I am interested in Aim to Please as a dupe for NARS Dolce Vita.
I just did a side-by-side comparison, and it looks like Aim to Please is slightly darker with noticeably more red and a shinier finish. I would say it’s probably round 85% similar.
It is worth noting that the MAC Velvetease pencils are less than 60% of the size of NARS’s Velvet Matte lip pencils (,05 oz compared to .086 oz). So yes, the NARS pencils are $6 more, but you’re also getting nearly twice as much product.
Oh interesting! Compared to MAC, NARs is more expensive but has a lot more product ($26 for .086 oz) but you have to sharpen it, so you lose some product. But the BITE High Pigment Pencil looks like the best deal ( $ 24 for.09 oz and no need to sharpen!)
Most of these swatches look promising! I notice they are a little cheaper than NARS and BITE, curious to see how they compare
Although none of these shades appeal to me compared to the promo photo’s the formula seems to be behaving nicely.
Aim to Please is a lovely shade! Looks great.
Oooh ooh ooh! These look really promising…except for the darkest which looks kind of streaky.
This is exciting! These swatches seem promising!
Oh Honey looks lovely.
Yay! MAC has been disappointing me nearly all year so I’m super happy to see these swatches look as good as they do. The lighter, milkier shades look a little troublesome compared to the rest but at this point I expect that; choose shades just seem very difficult to formulate just right.
I’m excited!
All but three Look good! I can’t wait for your reviews! Omg..I love Velvet Teen..it needs a lip liner . But maybe it won’t be drying like the Nars formula is! Oh no..Oh Honey is my fave lipliner! Yep, please do well ! Thank you for reviewing these. I’m pretty excited! 😀
Velvetease..my bad!
These look promising, I hope they get good reviews! Although I need more lippies like a hole in the head, I’m crossing my fingers for Aim to Please and Oh Honey.
I’m excited for them! They do look promising as everyone mentioned, especially the reds, but I wish the lighter shades would perform better, it seems that they are somewhat drying and have some “sparkle” that doesn’t appeal much to me. Thank you so much for this post Christine! xx
Almost every one of these look quite smooth, matte but not flat, and richly pigmented. I LOVE! The one I love the most is Anything Goes, which looks like a less dry, much more comfy All Fired Up!
Anything Goes and Just My Type are calling my name color wise!
This kind of remind me of e.l.f. Matte Lip Colors. The really light shades look pretty awful, but I quite like the brights. Aim to Please and Oh Honey are beautiful.
Some really pretty colours there – I hope they are good. Love the berry colour the best.
The formula looks promising…looking forward to the reviews!
Oh Honey looks like a promising peachy brown, my favorite color, and a difficult one to get right. I”ve been wearing a lot of MAC’s oldy but goody, Touch. My lips are very pink, so I have to go browner and peachier to get a nice nude/ brown shade. I like the patent lip pencil that I got, hopefully these will be of good quality and have more color depth than the patent pencils which are more like stick glosses. Thanks for the preview!
The first one Aim To Please looks a lot like Nars Dolce Vita matte pencil. Maybe a tad darker?
The only shade I really love is “Reddy to go”, but I will have to see how the others perform on me. Lip pencils are my weakness.
I like aim to please and reddy to go.
