The Sultry Season: Make Up For Ever #20 Rouge Artist Lipstick
Make Up For Ever #20 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “pearly rust,” and it’s exactly that–a shimmering, lightly frosted rusty red with subtle copper-red shimmer. It’s opaque and wears four hours with ease on me. Rouge Artist Intense has an interesting formula where it’s very thin, almost dry and takes more pressure to apply than your average lipstick, but it doesn’t actually feel drying when you wear it. It’s scent- and taste-free–and it doesn’t have any waxy scent, either, which often plagues supposedly scent-free lip products!
Is this the right red for you? Would you wear it?
The Sultry Season is a series of posts featuring deep, rich shades of brown, berry, plum, and wine lipsticks and lipglosses — just right for autumn — that runs through October 2010.
That’s a beautiful color… It looks great on you!
Thanks, Zee!
Thanks for reviewing 2 of these lipsticks. I plan on ordering a couple this week. I don’t see how I can lose no matter what shade I pick.
wow! this makes your teeth look so white, I just might have to get it!
Thanks, Shelley!
Oh my gosh I think this is going to be my new lipstick purchase! It’s gorgeous on you too! I’ve been looking for a dupe to my Nars matte velvet pencil in Pop Life and even though this is a little darker I think it’s on the same page. Thanks for this post!
This is a brilliant red. I have one from L’Oreal that reminds me so much of this colour ( can’t remember the name of it now) and it looks really great on me.
A very sexy red, and it makes your teeth look SUPER white too!
This shade reminds me alot of macs cb 94.
How do these two compare? What would you say the differences are?
Thanks a bunch Christine 🙂
I wouldn’t compare them at all… CB 96 is coral, very frosty. Not at all red on me like this shade.
I usually don’t like orangey-red lipsticks; but this looks amazing on you!
Thank you, Grace!
