Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shines SPF 15 Review, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Brownie Nude, Papaya, Rosy, Sunset Bronze, Plumberry, Desert Rose
Bobbi Brown Lip Shines, Part Deux
I originally reviewed Lip Shines two weeks ago, which included Nectarine, Pink Glisten, Raspberry Pink, Moonlight Rose, Berry, and Maple. I had several readers email and comment inquiring about the other six shades, and now I’m happy to report that here they are! 🙂
- Brownie Nude is a brownish peach-red with a glistening glossy look–very opaque, too.
- Papaya is brightened pinky-coral. It applies nearly entirely opaque with a very soft shimmer-shine.
- Rosy is a darkened rosy red with semi-opaque color and glossy sheen.
- Sunset Bronze is a deep red with orange and copper flecks of shimmer. It’s not quite opaque, but it has plenty of pigment. It’s almost metallic with the copper shimmer in it, too–very pretty–and I could see this working really well during the fall and holiday seasons.
- Plumberry is a darkened reddish plum with a glistening sheen and semi-sheer color. It has a smidgen of gold shimmer. This one had a tendency to slip into my lip lines a bit.
- Desert Rose is a soft, muted rose with a glossy sheen. Surprisingly, despite the lightness of the color, it’s nearly opaque on my lips.
You can read my full review of the formula here, but to recap on why I like these…
- Long-lasting color–three to four hours before it starts to fade, and it made it through a frappuccino
- Feels like a combination of Chanel’s Rouge Coco and MAC Slimshines
- Scent-free, taste-free
- Non-drying, most shades provide nearly full-color coverage
My personal favorite shades, now having seen all of them, are: Pink Glisten, Raspberry Pink, Papaya, and Desert Rose.

Gorgeous! Wish I had the money to buy them all! 🙂
ahh christine your swatches are making it really hard for me not to get these! lol
These are gorgeous! I may have to pick up a couple. I’ve been rationing my slimshines since they were discontinued.
Papaya looks like it’s pretty close to Tropic Glow Slimshine. Would you say it is, Christine?
Kind of – I’d say it’s a little more pigmented & red.
Hey Christine! I think I’ll have to check these out – colour-wise, how does sunset bronze compare to MAC Thrills? Thanks!
I thought about that comparison, but it’s not quite as rosy or as metallic as Thrills is. Like it’s kind of close at first glance, but then you look closer and it’s not. It’s a darker, broodier cousin!
Papaya and Rosy are just fabolous to me.
Thanks for the swatches.
I ADORE papaya!!  desert rose looks like a nice subtle color also…
thanks christine!
I like them ^^
i like desert rose….
I really like Sunset Bronze on you. But I feel most of the shades are rather flat, because they’re so muted. I know that’s supposed to make them more natural-looking and therefore wearable, but it just doesn’t look very flattering to me.
It seems like about half have shimmer, half are less shimmery/no shimmer – they’re all pretty wearable and flattering, IMO 🙂 Like Papaya and Nectarine pop quite a bit – not totally natural!
papaya and desert rose are gorgeous!
Agreed! Papaya might be too red for me but I think I might purchase Desert Rose.
Papaya is wonderful!
Ah I just bought raspberry pink last week…now it looks like I’ll have to pick up papaya and desert rose as well :]
the colors are gorgeous!!
Christine, they all look GORGEOUS on you! Just wondering, how much do they cost?
$22!
Love them! I think I need Brownie Nude to fill the brown void in my lippie collection (it’s hard finding a flattering brown shade when you’re pale!).
Question: I like Desert Rose, but it looks like a cross between CHANEL’s Mademoiselle and MAC’s Bare Slimshine. Would you agree they’re similar?
Hmm, I could see it being a cross between the two — definitely more muted and beige compared to Mademoiselle, and pinker than Bare.
How do you like this compared to Dior’s Rouge de Serum. I bought it last weekend in the Coral shade #730. I’m on the fence about it. Maybe I just need to spend more time with it. OR maybe I just need to get use to wearing Coral more…
These wear a lot better, IMO. I find these last quite awhile and leave a bit of a residual stain – like some fades off, but not entirely, for awhile. I’d say Dior’s are creamier, though.
Papaya and Desert Rose are gorgeous! I may just have to make the trek down to my local Canadian Holt Renfrew (propably akin to US Norstrom or Saks) to pick these up!
I love these! Thanks to your lovely reviews and pictures, I bought 3 of them. I got the Pink Raspberry. Nectarine and Papaya. I love them all!
Yayy!!
Christine, I’m thinking about getting ONE of these 🙂 As I’ve mentioned, my coloring and preferences tend to be very similar to yours, except my eyes are brown! Can you recommend one over all the others to me?
Pink Glisten 😀
fun trying on so many shades… they are super pretty!!!
Papaya and Sunset Bronze are both stunning!
I love Papaya! It´s my favourite lippenstift at present.
Love that these have SPF. I wish all lipsticks did. I like the Papaya for summer.
I like these a lot, they remind me a lot of benefits lipsticks.
Desert Rose is so pretty! I feel like I’m eventually going to give into buying one of these or a Benefit lipstick, despite the over $20 price tag 😛
Put it on your wish list 😉 Maybe someone will nab it for your birthday!
I love the look of these. Do you know if they’re paraben-free?
Not sure…
Hi Christine,
After reading part 2 of BB Treatment Lip Shines, I am definitely going to get one of these. What’s your recommendation for NC35 skin tone?
Thanks again for great advice on MAC products for warm skin tone. Every shade you recommended works great for me!
Ooh…
Papaya, Pink Glisten, Nectarine, Raspberry Pink would all look lovely. I think Pink Glisten & Papaya for sure.
OMG Christine, I have to have everyone of them !!!!!!!!!!
P.S. You’re gorgeous Christine and everything looks fab on you girl !
Thanks, Ruth!
I loved the colors and bought one, but still did not like this new formula. Far from moisturizing on me, and I think the SPF is a gimmick.
ooooooh so nice
desert rose is almost like your MLBB! do you think that shade will look good on a nc 25?
Yes — I am NC25!
Pretty! Such wonderfull colours!
I love them.
hey christine im a very fair skinned girl in high school (junior) and i like the dessert rose one a lot do u think thats subtle enough for going out.. i dont like that bright of lips haha im kind of wimp with color :\
I think you’d like it! It’s definitely not too bright!
ooh, all of these look so stunning! i’m in deep thought of getting one of these as my summer splurge item~ 😛
desert rose especially caught my eye 🙂
I bought Papaya and it jumps off my face….too much. Now that I’ve seen your swatch, I’m headed back to buy Desert Rose…more subtle. Should have checked your site out before I purchased, which I will do from now on. All that money that I will now save on mistakes can purchase a lot of MAC shadows! Thanks, Christine.
Aww! You are too kind 🙂
Gorgeous colors!
Thank you for such a great review!
I got Raspberry Pink over the weekend and now obsessing over Desert Rose – it’s sold out at every Nordstrom around me! I’m contemplating about ordering it online (if it’s still available)…
Ahhhh damnit I’m soon gonna be homeless carrying around a bunch of giant makeup bags and a tattered pillow …
Hi christine! are they considered as lipsticks too? or just like a lip gloss?
Lipsticks 🙂
omg already bought 2 of these and massively lusting after the nectarine one….ive got it bad! 🙂 not good for the bank balance
Desert rose is the most perfect colour on me (nw20) Christine, can you think of a mac lip colour similar to desert rose off the top of your head? It is a shade I feel a lot of people could pull off. Love your blog!
