Sneak Peek: Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint Photos & Swatches
Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint
Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a new, permanent gloss formula available in nine shades. Haven’t had a chance to test these at all yet–I feel like I have photographed/swatched almost every day this past week (hence all the sneak peeks!)–but here are swatches to give you an idea of preliminary results!
Loving all the purples and the deep pink of WCW.
Now this is more my style! I’m so sick of all the matte, matte, matte lip colors that have been coming out for the past year or two. And there seems to be some cooler colors in this collection, which makes me happy!
Oh stop, stop, eeeeeeek…….my buy list for Sephora/Ulta sale keeps getting longer and longer with all these sneak peeks! Might be adding Snap, Slay, and Fave to it 🙂
Ooohh..I like Slay and Snap. This formula looks like the perfect opacity for me. I think Tarte did a great job on Poison: deep shades can be so steaky. However, some of the lighter shades have that typical pooling.
I wasn’t really excited to hear about these, but after seeing the swatches I know I need several of them in my life, especially Poison. I love purple lipsticks/glosses, but so many go on streaky or sheer. That does not appear to be an issue with Poison.
They look drippy-glossy (fried-chicken lips). Not my favorite texture.
I cringed laughed when I read this.. I think you may have just wrecked these for me 😛
Hmmm. So many nudes. Strangely, I really like Poison.
Wow – I like a few of the colors, but these look very……goopy. Not a good look, IMO.
These actually look pretty promising—I’m not a fan of the “trendy” shade names, but Slay will likely end up in my cart! 😀
Yay, I was hoping you’d test these. Some are kind of streaky but Fave, Slay, and Double Tap look promising.
I love how juicy these look! So excited to try them in stores. Thanks so much for your swatches!
Lovely colors, terrible finish. Thanks for posting and saving me money!
Some of these shades look really pretty, but I’ll wait for your full review: they also look like they might be a little uneven, hence tricky to apply.
Wow at that pigmentation!
I keep reading the name of this line as TARTI-est. Like, most tarte-y.
Haha me too!! I know it’s Tarte-ist like rhymes with artist. But I can’t help always reading it that way (tarte-iest) as well.
I hear a lot of people say it that way. I think I figured it out because of the golf balls. You know, Tit-leist instead ofTitle-ist? My parents howled.
It is refreshing to have a texture change. It seems as if certain trends have absolute staying power: contour/highlight, nude eyes, matte lips. Getting a little satiated, here. But if trends will persist, they are fairly innocuous ones. Though people (vloggers) maybe should review Wayne Goss. Woke up last night & youtubed some of the CP darlings. You could jack a deer with the headlights on the tips of the nose. That’s vulgar and disgusting, but it’s pretty sad, when all I can think of to say to some retail customers is ‘Nice strobing.’ To which they look at me blankly. Actually, at times I think I need shades. Truth is, they need lessons, better brushes, better mirrors, or to buck the never ending trend.
These are impressive.
I love Poison. WCW, Slay, and Fave. The nudes all look like they set into the lip lines. They’d need a liner or lipstick under them.
The lighter shades seem to pull into lip lines, the darker ones seem more interesting. I wonder how the wear will be, and if they feather.
hope its nothing like occ lip tars
Poison, Snap and Slay have got me very interested! Especially concerning weartime, plus whether or not Poison strays or stays put. I’m on my obvious purple kick again!
I love WCW and Snap
I was meh about another gloss formula but these look so pretty and unique. I hope they’re not too runny(I like my gloss staying in one place) but I definetely need a few to enhance some of my lip looks
Loving Poison! It’s so hard to find a good dark purple gloss. Fave and Snap are also beautiful.
I’m impressed by the pigmentation, but I will wait to see your review so I can get a feel for how long they wear… The darker colors like Poison and WCW are hard to look away from, though. *_*
OMG SNAP!!!!!! ???? must-have. Also loving Slay, Double Tap and Fave!!!! Didn’t think I’d care about these until I saw your swatches!!!
Ps – I can finally log it now! Woohoo!!!
Oops I meant log IN
Snap is awesome looking!
Goals is my favorite so far!
There are some really pretty colours here, but as some others have pointed out, the formula seems a bit streaky/gloopy. That said, I am so tempted to go to Sephora and put Goals and Double Tap in my basket right now. They are beautiful!
Wow, those really look gorgeous! And they SHINE!!! They’re not matte!!!!!!!!!! I wonder about the wear time on them. I could see me getting at least a couple of those! I really like how they look.
Snap and Double Tap look good 🙂
Love Snap and Double Tap 🙂
Those light glossy shades look really unflattering on lines/texture. Not to bash Tarte at all – I think that shade range is tricky to formulate or something. Unsurprisingly I’m into the mid toned pinks 🙂
I like some of these deeper berry shades, but the formula looks like overapplied gloss to me. Like if you moved your lips at all, it would smear everywhere!
I am loving most of the swatches?!!Not into WCW.Snap and Slay are gorgeous on your lips!
I’ll need about every single nude shade in the collection.
WCW is on my wishlist now. I like several of these actually. I will wait for your final verdict though.
Am I the only one noticing what looks like weird bubbling in the arm swatches? I’ll wait to see what your take on them is, but based on images alone these look weirdly goopy.
Love the look of these! My favorites are Fave, Slay, Snap, and WCW.
I am excited about these because I am so tired of matte and velvet finishes. My dry lips rejoice over this launch!
Will you do a review of the Tarte double duty eye and cheek palettes?
Thanks for doing the sneak peek, Christine! Would you happen to know when these will be coming to Sephora? These look really nice, but I definitely want to test them in person before buying.
Sorry, Tarte doesn’t usually send me info so the only info I have is whatever is posted on Ulta.
