Yesterday I had to go in to my future workplace to do my paperwork, so it was very neutral: bareMinerals BB Cream Eyeshadow in Soft Linen on the lid, I tightlined with Bobbi Brown Espresso eyeshadow, mascara (currently Revlon Ultimate All in One, but I’m not a fan), my Dior BB Eye Creme concealer, YSL Touche Eclat foundation (the old formula), Essence Make Me Brow, bareMinerals Mineral Veil plus MAC Blot powder on T-zone, theBalm Balm Desert on the cheeks, and UD Revolution lipstick in Sheer Liar.

I LOVE Balm Desert! I use it everyday to add color back to my face after I do concealer & foundation. I still haven’t hit pan on it but I wish it came in a mega size!

I had all but forgotten about Balm Desert until I started digging my drawers for summer makeup, and I’m falling in love with it again! It’s really flattering and I think it has the potential for working on a lot of skin tones. And Sheer Liar is the perfect “business lip” I think!

What makeup did you wear yesterday: I wore pretty much the exact same thing yesterday, except I switched out my lip colour for KVD Bauhau5 and my eyeshadows for 2 taupey/purple nude shades from the Tarte Holiday 2014 palette.
What beauty product are you looking forward to wearing next: NYX Fireball! I’ll probably give it a go tomorrow and pair it with MAC Taupe over a reddish lip liner.

What makeup did you wear yesterday (or the last time you wore it)? I tried using the City Color highlighter trio that I bought as an eyeshadow palette- not a fan! The leftmost color is basically a matte bronzer once you get past the overspray. Boo. I don’t think I will buy anything else from them outside of the shimmer shadows.
What beauty product are you looking forward to wearing next? I should be receiving both of the new ABH Glow Kits today (Sweets and Moonchild) and I am dying to try them!! I wonder how many highlights I can fit on my face at once…

Cheeks: By Terry Sun Designer palette (the light one)
Lips: CT Hot Lips Kim KW. This is easily my current favourite lipstick. Someone mentioned this the other day: the bullet shape is really nice for applying.

What beauty product are you looking forward to wearing next? I’m really not sure right now. It was the Urban Decay Vice lipsticks but having tried them now I don’t know. Maybe I’m looking forward to trying out the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation again. I liked it when I tried it a few days ago but I think I’ll need to alter the amount of white I mix in. It was a tad too light last time. I genuinely enjoy mixing foundations, correctors and primers to get a custom foundation. ?

Today: Born This Way foundation, Tom Ford cream eyeshadow in Spice, Tom Ford bronzer in Terra topped with The Balm highlighter in Cindy Lou, and Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Lip Color in Soft Berry.
Yesterday: Born This Way, Naked 3 eyeshadows, and a mix of three Urban Decay revolution lipsticks (Naked, Liar and Fiend), and Tom Ford’s Terra Bronzer.
The thing that makes this question SO FRUSTRATING is that I RARELY wear neutrals! Had you asked any other week, I would have been talking about Viseart’s summer palette, Kat Von D’s Mi Vida Loca Palette, and even my old MAC Surfthe Ocean crushed metal pigments which I wore on Sunday and was blown away that they are still so fresh, vibrant and amazing after years of storage! ~NW 25, tanned now. None today or yesterday, bec landlord sprang a surprise inspection: had to clean. Plus, it’s 95 and humid. Can’t believe I haven’t gone in the ocean. Jussi is sleeping off his annual vaccines and I’m going to lie down with him and get sheet faced. Maybe tomorrow en taupe with seismic and Nyx mauve Ombre blush, but day job is kind of no makeup place.

What makeup are you wearing today? MAC Studio Finish Duo Concealer in NW20 under my eyes, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in Nude (awful name, btw), Clinique Cheek Pop in Plum, the MUFE Excessive Lash mascara that Sephora just had as a deluxe sample, and two MUG eyeshadows – I forget what they’re called. One is a light matte pink and in my creases I have a shimmery golden white. (I have deepset eyes so I often do a lighter shade in the crease to lighten the shadows.) Also using that Sephora tinted lipbalm that’s a ripoff of the expensive Dior stuff that’s supposed to change with your PH, in pink. (I think that’s the official name.)
What makeup did you wear yesterday (or the last time you wore it)? Almost the same thing, but with ABH Glisten in the creases of my eyes. I think I wore ColourPop Birthday Suit blush yesterday.
What beauty product are you looking forward to wearing next? My NARS Audacious Grace. I LOVE it but it’s so VIVID I often chicken out of wearing it, even when I want to.

Hey there Pearl: How are you liking the Shiseido Synchro?
Hey Wendy☺ – I like it! My hg is Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation but this comes close. GA goes on perfect for me and stays perfect, the Shiseido seems like it adapts to your skin because it goes on a tinge too yellow and seems dry at first, but then it warms up and it’s like it melts into my skin, and the color levels out and is near perfect. I will probably pick up Neutral 2 or 3 to mix in just a tiny bit to see if that changes things. GA seems like it stays moist for longer so you can take your time blending whereas Shiseido dries down quicker, but then it warms back up and is more spreadable? It’s the same demi-matte or satin finish that the Lasting Silk gives me. I love the way Lasting Silk smells, the Shiseido not so much (chemicall), but both scents evaporate after about a minute. I get about 6 hours of wear at work and then there is a nice, even fade. You thinking of trying this?
Thanks for the insight, Pearl! GA Lasting Silk is pretty darned good for me too and 4.5 is a very respectable match for my skin. Even tho I’m tanned right now, it still blends fairly seamlessly on my neck. Out of all the GA foundation products, this shade,this formula is best.
If Shiseideo is rather similar, I’ll pass shelling out. The GA melds with my yellow green undertones without clashing..doesn’t pull too yellow/golden and does not turn peachy orange either.
With another round of new formulations coming out I’m rather keen on trying the new MUFE water blend (caveat: would love to find a good water based tweaking foundation in a true neutral olive shade..don’t care if it is too dark or too light, I can fix that. I just want to nail the undertones with other foundations)..

Wow Pearl: That is a fabulous link girlfriend! I have all but two of these these foundations in stash; exception Bourjois which would be too light for me and GA luminous silk which is far too dark (but I see how both could be great balancing foundations for other formulas) . I found a similar website last week that really tuned me into all issues olive and now finally eureka understand how we all have varying degrees of green’ness. I walk that line of cool and warm and similar to the author run between 20 and 25 levels and it’s frustrating. UD Naked 4.0 is too dark and warm. So many of us in this light to light medium neutral skin end up with TF Fawn as our best bet (and it’s true..it does work on many olive complexions..I think because it doesn’t run too warm or too cool, but I don’t think it is a true olive foundation though)but..big BUT.. the TF formula is not the friendliest to any skin, let alone my aging skin. If Tom dude could come up with a friendlier formula, I would be thrilled.

Anne, I got a sample of the Benefit Porefessional primer and hated it too! My face can’t stand heavy silicones, feels like my pores can’t breathe and are getting clogged, and it seemed too mattifying for my drier skin. I like the KVD Lock It Featherweight Primer –it’s lightweight but hydrating, and lets my skin breath. Another reader with dry skin (Nicole) recommended it to me. I wear it in winter. In summer, I switch to Hourglass Mineral Veil SPF 15, which is super lightweight and breath-able.

Just love UD’s Mushroom colour – it is one of my favourites and it is such a versatile shade.

I went with Urban Decay Naked foundation in 2.0, MAC blot powder in Medium, MAC prolong wear blush in Stay by Me with Urban Decay highlighter in Fireball, MAC Shroom eyeshadow and Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Interstellar, Urban Decay Graffiti eyeliner and Urban Decay TMI Vice lipstick. Oh and Lancôme grandiose mascara in black.
What beauty product are you looking forward to wearing next? I just ordered a few new things including the new Urban Decay Moondust pallete, 4 of the new Moondust shadows that just released on their site (stellar, dark cloud, horizon, and crux), and a Buxom 6 pan pallete with No Faux, Bronzed Bod, Style Icon, Dusk till Dawn, Twilight Twist, and Rose Gold. So far I’ve only gotten the Moondust singles and will probably use one of them tomorrow but I’m really excited about everything I ordered (my wallet not so much lol)

What makeup are you wearing today? Today was work and I keep it super, super minimal. I wore the MAC Lightful C Tinted Cream, Milani luminoso blush, and Maybelline Color Jolt in orange danger. Oh wait, I also wore Pur cream highlight (not sure what it’s called) with mary lou manizer on top. No eye makeup because anything on my eyes bother me for long periods of time so I save the full glam face for when I actually care what I look like haha!
What makeup did you wear yesterday (or the last time you wore it)? Uh oh, that was a super glam day (I did photoshoot for blog) so get ready because it’s kind of a lot. 🙂 Dior Airflash, Urban Decay naked concealer (I mix light medium and light warm together) and then RCMA powder to set. I used Makeup Geek contour in whatever the light and warm shade is, Pur bronzer (the huge one that’s half shimmer, half matte but I use matte side) Hourglass ambient lighting blush (so gorgeous), and The Balm Mary Lou Manizer highlighter. For eyes I used the Urban Decay eye primer and then eyeshadows from the Gwen Stefani palette for transition shades. Then I used a Colourpop gold shadow and decided I wanted it more shimmery so I added a Lancome shadow on top. I used a chocolatey medium brown color to smoke the eye up and then a brown Mac twist up liner with a nude Mac for the waterline. I used Lancome Hypnose mascara and kept the undereye bare because I was worried about sweating in the heat and makeup moving around. For lips I used Jouer liquid lipstick in Fraise Bon Bon and switched it up to an Anastasia liquid lipstick in Dusty Rose.
