Last week, I came across six new shades of Surratt Beauty Artistique Blush ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) available for pre-order on Barneys, which I immediately pre-ordered for. Here’s a quick preview of the six 🙂

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I love my Surratt La Vie En Rose, probably an HG color for me, but these suckers are SO expensive for the small amount of product, and you have to pay extra for a travel compact. But with that said, I like how they have some more unique colors here, like that tangerine orange (Flame) and yellow (Halo). Not sure how to wear Halo but don’t think I’ve ever seen a yellow blush. Angelique looks like a MAC Mineral Skin Finish. Eyeing Barbe a Papa (aka Cotton Candy is well named! ) and Cherubique, a little worried b/c it looks shimmery and some of that shimmer looks a little loose…..

Katherine, I have a pure yellow blush (Klimt Eastwood by Baroque Cosmetics) and I use it to layer. I rarely wear one color blush; rather, I either use one color as a c-shape from the back half of cheek around to my temples and then pop another color right at the forward edge of that on my cheekbone, or I cover the same area with two blushes and create a third color with the mix/layering. With the yellow one, I’m more likely to do the latter. I can turn one of my purple-colored blushes into a bronzer with the yellow, and to my eye, it’s more pleasing than a single color used the same way. (FWIW, I’m an artist and cannot tolerate single, unmodified colors — I blend, layer, tint, and glaze like there’s no tomorrow, and cannot resist doing the same on my face.)

Wow, that sounds beautiful! You’re so creative ! I would never think to do that, but it makes sense if you think of your face as a canvas and the makeup as paint 🙂

Oooh, Alecto, that sounds so pretty! I’ve been doing something similar with Hush and OC from the Gwen Stefani palette, but not as intense, I think.

I remember one of the Hunger Games Capitol City people had a look with just yellow blush around the upper cheekbones and temple that was really pretty. I think it was the lady with the monarch butterfly outfit. (Haven’t read the book or seen the movie; don’t know her name.) I thought that looked really cool, and have been dying to try it.

Barbe a Papa actually mean “daddy’s beard” in French, as cotton candy looks like a beard, so you are right. I was thinking “Barbie Doll” because it’s pink, but I googled it, and nope, it’s cotton candy!

I have medium skin tone nc30/35 and La Vie en Rose Looks great on me. I also picked up Grissaille (the contour shade), soft and subtle on my skin tone. De Cherubique is poppin’ for me.

Several of these look like they are designed for editorial looks or for women with lots of melanin. As for this pale lady Cherub looks like the only possible choice from these swatches. Thanks. I just love Surratt!

Well, hello, lovelies! I have two Surratt blushes and I love them, so I’m really happy to see more color options. Some of these look close to the current color selections, so I will wait for the full reviews before picking a new shade or two.

oh my good gods such gorgeous blushes!! The yellow, orange, pink, tan…ugh… Gosh I really want to try the yellow… well I never purchase any make up without looking at reviews so I’m highly anticipating your thoughts 😀
