The 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil formula is supposed to have “waterproof color that lasts all day” specifically for use “on the inner rim in the waterline.” The texture is described as “creamier” than their standard eyeliner. You might remember my review on the formula from before, where these marked one of the bigger misses from the brand for me (based on my experience). The texture is significantly different from those; it was extremely soft, smooth, and creamy–it glided on easily across the skin and the lower lash line. There was no tugging, no skipping, and no ragged dry edges like I experienced with the other shades. The color deposited evenly and with full coverage on the lower waterline. It had good color payoff–pretty much opaque in one stroke, which is always a spectacular achievement for an eyeliner–that went on evenly. The disappointment, though, is in the wear–four hours on the waterline, but it did last closer to seven hours on the lower lash line.

It’s nice to see that they listened to the feedback and made this shade in a better formula!
It’s a lot easier to use at least!
oh, maybe they’re still working on and tweaking the formula
It seems like it!
Hi Christine! Apologies for the off topic post, but I wasn’t sure where else to ask. I know you are a Guerlain fan and I just ordered a voyages refill and it doesn’t fit my compact. The powder is also a slightly different pattern. Any insight on the change?? I will be crushed if I can no longer order refills for my crazy expensive (and beautiful) compacts!
They recently reformulated/repackaged the refill, so that might be why?
Thanks for responding! Do you find any difference between the pressed meteorites in Clair and the meteorites voyages?
The Voyage is a little less pearly, I think. Any difference is going to be very, very subtle!
I’ve never had any luck getting anything to last on my waterline, so this doesn’t sound like a good one for me to try.
Definitely a pass 🙁 It’s not really any better than any random eyeliner – like it’s not surpassing wear at all for me.
I’m glad to see this got a better review than the previous 24/7 Waterline Eyeliner’s got, but I’m really bummed that this shade is a warm peachy beige instead of the cooler pink tinged beige the WOS is in the Naked Basic Palette, which would be PERFECT for my waterline!
At least this one wasn’t painful to use!
Hmm, 4 hours on the waterline isn’t terrible, but for a pencil advertised as being a long-lasting waterline liner, I do expect better. I’ll stick to my Nyx Wonder Pencil in Light. TBH, though, nothing stays on great on my lower waterline due to allergies. Strangely, the MJ Blaquer pencil does.not. budge. from my upper tightline. But that’s really just at the underside of my lashline, not my whole waterline.
It is about average for me, so it is disappointing 🙁
Looks like Rue Bonaparte would be the choice for me.
Good idea!
I’m telling you…I have yet to find a nude color eye liner that will last more than 15 minutes on my waterline. I will give this a shot.
Thanks!
Good luck, Sheila!
I’m like you Sheila, most eyeliners last about 15 min on my waterline too. I have especially bad luck with the long wearing waterproof ones like UD’s 24/7. I’ve found that for me, the harder pencils work best. Prior to application, I first soften the tip a bit by holding the tip between my fingers and/or stroking it on the back of my hand (or you could give it a blast of hot air from a hairdryer), then blot the waterline dry with a tissue. So far, Chanel Clair is my HG for a nude eye brightening waterline pencil and it lasts at least 2-3 hours on me. I keep a pencil in my makeup bag for touch ups. In 2nd place (because the color is a little darker) is glōMinerals Peach, and 3rd place (the color is a little darker and more yellow), but least expensive is NYX Wonder Pencil in Light. It’s got a waxier texture, which also works well.
I’ve also tried using NARS Porto Venere Eye Paint and topping it with a pencil or eyeshadow like UD’s Walk of Shame from the Naked Basics Palette (what I was hoping this pencil would look like, but sadly totally different color), and that works about the same, but it is more steps and products to apply. Still, you could give that a try too.
For reference I’m fair/cool/pink NW15. HTH!
I’ve tried running pencil under hot water to heat them up and I maybe get an extra 5 minutes LOL. I’ve tied NYX Wonder Pencil in Deep and Rimmel London ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Eye Liner in Nude, and most recently, MAC ‘Studio’ Chromagraphic Pencil in NC25/30. My skintone is NC45.
I just bought COVER FX Perfect Pencil in G Medium so I’ll see how this one works. If not, I’ll try the new Urban Decay.
Thanks for the tips!
Four hours sounds like a huge amount of time to me. My eyes water easily, especially if I put anything in the waterline, so the average wear for me is 10-30 minutes. 😀
I would say four hours is about average for me, as a FYI!
Lucky you! I figured you didn’t consider it great by the review, but I’d be really happy if anything lasted 4 hours in my waterline. 😀
I can see this as a very brightening shade on the waterline, but IDK…if it’s only lasting 4 hours on yours, probably won’t last that long on my wet, teflon one. But then again, if this one smudges or smears, it won’t look as messy as a black liner.
It just seems to… disappear? It is funny, because on my hand, it doesn’t really budge, but in practice, it seems much more malleable!
Awww, too bad it wears off relatively fast on the waterline.
Agreed!
After reading the comments, I must check to see how long liners last on my waterline. I rarely use anything on the waterline except colours like this, often a bit brighter, as my eyes are smallish.
I might try this. but it seems a bit on the warm side for me.
I feel like I need to start exploring more nude liners. I’ve tried NYX Wonder pencil in light but it’s a bit too light and the medium one is too dark. Not sure if I want to try this one though it seems like I might like the color better. Christine, do you have a favorite nude liner for the waterline?
MAC Chromagraphic pencils – there are two shades!
Thanks! I’ll check it out. 🙂
