Alice Through the Looking Glass Eyeshadow Palette, $60.00 (Limited Edition)
We can definitely relate to the Cheshire Cat’s proclamation, “We’re all mad here.” Urban Decay introduces the Alice Through the Looking Glass Eyeshadow Palette. Inspired by the new fantasy-adventure film release of Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, in theaters May 27th, 2016, this limited-edition, pop-up palette is a trippy tribute to our favorite characters from the film. Using this visually stunning film as our inspiration, we painstakingly created the perfect mix of 20 ALL-NEW shades, then arranged them all in columns by character and put them in an intricately designed, collectible palette. Match up the columns to steal their looks or mix up these shades to create countless others. From softer shades inspired by Alice’s look in the film to bold, bright shades like those seen on the Mad Hatter, it’s all here.

Packaging is echoes of BOS 4, was it? The too cumbersome one with the pull out drawer? Couldn’t wait to depot that sucker. At least this one has keepsake value and tie-in design ‘merit.’ Pop up butterflies just don’t do it for me. Viced out, as far as the fun colors go… Might have to get the red or berry l/s, just to be in on this Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
I don’t have BOS 4 but I know BOS 3 had that ridiculous pull-out drawer and it’s one of the reasons I use it so rarely even though it contains some terrific shadows.
If only the shadows were as bright and vibrant as that promo pic. If the blue or purple lippie is fix-able, I might get one, mainly for the colorful packaging, but this whole collection deserved top quality, and it didn’t get it 🙁
Collector in me says yay, getting! I wasnt around for Book for Shadows…
Me too!! I’m excited for its release!!
I think I’ll end up buying too but I’m a little disappointed by the patchiness I saw in the swatches for the brighter eyeshadow colors. ?
Are these colours new or renamed permanents?
I think Christine said in her earlier sneak peak that UD says these are all “new” shades.
As per Urban Decay on instagram they’re all new.
When will the review be up for this palette?? I was very excited by the shadows look chalky and pigmented per your swatches posted yesterday.
Hi, sorry for hijacking but I have seen them swatched out and some colors are great and some are not swatching very well at all. They seem very powdery too. I would be surprised if Christine gives this one any better than a B. Just my opinion though.
That’s what I’m thinking too. I love the colors and I love the palette but I won’t buy until I see Christine’s review. I know I can trust her and her reviews are always quality, I know if I go on youtube every other person will be shilling these like crazy but Christine always seems honest and I love the grading system she has implemented.
I agree with you 100%. I don’t buy anything ever without checking with Christine’s site first. YouTube is not a reliable source anymore. At least not typically. Too many sponsorships and skewed opinions for me to rely on it.
The packaging, though lots of fun, is a pain. I barely ever reach for my Book of Shadows because of that cumbersome drawer structure. And based on the swatches, I don’t think there are any colors I need, here. However, it’s definitely nice to see UD putting out a more vibrant collection again, and you can’t deny that Alice in Wonderland lends itself to some really fun inspired looks. I’m interested to see what some of my favorite beauty-media folks put together with this one.
This just looks like a slightly refined Vice 4, basically, yes?
Sameyness aside, packaging is pretty.
Cannot WAIT to see swatches of this!
At first , I was like $60! whoa! But, The packaging on this is to die for! This collection is going to jam up cyberspace! I hope they limit these. But, even then, people can make separate transactions and put them on Ebay for ridiculous prices.
Too bad I don’t like this cuz I really like the packaging and i have a thing for butterflies. There are too many colors I wouldn’t wear and from the sneak peek the shadows look to be of poor quality. UD I expect better than this!
I love❤️???I have to have that palette? The lipsticks could have been better colors in my opinion. The only one of like is Alice. The red and purple are nice too but I have a million reds and it has to be special for me to add another to my collection. The last 2 reds I purchased we’re Tom Ford Beauty Joaquin and Roberto because of the more metallic finish. When the last UD Alice in Wonderland palette came out I bought 6 and I sold them all but one on Ebay this past Christmas.I made good money off of them so I will be purchasing several this time also.
This collection is just like the film: poor quality, lots of special effects and disappointed fans. If Tim Burton’s Alice was embarrassing to watch, these shadows and lipsticks are embarrasing to swatch.
You said it perfectly.
Such beautiful packaging. What a shame that yesterday’s swatches showed this palette to be pretty sad quality for most of the bright and fun shades.
The more I look at this the more I like it. I do really love that heads will roll color. Unfortunately, I have so much UD that I rarely use that I’ll probably pass on this.
I love UD, but I’m gonna pass. I’m going for the Bohemian Viseart instead. I’m waiting for Sephora to let me know they have it. Lol
The same old Vice palette we’ve seen a million times, only with pretty (if impractical) packaging that guarantees it will sell out in 5 minutes and only be available at astronomical prices from eBay scalpers. No ma’am. I’m starting to get pretty jaded with UD, I feel like the last palette they came out that I really loved was the Spectrum. This is a dust collector imo.
Tarte is doing the same thing with Limited Editions. Actually, it’s getting worse with all of the brands. Violet Voss, Jeffree Starr is always sold out, Kylie Lip Kits sell out in minutes, Dose of colors, Morphe 35O, Makeup Geek’s MannyMUA palette… it’s all just beyond ridiculous. Dior and Marc Jacobs is even getting in on the scam marketing ploy. My stash could already last me a lifetime or three.
All of the companies arbitrarily give them to the YouTube nobody’s who hype the living crap out of them, and just wait for the masses to come knocking. Let’s all just not knock?! We can send them a clear message that enough’s enough.
I agree 100%. T
The packaging is nice!
I think the packaging is cumbersome and awkward to use.
I’m a die hard ud fan it’s the only shadows I wear but I’m kind of disappointed by the shades. Very pretty colors but it’s everything we have seen before. Also the mattes don’t look too great :/ hmm
I thought there was an eye shadow called ‘cheeseboard’ …. until I adjusted my glasses!!
The eyeshadows look very promising indeed. They don’t seem to be very unique, though.
BOS Alice was my first Urban Decay purchase. I’ll have to wait for your review on this one.
Not for me. I don’t like cardboard packaging and for the price I guess should be something made of plastic. The eyeshadow colours also are not warming my heart:) I guess i skip this one.
I owned BOS 3 and 4 and although the drawer was inconvenient I still used both those palettes for quite awhile! I ended up giving them to my mom because I got so over them from constant use. Now the collector in me wish I had kept them. I’ll definitely be purchasing the palette but not the lipsticks, mainly because the colors aren’t to die for me and for $18 each I need to be in love to consider purchasing.
Packaging is to die on this collection.
