Chanel Holiday 2008 Beiges de Chanel Quad Pictures & Swatches

Chanel’s Holiday 2008 collection includes Beiges de Chanel, which is a great quad of soft, warm tones. It’s perfect for subtle holiday eyes, as well as more dramatic combinations (by using the dark brown with gold shimmer color). The colors were silky smooth and had good pay off. The only one with a chalkier texture was the “highlighter” color, and for that purpose, the texture works out. I really love the bottom left color – it is just this gorgeous muted golden tan color. This is such a classic quad well-suited for the holiday season.

This is so pretty…but I think I’ve got lots of similar colours already, so I think I should better pass on it. But on the other side it can never hurt to check it out though, right? 🙂

I love this! The problem, for me, with most Chanel quads, is there is almost always one color that I really don’t like… and for $50+ a pop, I’m not willing to make a purchase unless I absolutely love all four shads. This is one that I think I’ll love all 4 shades and be able to use regularly. I cannot wait.

I heard yesterday at the Chanel counter, that they’re releasing limited edition brush sets for the Holidays, as well. Sounds good to me as their brushes are divine.

I find that happens a lot to me, too, Tuprnut! And it is very frustrating to pay so much and know one color isn’t worth it. I hope you enjoy this launch, though 🙂 I’ll have to wait to see about the holiday brush sets. Might be a good way to get Chanel brushes at a steal!

For those in Canada, this looks a lot like the quad that QUO just put out, but unfortunately I cant remember the name of it. Its a double decker quad so it also has two lip gloss and a blush in the bottom and is super pretty. Great color payoff and awesome creamy texture to the eyeshadow. And the best part is…it was only 20 bucks!!

Oh my goodness…soo beautiful! You’re right, that muted tan colour is absolutely gorgeous.

I know you said the chalky colour was okay for highlighting but do you think it’s still worth it to get the quad? I’d love to purchase a neutral-based quad like this, but I figure if it’s something as luxe (aka $$$) as Chanel I should probably love all the shades.

Maybe I’ll stop by a counter and swatch one of these days!

It’ll depend on your skin tone, I think! If you have darker skin, then the chalkiness is going to be more apparent (e.g., when I use Blanc Type matte eyeshadow), as well as are you going to be photographed. I find that when I use chalkier highlighters that contrast a lot to my skin, they don’t photograph as well. But lighter skin would have no problem wearing this particular shade! I haven’t worn any of these shadows in a look yet, so I can’t say for sure just how the chalky color appears on me yet.

BUT I always recommend swatching for yourself when it’s possible 🙂

Wow gorgeous! I’ve really been wanting to try some Chanel eyeshadow.. I think this may just be the one. I hope you can show us how it looks on your eyes 🙂

Hi girls!

Sorry for my english but i’m French!

I’m just dying for this quad but it hasn’t been released here, and maybe will never be. Do you know an online store that could ship it to France… i found none. I’m getting crazy lol.

Thanks!

Thank you for replying! Unfortunately, Chanel boutiques couldn’t carry it. But, i ended up buying YSL 5 ombres in Tawny shade, which is really close to Chanel’s. Thanks again!

It’s times like these (when several different companies come out with fantastically expensive products at a time when you’re down in the economic gutter) that you wish that there was one price-controlled, monopoly company to release certain types of products. Like gorgeous eyeshadows. -_-
