Sunday Funday: MAC Viva Glam Lipsticks Photos & Swatches

MAC Viva Glam Lipsticks
MAC Viva Glam Lipsticks

There are six permanent shades of MAC Viva Glam Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.), and frankly, they’re even prettier than I remembered (the one that I remember mostly clearly has always been Viva Glam I, as that was the only one I wore regularly in the past). I’m totally blown away by Viva Glam III and IV now! What makes Viva Glam lipsticks special is 100% of the selling price is donated to the MAC AIDS Fund; that’s not a portion, that’s not proceeds, that’s 100% of the selling price, which makes it one of the better charitable beauty products… well, ever.

I actually just took out my Viva Glam I for the first time in a while today!
Quick question: would you describe it as warm or cool? I’ve heard it called both, and Mac calls it a “blue red”.

Not being a massive MAC person, I had no idea that I was in love w/VG3. And the dupes aren’t even close. This is at true Who Knew? moment. There’s always a surprise @ Temptalia. Thanks.

I love MAC lipsticks as they make up most of my 100 some lipstick collection. Viva Glam V is one of my first MAC lipsticks. It is my most worn lipstick and one of the few I’d repurchase. Also love Viva Glam VI. And I want Viva Glam II

VG IV is awesome, if you like a bit of sheen to your lippie. I personally love it and am surprised that it doesn’t get more love overall!

Thank you for this post. I think this might be an opportunity for me to try out a MAC lipstick. I hate returning products if they don’t work for me (I have super sensitive lips) but feel irresponsible with my hard-earned money if I don’t. I think knowing that all proceeds are donations helps.

III is my go-to color, I love it so much! It looks so much more purple on you than it does on me – it’s a lot more brown on me. That’s a bit of a surprise since most of the time things look warmer on you than they do on me, not cooler!

I didn’t realize when I bought Viva Glam III, just how much I would wear it. I get a lot of wear out of it, because it goes with all my warm tone eyelooks especially my grunge looks, but at the same time the lipstick is not very warm itself (i dont wear warm tone lip colours everrrr). all i’m saying is it’s very versatile and i consider it an everyday colour but it’s still gives you some drama. I even wear it on days when I’m not wearing any makeup. It just works. I highly reccomend.

Viva Glam I was the first MAC lipstick I ever bought. I used to get tons of compliments on it. After seeing this I pulled it out of my stash (newer one ofcourse not original one I bought back then) and wore it. The Cyndi Lauper one is the first lipstick tube I ever finished. Like I scraped the tube for that last bit of lipstick at the bottom finished LOL. You should do the same with all the other VIVA GLAMS like Cyndi Lauper, Gaga, Miley and so on. I would love to see that. Thanks!!

I pulled out Viva Glam II about a three months ago and didn’t realize how beautiful it was. It’s now in my “I can pull from this group for a neutral look” stash. Thanks for the review/reminder!

Viva Glam V is my favourite, and one I repurchase again and again. i call it my ‘anytime, anyplace, anywhere’ lipstick as it goes with everything and suits all occasions/outfits.

Aw, throwback Viva Glam love! Viva Glam I remains one of my all-time favorite lipsticks–something I totally didn’t expect when I bought it. It’s classy and punchy at the same time, has a fantastic texture, and (as my friends who have borrowed it can attest) it looks great on a startlingly wide range of skin tones.

Just realized–it’s actually one of only two Mac products I have ever repurchased/bought backup for. (The other being the Stormy Pink paint pot, which is, for my skin and style, the world’s best eyeshadow primer.)

I really like I and III. I’m so happy to see swatches for all of them because with the new Arianna Grande lipstick coming up I’m curious to see what else from this Viva Glam set would be worth picking up.

I’m so disappointed. After reading this post I spent weeks looking everywhere for Viva Glam III. I was finally able to locate a MAC counter that had a Viva Glam III available to sample and it looks awful on me. Instead of being that gorgeous and rich berry shade on my lips it looked a solid brown.

Skin undertones can have such a massive effect on how colours look on different people. I’m very light skinned, but also very sallow skinned. Brown on my lips just makes me look like a corpse :/
