It all depends on the look I’m going for and what else I plan on wearing that day? So there is no consistent go-to summer palette perse. I do have a few new favorites, though! For glam and sophistication: Chanel Empriente du Desert quad. For fun looks and or versatility: BH Foil Eyes and Nyx Ultimate Brights eyeshadow palettes. I also love MAC Halcyon Nights for another small, but beautifully done little palette.

Nancy, I’ve been eyeing that NYX Ultimate Brights palette for a while. Is it pigmented? Can you use just primer or do you have to use a Milk pencil?

I like the UD XX Vice Ltd Reloaded palette –it has pops of color that go with brighter summer clothes, but the colors aren’t too OTT, so versatile enough to wear to the office

I use the same one as I do all year. My z palette w all my MAC eyeshadows. In summer though I stick to my peach, champagne and bronzey shades!

If the colors work out ok for me it’s gonna be the Grav3yard Girl Swamp Queen Pallette! I want to swatch it before I buy it, so I’m waiting til it shows up at Ulta. It’s really calling me, so I hope it looks ok!

I have a CARGO California Throwback waiting for some tan on my face (goldish shimmery beige, turquoise shimmer, beige and dark brown mattes + warm shimmery bronzer and blush).
For fun I will use the Sleek Del Mar I and the Sleek Calm before the storm – both wearable with colors.
And for a quick makeup MUR Naked Chocolate – this one has that gold-ish beachy vibe on neutral shades.

I don’t think I have one – I love eyeshadows so much I don’t think I could stick to just one. But right now, it’s been Chanel’s Empreinte du Desert quad. And Stila’s Spirit palette is always within close reach because it has so many shades that it’s a great one to have at hand.

I don’t wear eyeshadow that often in the summer – however, I’m really liking Revlon Floating in Love for Spring 2016 eyeshadow palette in Romanticism – pretty pink, gray, lilac and mint!

Stephanie Avatar

This is completely backwards since you’re “supposed” to do color in the summer and since I love color, but I’ve been on a neutral kick for the past several weeks. It’s been nonstop Naked 2, Chocolate Bar, Gwen Stefani, and original Naked lately.

But knowing me, I’ll probably get tired of neutrals soon and start digging into Urban Spectrum, Electric, or one of the Vice palettes again!

Stephanie Avatar

Probably the new Chanel Empriente du Desert quad, and the MAC Wild Horses quad. I love a neutral eye with a pop of colour for summer.

I’m lazy, so I’m just using singles! I like L’Oreal 24H Infallible and Maybelline Color Tattoo for their finger-friendly application, long wear, and ability to work well as a one-color wash on the lids. 🙂

I switch all the time, and I’m a palette junkie, so I don’t have a single go-to. For color palettes, I’ve been reaching most often for UD Electric, UD Urban Spectrum, UD Alice TTLG, and Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly. For neutrals, I’ve been favoring UD x Gwen Stefani, Tarte Rainforest of the Sea, UD Naked 3, Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in Girl Panic, and MUFE Artist Palette Vol. 1. As the temps get hotter, the more I’ll reach for the light neutrals and get my pops of color from waterproof eyeliners and bright lip colors.

I like to wear Tom Ford’s Cream eyeshadows one shade all over the lid or I love Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres compacts I own several different ones. I usually only apply two or three eyeshadows from the compact at once. Also Tom Ford’s Honeymoon which I love. It really depends on what I am wearing and how I feel that day.

I usually don’t change my eyeshadows just because seasons change. I love all eye shadows. That is except if they are too shimmery. I am especially loving Naked 1,2, and 3. And Kat Von D Shade and Contour. As we get older, our eyes begin to wrinkle (UGHHHH) The bright and shimmery colors accent all the fine lines!!!
Oh to be young and daring again!!!!!!!!

I’m crazy for palettes but if I could only have one this summer it would be UD Alice. The bright colors are sheer so they are easy to wear on hooded eyes (at least mine). 😉

I am enjoying using the Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette for most of my look and then adding a pop of color with a bolder liner. The palette is very neutral and easy to use and has been great to travel with which is something that I have been doing a lot lately. I have been doing a lot of one or two night trips and the palette tucks right into my bag.

I got the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea during the Sephora discount this spring. I’ve been enjoying it & will continue until I get bored, or find something else.

I don’t tan so I don’t really change shadow palettes. I use the UD Naked palettes, some Clinique palettes and a neutral matte one by Too Faced. I tend to go a bit lighter in summer though.
I have a palette by Eve Lom that I received in one of my several subscription boxes. I’ve hit pan on two colors and am unable to find a replacement. It consists of six colors varying from cream, peach, burgundy and a range of three blue-greens.
Anyone have any ideas on how to find this? I tried all the searches I could think of.

Just got Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance palette, LOVE IT. So flattering and versatile. Also enjoying Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea for easy daytime looks, and Cargo’s Land Down Under for pops of something brighter!

Cat Avatar

I don’t really have a go-to palette for summer. I gravitate towards certain colors (pink, purple, teal) and will grab palettes that contain those shades. The easiest one is the TF Pink Glow palette since it has coordinating eye and cheek products.

Genevieve Avatar

That’s a gorgeous palette you’ve chosen Christine – it really screams spring and summer.
I don’t really have a summer eye palette as such, I just tend to use some individual colours more like mint.
Dior’s Jardin – just gorgeous colours
Guerlain’s Les Gris – for beautiful blues
Benefit’s Shamrocker – for mint.

Naomi Avatar

I don’t really go brighter for my eyeshadow in the summer, instead I tend to do a one wash of color on the lids kind of look and then a bold bright summer lip! for this reason I gravitate more toward singles or eyeshadow crayons (specially the nyx ones)

Amara Avatar

I just bought the ABH modern renaissance palette on a whim and 2 days in, i’m in love. this may be used for the majority of my summer!

Desperately in search of a nice mix of shadows with matte, satin, maybe a lightening one..just feeling too old with all this shimmer lately!

Tracey E. Avatar

I wear cream shadows a lot in the summer (Tom Tord, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier) more than a particular palette.
