Sneak Peek: NARS L'Amour, Toujours L'Amour Eyeshadow Palette Photos & Swatches
NARS L’Amour, Toujours L’Amour Eyeshadow Palette
NARS L’Amour, Toujours L’Amour Eyeshadow Palette ($59.00 for 0.84 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette releasing on December 31st at narscosmetics.com. The formula that NARS used in the palette for all but the mattes is substantially different than just about every NARS eyeshadow I’ve tried–it is heavy on the silicone and is more like Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows, Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows, and Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadows.

The shimmery shades are pretty! Not sure how I feel about the mattes though.
Lovely mix of undertones! This has quite a few colors that would work very well on cooler complexions, making it just a hint different. Interested to see this new formula. You can definitely see it’s smoother/more silicone-y.
Oh … no individual shade names, then.
Oh my goodness! These look great ,all But the matte blue. There are some unique neutral- ish shades that I like too! Ugh! So much is coming out at once. I feel like it’s the Holidays! 🙂
This is a very different spring launch or as they call it a “gifting collection”. The swatches all look great, but seems more a winter toned palette instead of a spring palette. I’ll be very interested to see your review of this!
does that mean you like the formula better for these shadows? Are they like Urban Decay shadows– very pigmented, soft, and buttery? Thanks!
My reaction was pretty much like Kayle’s – this looks like a nice palette and the shimmery shades do seem better than some of the mattes. I’m just reaching another one of those “eyeshadow overload” times – I just feel really overloaded, as much as it’s my favourite cosmetic (doesn’t help that I just bought ANOTHER Buxom Customizable eyeshadow palette!). So I’ll see what I have in dupes when you publish a full review.
I HATE how there are 4 big shadows at the top. Seriously, I would never use 1/10th of that big black pan. I really feel that these colors just don’t even belong together.
This looks like a Jekyll Hyde palette –the shimmery shades look great, but the matte ones look bad, especially the blue. Hope they use the new formula in other shadows -bring on the silicone!!
I’m not feeling it. The shimmers look great, but the mattes look a bit rough.
These looks great! #12 is gorgeous!
At first glance, these all seemed dupable even amongst NARS’ own permanent range, but I do see a few exceptions… I may end up caving, if only for #7, which I wish was in one of the larger pans (it looks like it’ll be an amazing transition shade).
I was just thinking this morning that I’m over NARS — and then I see these swatches! They are my kind of colors and seem to have performed well. I may have to indulge yet again.
Happy New Year to you and yours, Christine!
Well finally, Nars did a decent quality non-DI eyeshadow palette! Although that matte navy looks rather patchy and weak, everything else looks pretty eyeshadow!
#8, #9, and #12 are lovely!
I really really love the cooler browns in this palette. I’m wearing one today from last years Sephora Pantone Marsala palette and man.. they just pick me up and my eye colour so much better than warm browns. The other shadows are not as exciting, but I may need to grab this palette for that right side row on the outside. Will definitely be checking out your review 🙂
Really liking the looks of #s 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12. #s 1, 2, and 5 I would use — if the quality is there, I might spring for this, I like the cool browns and the grays. Too bad the blue looks patchy. Reminding me in some ways of the UD/Gwen Stefanie palette (mostly neutral and mostly shimmery with a pop of blue and yellow/gold), but cooler and without pink, and hence more useful for me 🙂
The mattes look fairly dry and patchy, but the shimmery colours are beautiful. Especially Numbers 8 & 9. Love those greys.
Interesting layout. I wonder why they chose to have the four that are twice the size of the others be just the ones they are, seems quite random to me. Maybe they thing they are the four to build on, or something like that.
It’s been said by others, so nothing new from me, the shimmers look good, the mattes not so much.
It will be really interesting to read the reviews.
I’m in love with #8! Can’t wait for the full review, but looks like one of these goodies will be sitting on my vanity pretty soon!
The shimmery shades look so gorgeous, especially that gold, oh my! Yep, I definitely like the look of this palette.
Oh goodness I was going to pass on this one as I have every other Nars palette, the last being the Duo Intensity palette – which is awesome. Now I am going to have to reconsider. The Nars brand keeps pulling me in. Your review says the consistency is different than any you have seen before – I am going to bite the bullet and give it a try. At least I’ll get free shipping! I can’t resist Nars eyeshadows.
