwards I usually blot my face with a few blotting sheets then slap on some face powder. My eye makeup tends to stay where it is for most of the day.
The only think I tend to reapply is lippy after lunch!
I have a small bag with powder, concealer and lipstick that I carry around and never use. I sometimes remember to reapply my lipstick, but not very often.
I put my makeup on at about 6/6:30 AM on a weekday, so on weeknights that we go out to dinner, etc, my face is looking pretty tired by the evening. I usually apply a fresh layer of powder to my t-zone, refresh my inner eye highlight (this makes such a difference!) and sometimes add a little eyeliner as well. I prefer to touch up eyeliner as opposed to mascara because I feel like it layers much better – adding new mascara on top of old usually comes out flaky/chunky in my experience. If I’m still looking worn I’ll add a little blush or illuminator, too. 🙂
Just a heads up – I used to do eyeliner only as well, but I’ve found that the tarteist Lash Paint mascara actually layers very well without clumping or flaking!
I try to avoid touching up makeup by buying products that will see me through 8 hours or so. Ditto, I might occasionally apply a little more powder and check for mascara flakes or flecks under the eyes, slap another coat of lip product on. If I have been wearing makeup during the day and have something special happening that evening, I will make the time to start from scratch because I often feel like clawing at my face if my makeup has been on too long. In winter when dryness is more of an issue, I might refresh by applying Jane Iredale D20 spray.
Most days I do not touch up and just reapply lipstick.
For eyes I keep a small Inglot 3 eyeshadow with mirror case in my bag. It contains one neutral matte rainbow (Inglot 3 in 1, the colors can be used for brows), and two colors (Catrice) – inner corner highlight and shimmer beige or brown. On normal days I usually rub my inner hightlight off, but this week I’ve got watery eyes, and the tears remove about half of my flick before I get to work. Strange way to ruin my eyeshadow work, but at least the mascara stays untouched. I do not re-do the flick but just darken the area with the darkest eyeshadow I have.
Another thing that I might need to touch up is spot concealer if my skin isn’t it’s best. For my bag I keep a concealer from a cheap local brand. Not only it is tiny, but also it adjusts to my skin color all year round. To freshen/blur the rest of the face i keep a pressed powder. After my last one just crumbled (about two years of shaking in my bag), now I carry around a Bourjois compact with a mirror.
For brushes I’ve got tiny EcoTools set of three- face brush, shadow brush and angled (which is used for spot concealer). Too small for a regular makeup, but perfect on the go.
Besides two integrated mirrors I carry a separate mirror in a better accessible pocket of my bag just for reapplying lipstick. And of course everyday I have like 5 too many lip products in my bag. Just can’t decide in the morning.
I have super oily skin, so mostly I just use blotting papers. If it’s a special occasion. Or particularly long day, I might bring a powder and travel brush to pat back on if my foundation starts to fade. Very rarely do I have something that requires touching up eyes or cheek color. I touch up my lips several times, usually, but that’s not uncommon. Unless it’s a formula that doesn’t like to be layered (like some liquid lipsticks), I just reapply over whatever is left in my lips.
Generally it’s only lipstick that gets touched up in public. I’ve tried using my phone as a mirror, but have not found an app that clear and focused enough. So I use an ancient Clinique lipstick case in silver that was a freebie. It has a mirror and at least a dozen people thru the years have asked me where I got it as they want one. So where do you find an attractive, lightweight mirror for a small clutch or purse?

When touching up I make sure to pat the makeup on, not rub or buff because that can cause weird streaking or patching that I won’t be able to fix no matter what. If I have the opportunity to touch up with my liquid makeup, I use a stippling brush. Tinted powder is best on the go and I dab it on with a kabuki brush that I keep in its own little nylon bag. My favorite is MAC MSF Natural because it is very skin-like looking, not too dry and doesn’t cake up. If I can I dab off any oil with toilet paper before reapplying anything. And less is more, I only reapply to areas that are showing wear, and just one thin layer.
I’ve been having a lot of success with the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi. I used to constantly add powder to my face but the Blotterazzi kind of re-mattifies everything without moving existing makeup. I didn’t really expect it to work when I got it but it turns out to be one of my most-needed purse items.
I also have it but have not tried it Yet. Will try it tomorrow. Hope it works on me too.

It depends. A couple of favorite eyeliners and shadows that always need a touch up mid- to late-afternoon; others last all day. Most of my blushes don’t need anything, but sometimes. I’m finding my new NARS concealer lasts a good part of the day, but if I’m more broken out than usual, I’ll need to touch up in the afternoon. I’ll touch up before important meetings, and always something on my lips before any meeting; always touch up before nights out, if not starting all over again. So basically, at lunch and mid-afternoon, or en route in long flights, I’ll see how it’s going and then before I head out. Weekend days — rarely but sometimes.
Throughout the day I’m using my trusted Boscia blotting linens if needed. If blush needs to be reapplied, I use either some dabs of the LAQA & Co Cheeky Lip pencil or the Physician’s formula Cashmere Wear Ultra Smoothing Blush (comes in a small mirrored compact with a brush). And sometimes, an illuminator at the inner corners of my eyes, inner corners which turned blue for some reason in the past three years (although I don’t have any dark circles).
For the lips, if I cannot reapply the lipstick/lip liner properly, using a mirror or in a washroom, (personally I do not like to do it in public) , I use a colour enhancing lip balm and it does wonders in that it blends whatever remains from my lipstick. Recently I’ve discovered the Arrow Boost Color Enhancing Lip Balm; it’s transparent but when applied it enhances the color of my lips, sort of MLBB . Bonus, I don’t even need a mirror for an exact application :).
I blot, powder if needed, clean up any under eye smudging, and reapply lip product.
I don’t do a lot of touching up. I reapply lip color as necessary. I blot my T-zone with blotting papers and if necessary, powder it after blotting. If needed, I’ll touch up the eyeliner on my waterlines.

Carefully!!! I use only tissue or blotting papers and I only pounce or blot never move the make around. Believe me in 100+ degree weather, you’ll touch up because you have no choice! Sweat proof- bah hambug!!
I bring whatever eyeliner I have in my waterline, oil remover for liquid lipstick, balm, lip primer, brushes, q tips, concealer and whatever lip products I’m wearing to work with me.
I typically remove all lip product prior to eating lunch and then redo it. (Sometimes I remove it before breakfast too since I eat breakfast and lunch at work.)
Everything else is usually fine.
I usually touch up my lipstick, add a bit of added blush and blotting powder if necessary.
Blotting paper against shine. And reapplying Lipstick if needed. If it is really Hot or high humidity I take pressed powder with me just in Case I Need it.
I know this is silly. But the people in my life like to “tease” me for my makeup lovin’ ways. So I get MAJOR anxiety about makeup around people!! So If i’m out to eat with others, i’ll sneak into a bathroom stall and pull out my phone and touch up my lipstick, take a blotting sheet to my oily nose/forehead in the secrecy of the bathroom stall. Ahaha.
I don’t know if this COUNTS. But in my bag, I keep a little IPSY bag with everything i’d need if I had to leave the house without makeup on. (There’s a concealer, a powder, powder brush, mascara, colour tattoo, eye primer, a travel eye liner, and tinted lip balm/gloss!!) So I keep a ton of stuff for touch ups with me,. But I at most touch up my lips or my nose! ahaha.

I usually throw in my makeup bag what I put on in the morning. My pressed powder, blotting papers, my lipstick, lip liner and lipgloss. My mascara, eyeliner. My blush with my favorite brush. And I am great for 12 to 16 hour’s! Sometimes I need a whole revamp and sometimes a little revamp. ??
I’m an oily grease ball so I blot all day with It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder. I absolutely love it. It blurs my pores and doesn’t leave a white cast on my face.

I find when I use UD setting spray I don’t need to touch up my face but when I do its with a touch of setting powder. Always checking my lips and for smudges but with Dior mascara I find no smudging.
I don’t. Once it is on that’s it; if it looks fresh or not I am done. At most I might apply more lipstick if it is a gloss. If I have Amore Pacific Moisture Skin Energy Mist at my disposal I will give that a spray I love the way if feels and how it sets makeup. Also, when I get home that is the first thing I will do is remove my makeup. I love having a nice clean face after wearing makeup all day.
Although I’m an oily girl, I rarely have enough shine coming through to have to fix since I discovered Skindinavia setting spray (bridal finish). On the rare occasions I do, I use either Peter Thomas Roth mattifying gel (works so well) or a few pats of powder foundation. I also carry my eyeliner of the day with me as well as lipstick. At about ten hours in (I apply makeup around 6am), I sometimes touch up contour and blush.
For going out after work — A little dusting of Hourglass Ambient Light in Dim Light, and a light pop of blush, all with a fan brush. Then fresh lipstick and gloss.
Touch ups for me include adding more lipstick, a bit of powder and perhaps some blush.
I don’t wear heavy makeup and blend, blend, blend. Mostly I reapply lipstick and think of carrying an eyeshadow since it always fades away whether a expensive or drugstore brand. But I’m not going to bother with the eyeshadow like to keep simple and light and dance the night away if in a party. Lipstick is the one! ?

Apart from the obvious lip touch-up, I use Shiseido blotting papers and I have Tom Ford stick foundation and CdP concealer in my make-up bag if I need some additional overage.
I put my make up on early in the morning and I take it off when I go to bed. Depending of the weather I touch up but it is usually the same:
– blot paper
– blot powder type
– fix +
– blush
– lipstick
Like I said I usually don’t touch up but when I do I use those products. And I do use full make up.
I usually use a little concealer I carry in a cosmetic bag in my purse, but also sometimes use Lauder’s Double Wear powder foundation in a compact for special occasions. I also touch up lipstick.
I reapply lipstick & refresh under eye concealor, that’s what typically fades on my face.
Usually, at noon I blot my nose and my T zone because I have combination skin and I’m shining, and if I applied lipstick I add a little touch to my lips 🙂
I always have issues with my nose so powder is a must do, lipstick i put on several times during the day i love the feel of creamy lips.
I actually do not touch up my make up. I am unfortunately cursed with excessive face sweating (under my eyes esp), gross I know 🙁 I’m hoping to get surgery to stop the glands from overproducing BUT I still slay my face the issue is that I end up wiping off my highlight and blush throughout the day if I get too hot…I’ve learned how to keep myself cool so as not to ruin my beat : ) Otherwise I end up wiping all foundation/concealer off and reapplying if I need to once i get home (and have plans) my eye makeup stays on all day!
Generally I don’t, but on the rare occasion that I do, such as when coming home before going out in the evening, I touch up my brows with my angled brush and powder, dust my t-zone with my powder brush, maybe put on a highlighter to “wake up” my face. I might add a little eyeliner but generally I find touching up the high points of my face to workwell.
Jeez…you just made me pull out a mirror and check if I need a touch up! All I really do is reapply lipstick, and sometimes I don’t have the one I was wearing on me. I do always keep a few tried and trues in my purse…a pink, a purple, and a nude. I check the corners of my eyes where I tear and might need to touch up the liner. Otherwise that’s it for a normal day.
I do always keep a brown eyeshadow in my purse. If I have to go somewhere and I don’t feel properly made up, some brown in my crease and some lipstick are good enough. I almost always have brows, bronzer, and blush on and they last, but sometimes I give my sensitive eyes the day off from eye makeup. If I suddenly feel I need some for some reason, that brown shadow (Milani Bella) is there for me.
