Do you like your moisturizer with sunscreen or without?
Do you like your moisturizer with sunscreen or without? Why?
.
I actually like to have both. For everyday, I do like something all-in-one, because then I know it’s supposed to work together and all that good stuff. However, I do like to have a moisturizer without, for those occasions where I know I’ll be photographed a lot (e.g. family reunion!) in case the sunscreen washes me out.
I like my day one to have an spf as every little helps and i do have super fair easily burnt irish skin. My night one I dont really care as no need for an spf in bed.
Being extremely pale and since the sun can really harm my skint, I wear everything with sunscreen!
Vale
I have both. If I’m leaving the house AT ALL, even to run to the grocery, then I put on moisture+SPF. It’s silly not to! If I know I’m not going out, I may put on a basic moisturizer w/out the SPF, and of course, I don’t use SPF at night either.
I used to wear a moisturizer then slather on sunblock. I mostly use the sunblock as sort of primer for my makeup (the Neutrogena Helioplex SPF 50 kind) then I just felt like I’m putting on a lot of stuff on my face. Plus sunblock doesn’t really do it for me as a primer so now I just use a moisturizer w/ spf (I currently use Olay Total Effects w/ SPF 15).
I like my moisturizer without sunscreen but that being said, I use SPF50 matte sunscreen on top of my moisturizer on spring and summer. There’s no need to wear sunscreen for half of the year in Finland and I don’t want to wear sunscreen at nights. Most of the moisturizers have pretty low SPF so might as well use a higher one on top.
Sunscreen. Always. Period.
But I should point out that I’m lighter than NC15 except in summer, and extremely prone to freckling, which is ok, and burning, which is not. It’s smart to reduce photo aging and minimize your risk of skin cancer.
I have both. With SPF for daytime and without for nights I decide to go out. And also, if I know I won’t be going out, I’d rather not put SPF on my skin, after all, it is a lot of chemicals, so if I don’t need it, I won’t wear it.
I’m a bit obsessed with keeping my skin looking young for as long as I possibly can, but I live in a mediterranean country where the sun shines a lot. I’m also not a huge fan of plastic surgery so I work hard to protect my skin the natural way and that means I don’t leave the house without sunscreen. My moisturizer, foundation, tinted moisturizer, primer, they all have sunscreen.
I like my moisturizer WITH sunscreen for my face/neck/chest. I tend to mix my MAC Moisture Fix+ SPF 15 with a drop of MUFE Matt+Velvet to make my own tinted moisturizer. I have fairly oily skin with some dry spots. This combo really evens me out and lasts all day. Quick tip: also add a drop of NARS Orgasm Illuminator = AWESOME. At night, I use the Kiehls avocado eye cream only with a bit of Bare Vitamins Skin Revver Upper to ward off pimples.
With sunscreen for everyday. Without for when I’m not going out. My night cream of course doesn’t have sunscreen.
I prefer a moisturizer with both… 2 steps in one.
I use both. With SPF in the morning and without in the evening. It’s important to protect your skin year round from UV rays, so I just make it habit to moisturize every morning before putting on my makeup.
Without, because chemical sunscreens break me out. I’d much rather use a good moisturizer and THEN apply sunscreen, especially because there are some days when I stay home and do not venture into any sunlight, so I do not NEED the sunscreen every day. Plus, I am not using actual moisturizers right now, but using carrier oils to moisturize, since most normal moisturizers do not work on my skin – and I do not believe carrier oils are now being combined with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide!
Without. I like to be able to wear my moisturizer day and night, and my skin doesn’t need a day moisturizer in the summer.
This is my trifecta:
1. Moisturizer without, for night time, or if I’m not going to be outside.
2. Moisturizer with SPF15, for my average days.
3. Some other separate sunblock with SPF greater than 35 for days where I will be in the sun a lot–the beach, a baseball game, a day at an amusement park, etc. And this, I carry with me in my purse, so I can reapply as needed.
Definitely with. I’m starting to show my first signs of aging and I realize that this is one of the best ways to slow down the process.
I always wear a moisturizer w/ sunscreen under my makeup during the day and a regular moisturizer at night, or if I’m not going out in the sun that day. I have dry sensitive skin, so moisturizer is always a must. You have to protect your skin!
I like my moisturizers and foundations without SPF. when I feel that sun screen is necessary I will apply when needed.
I prefer moisturiser without SPF as I find it usually causes me to break out. I only wear SPF if I’m going to be in direct sunglight for a prolonged time.
i like my moisturizers without because i have dark skin and when sunscreens contain zinc, it turns up very blue on me. its not a good look!
I like my moisturizer and sunscreen separately, because I’ve read a number of articles that say sunscreen is more effective when not mixed with other things (I wait between applying the two).
Both. With sunscreen for daytime, without for nighttime.
with, just because I know it’s better for me.. but I HATE the smell
With, it’s so much easier to apply it at the same time, then separately. Though I have oily skin and the moisturizer’s meant for oily usually don’t come in SPF.
sunscreen is a must for daytime; I use a SPF 40 or 50+ on top of my moisturiser or serum; therefore it’s not so important that my moisturizer has a SPF in it. However, when I stay indoors (say, on a lazy sunday) I skip the SPF 50 and use only a moisturizer with sunscreeen (15 or 20 SPF)in it, obviously before my makeup!
I love the ease of having a moisturizer with SPF, makes life soooo easy. BUT, I have oily skin and have never found one that doesn’t make me an oil slick…even those meant to be mattifying. So aggravating. Now I’m using the B. Kamins oilfree sunscreen alone during the day, and it’s the first time a cream product with spf hasn’t made me oilier! Life-saving! I’ve even tried the Shiseido SPF38 for face, and that’s equally fab. I have just resigned myself to only using a moisturizer at night. When I use too many layers, even when I leave enough time for them to sink in, my makeup isn’t smooth at ALL. It’s working for me so far 🙂
WITHOUT; my physician advises 15 minutes sun exposure a day for osteopenia. I cannot find out whether Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Cream or the Total Effects 7 Vitamin Complex contain sunsacreen. No clue from the Olay website.
