Lancome Shimmer Mandarin Sky Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

An Underappreciated Lancome Blush

Lancome Shimmer Mandarin Sky Blush ($29.50 for 0.18 oz.) is one of the prettiest shades of coral-pink with peachy-gold shimmer and sheen. Even though it seems reminiscent of such cult favorites as NARS Orgasm and MAC Springsheen, the way the gold sheen reflects light makes it stand out. It’s so wearable you could wear it as an everyday blush, but it can be worn subtly or intensely, depending on the look you’re going for. It blends beautifully with skin because of the soft, smooth texture of the powder. I always forget how gorgeous this shade is until I pull it out. It’s even pretty in the pan, but it’s truly at its best when worn. Very glowy without being shimmery.

Your post yesterday has created a new lemming for me! I wish Lancome wasn’t so expensive, otherwise I’d be all over this.

I also would have loved to get my hands on the Pop’n Cheeks blush. That was gorgeous as well.

You’re killing me here Christine! lol 🙂 When I saw the tiny swatch you had up of it yesterday against Stero Rose, I was instantly smitten with Mandarin Sky…been lusting after it ever since. Sadly, as far as I know, it isn’t available here in Canada *brokenhearted*

This is SO pretty. I’m having a seriously hard time deciding whether I should get Stereo Rose or not (my first coral blush) because the collection is out here in Hong Kong on July 12. Now I’m leaning towards this. It looks like the perfect blend between pink/coral and the lippie complements it perfectly. What shade is it? 🙂

its too bad you had some irritation, christine. this eye look is soooo pretty. i’ve never loved gold on lids but this totally changes my mind. is there already a tutorial/list of products for it?

Dini Avatar

Great color. I will have to go check this one out in person. So happy that the swatch comparisons for MAC Stereo Rose brought this blush to my attention and that you decided to do a review!!! Thank you!

That blush just might be my first Lancome purchase ever! Btw, did you post this makeup look before? I’d love to see what products you used on your eyes 🙂

You look stunning, very summery and fresh. But the eyebrows kinda spoil the fresh look, they are a bit too dark. I think you don’t need to fill in your eyebrows cause they must be fine naturally. I personally don’t fill in my eyebrows for this particular reason. I remember reading something about the aging factor of too harsh eyebrows so I just stay away from that. But that’s my personal view. Love your blog Christine xx

I left a comment about your lash line yesterday and I had absolutely no idea that it caused you so much irritation!

Now I feel like a dope and I’m so so sorry if I caused any upset, I love your blog and I think you’re wonderful (and very pretty!). <3

This looks GORGEOUS <333333 I'm definitely picking up this blush tomorrow

BTW I like Ur eyes way better w\o lining the upper lashline !! strangely it makes Ur eyes look smaller =(

I love this range of blushes. This is my go to warm, Shimmer Pink Pool is my fave pink, and Shimmer Mocha Havana works on me (NC15) as the perfect not-orange bronzer. It’s funny – the chemical waxy smell of their lipsticks totally puts me off, but Lancome blushes rock.

Seren Avatar

You are so pretty on this picture! You should do a tutorial with this look! I really love it! The whole combination with the lips cheeks and eyes is perfect.

Roberta Avatar

The picture on the Lancome website looks so off, I would never think to buy it off the website. They should link directly to your beautiful swatch. I totally want this blush now, its gorgeous.

i am absolutely crazy about blushes–my all time favorite is the Chanel–tea rose blush–its an everyday blush and i have never liked anything more–if you can you must check it out

i swatched this playing at the lancome counter and dreamt about it for a while before i ordered it 🙂 it is underppreciated. shimmer coral sunset is a must try as well.

Lancome blushes are SUPERB! I much prefer them over NARS, although regrettably they don’t appear to have the same kind of panache. How similar is this to Orgasm? Too close to have both I suspect. Btw, I really love your eye tutorials. I don’t line my upper lid 99% of the time and refer to you blog for ideas. You look pretty with or without liner or makeup in general.

I’ve been on the hunt for this – sadly the first Lancome counter I went to had TWO blushers – ONLY TWO! And neither of them was this… (mentally makes a list of all the other Lancome counters in a 30km radius…)

It’s funny, apart from Juicy Tubes I kind of ignored Lancome until about a year ago – now I really like their cream Color Fever lipsticks and the color design eyeshadows – though I notice they have recently changed their e/s quad packaging and the pan size drops from 1.2g to 0.7g – almost half!!! I bet the price didn’t drop any either :-p

Christina Avatar

Beautiful!!! I think it’s better than stereo rose! The texture looks so silky and finely milled – perfect for a quick swipe for a healthy glow!

Btw Christine, how would you rate the brush that comes along with it? I’m always wondering how those miniature blush brushes work. We all know the sponge-tip e/s applicators are duds ;P

Elena Avatar

You and I have the same skin color and it looks better on you than NARS Orgasm looks on me. What are you wearing as a foundation? I think this is a really good look!

I also tried Stereo Rose because of you and I thought it was gorgeous. 🙂

I’m either NC15 or NW15 — can’t really figure it out. I look best in warm colors and gold jewelry, but I can wear silver jewelry okay and have ruddy undertones. none of the “cool” colors work on me, though, so I have no idea if I’m a cool or a warm complexion. Anyhow, what are the odds this would be too pink on someone who habitually rocks orange eyeshadow like it’s going out of style?

Christine Avatar

It sounds like you’re probably warmer rather than cooler, if you feel warm colors look best and cool colors don’t work at all. Either that or slightly warm, maybe neutral – I would still lean warmer based on what you’ve said.

But I think this is a *great* blush for warm tones!

Hilana Avatar

Wow. Gorgeous colour. I am forever looking for a colour like this. Peachy with some gold specs in because it’s so flattering. And the good thing is that Lancome is actually widely available here in South Africa. I would check in with the Lancome stockists and see if and when they might get this.
Beautiful. Thanks for the review!

Scarlett Avatar

When I worked for Lancome, we could barely keep this in stock because everyone we showed it to would buy it. It manages to brighten up everyone’s face regardless of skintone.

mary Avatar

i love this blush. must get it. i have to admit i was disappointed with stereo rose and didnt see what all the hype was about. however this looks gorgeous! btw christine, have u ever thought of doing bangs? i think it would look great on u

Carla25 Avatar
