Look - Soft Neutrals and Browns

After yesterday’s experimentation, this is my actual look for the day. Sometimes it’s fun just to have, well, fun with makeup – to be able to try out things and combinations that are gloriously over the top. Obviously, this is pre-hair cut!

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Copperbeam pigment (metallic brown), Ricepaper eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Bronze eyeshadow (dark brown), Smut eyeshadow (darkest brown), Texture eyeshadow (soft warm brown), UD Bourbon 24/7 Liner (warm brown), Rich Ground fluidline (warm brown), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Blooming blush (soft pink)
  • Lips: Lightly Ripe lipstick (subtle deep pink), Liqueur lipglass (dirty brown)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Copperbeam = Chocolate Brown; Blooming = CoyGirl; Lightly Ripe = Syrup; Liqueur = Spite

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Copperbeam pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner-to-middle lid, apply Ricepaper eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Texture eyeshadow to outer lid with the 239. Darken crease with Bronze eyeshadow with the 239, and then add depth using Smut eyeshadow. Sweep Ricepaper underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with UD Bourbon 24/7 Liner on lower lash line, Rich Ground fluidline on upper lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Blooming using the 129. Apply Lightly Ripe lipstick to lips, and then top with Liqueur lipglass for color and shine.

It’s so interesting to see how different colors look on different people. I also have on lightly ripe and liquer over it and on my skin tone it is actually a medium-dark purply lip look.

Love the eyeshadow!

It looks gorgeous on you! I wish it looked simmilar on me, maybe I can find a way to get some other lipgloss/lipstick combo that will achieve a simmilar color to how it looks on you.

LOOOVE that lip color! Do you put your lipstick on right from the tube? Or do you put it on a lip brush and brush it on? What about the gloss? How do you apply it specifically?

hey christine! you look gorgeous & even though the end photo doesnt show your new haircut, i thought i’d comment like everyone else and say that i too love it! i wish i could pull of the side-swept bang look haha. your eyebrows look nice too, although i think they appear a little long..so if u took a spoolie and brushed them up and trimmed them, they would look much neater…just a suggestion. anyhow, keep up the great work! 🙂

i dont think i can do side-swept bangs because i have thin, fine hair..so there wouldnt be a whole lot of bang to begin with unless they started like in the middle of my head haha, and also because i have a square-ish face 🙁

they suit your face perfectley though! (im jealous 😛 )

hi i have a request!
when u apply each color of lip or shadow, can u please also photograph the actual picture of the shadow on the side? this way we can use the exact dupes that we have in the case that we dont have the same colors. it would also be easier than assuming which shade of brown, darkest brown etc. Hope you dont mind! Thanks!

Ok, first of all, OMG Your lashes!! They’re amazing today! Seriously, Plushlash is the best!

Also, I never would have thought of that lip combo, but it’s gorgeous!!!!

Hey christine. Been following your site for a while now and your looks are really awesome, you have some talent ^^ Btw I noticed that you don’t use eyeliner on your top lid very often, why is that? o.O

Hi, I’m kind of new to this “beyond Covergirl” make up world. I hear you talk about “Ricepaper” alot, is that a brand? Also, do you usually use MAC products? I have brown eyes, brown hair and fair skin and I’m looking for a new day look. I really like this one but I’m not sure of the eyeshadow names you are using, are they all one brand?
