Estee Lauder Blue Dahlia Collection for Fall 2010

Estee Lauder Blue Dahlia Collection for Fall 2010

“The beauty of the palettes is that you can create many looks ranging from neutral to dramatic. For a neutral look, use shades 1 and 3. To add more color, blend shades 2 and 4 to your desired intensity and line the eye with shade 5. I want women to play and have fun with the colors!” – Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder

Introducing the new vision in color for the Fall 2010 season, the Blue Dahlia Pure Color Collection for smoldering eyes, shimmering lips and bold nails. Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux debuted his inspiration for this collection backstage at the Derek Lam Autumn/Winter 2010 Fashion Show. At the “Myth of the West” themed show, Tom created a strong, intensely energetic look that perfectly tied together the design and fantasy of the clothing. The complete makeup collection includes two distinct looks as well as two complimentary lip products that create a visionary, avant-garde look with a touch of whimsical glamour.

“The blues and purples in the collection are iconic colors for autumn and winter. I like to give women choices in the way that they look. From a neutral to a smoky to a fashionable, strong look, these shades can be used with them all.” – Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder

I tested this today. I was dissapointed with the pigmentation of the purple palette, but I thought the blue one was amazing. The two blue shades were unique with a nice sheen. The brown shade was quite unusual and you could create lots of interesting looks. The matte cube in the middle and the white are fairly standard colours.

I love the feel of the teals and blues, but I don’t see much of a chance for neutral looks to come out of the palette. Doesn’t seem as versatile as it is being marketed to be. Must wait to swatch and see, I suppose…

Like the look of those palettes (almost like the new Guerlain ones, without the extra one down the right), but in all honesty, Estee Lauder eyeshadows are not my favourites and now I really need to limit what I buy, so I think I’ll pass. 🙂

Love the Surreal Violet palette and the Blue Dahlia nail lacquer. Seems Estee Lauder is coming up with more interesting colour choices!

I love the colors- nice change of the other shades that are coming out for Fall colors by Dior and Chanel. I am ordering the quad and Verte Khaki shadows and lippies from Chanel this week but I think I may have to have some of these vibrant EL eye compacts too – my addiction is never ending.

I think these palettes are gorgeous, but the Estee Lauder shadows I have tested at the counters in the past have lacked in pigmentation for me. I love the theme though and the gloss looks so pretty.

I don’t know…. Just not feeling this one. I have seen so many wonderful collections here lately that this one really just doesn’t stand out in any way at all. In contrast to the others, this just looks a bit dull.

I would be a lot more enthusiastic about this line if Lipsticks colors were included, Not everyone likes gloss and I am 1 of them. COME ON, Estee Lauder come up with new lipsticks to go with these palettes. Glosses smear and are not the greatest things to wear ,eg, going out to dinner, going on a long date, etc.

I sure hope to see a review and a tutorial om your site and Youtube channel. I just bought the Blue Dahlia, en it’s an absolute winner on colors and pigmentation. I’ve tested a first look today, but I sure could use some more inspiration from you!!! Your looks are so great and original, and I’m sure you would love the blue palette as well!!!
