It’s supposed to give “an illuminating, sun-touched complexion with a subtle glow.” The heart is the darker, more bronze-hued shade, while the surrounding area is a more golden highlighting shade. While you can, in theory, use them separately, neither is large enough to accommodate an average-sized powder blush brush without getting some of the secondary shade on the brush. You’d need to use a small cheek or larger eye brush to use them separately. It’s more usable swirled together or leaning to one shade more than the other (so more illuminating vs. more bronzing). The consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable, while the finish was glowing without emphasizing pores. It had good color payoff that could be diffused easily or applied heavily (without a lot of layers). The color wore well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Super pretty but too dark and warm for me!
Totally understand!
As soon as I saw the swatch, I was “hey, that reminds me of the Cover Girl TruBlend Bronzer!”, and sure enough, it’s listed as a dupe 🙂 I have the CG one and will stick with it, as it’s $60 cheaper and has no fragrance. I got a Burberry Earthy blush in a sample kit, and while the color was pretty, it was LOADED with fragrance, just like this one, and the fragrance lingers too. I really wish Burberry wouldn’t put fragrance in their blushes, but my wallet is happy.
I wish they would skip the fragrance, too!
Somehow I’ve managed to skip over the CoverGirl TruBlend line but I’m super curious to try them now after seeing it here and one of the blushes earlier this week. If you like it, I know I will! I’d much rather add the CG bronzer to my collection than shell out $70 for a highlighter I really don’t need
I’ve only swatched the CG TruBlend Bronzer on my hand, but it looks beautiful, pigmented, smooth, and high quality. It has some yellow-orange gold undertones, but not as yellow as the Burberry one. But if you blend out the CG one, I think it’s “close enough”, and you save $60! I also got the blush in Deep Mauve, and it’s really pretty.
The luminous finish looks really pretty. I like it!
Burberry’s done a great job with the finishes of their products lately!
I snagged this when it came out. So happy I did. The packaging is adorable. It pained me to start using it.
Happy to hear you’re enjoying yours, Nicole! 🙂
It’s definitely glowy and I think this could make for a lovely summery warmth over a fairer complexion than my own, or those close in color to me or darker.
( Yes, I know my recent avatar looks light, but that’s because I liked how it looked with an “antiqued” alteration!)
It is definitely a lighter bronzer, so I think you are right on with this working for fairer skin tones.
Whilst that colour would not suit me, it absolutely rocks on you. Love the pattern too.
Thank you, Genevieve!
You look so pretty how did you apply the Burberry illuminating bronzer and where? Did you swirl them together and apply it all over? Whatever you did your skin looks gorgeous and illuminating.
Hi Maria,
I used them blended together on the face photo as a bronzer/blush. I showed everything individually and blended together for regular swatches.
It looks as pretty as I thought it would. No really good dupes either!
It’s much lighter than most of the similar shades!
Almost too pretty to use!
Aww!
Very pretty on you, Christine! I love the heart pattern in the compact on these.
Thanks, Fran!
