I passed it over to my dad to hide until Christmas (I got it during the VIB sale) so I have no idea! I did take a look at it to see if it was broken or anything but it seemed like a really nice consistency. Sorry I can’t give you more info!

2 bottles of Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Mist – one for work, one for home. It’s about $40 a bottle, but I got it at about 27% off via cash back and sephora sale. My face is sensitive to alcohol and perfumes, and about 99% of facial mists have them, but this one doesn’t. It does have a natural, refreshing scent from the plant ingredients used. It provides light to moderate moisture, and I can spritz over makeup too

I’m quite liking the Josie Maran facial mist! It is pricey, but for me, it’s worth it, because it’s so hard to find a facial mist without perfume/fragrance or bad alcohols. There is a light natural scent (like rosewater), the glass bottle is very elegant and hefty, and the spray is a refined mist, so it has a very luxe feel to it. I do wish they would make a small, plastic travel spray for purse. It’s very refreshing and provides light to moderate moisture to skin, not heavy or greasy, also nice for setting or refreshing makeup. Sephora had a tester bottle you can use. I’m also liking the Peter Thomas Roth Aloe Tonic Mist (on sale at Sephora for $ 16). It’s not as elegant, and the spray is not as refined, but it seems to be a little more hydrating, but also a little more tacky, but not uncomfortably so.

Thank you so much for your awesome review Katherine!!! You’ve inspired me to grab in on my next Sephora run. So happy to hear it’s working well for you. I also was looking for a mist without alcohol, and this fits the bill nicely. Going to look into the PTR one too. Just discovering his products and I love all that I’ve tried.

You’re very welcome Ciara! I’ll also love PTR – my recs are his 10% glycolic acid (not that hydrating but great for exfoliating and deep cleaning/shrinking pores), his Firmx Peeling Gel (my HG exfoliator), and his pumpkin scrub mask. If you want to try more stuff, he’s having a $5 special on all Travel Sizes right now, and there’s about 25 items to choose from.

Guerlain Air Kiss lipstick! And it is so very worth it! Not only does it look utterly beautiful on, it keeps my lips nice and hydrated. Which isn’t the usual for shimmery or frosty finishes when it comes to lipstick. The only thing I wasn’t prepared for, and didn’t notice it when I got to try it on at Nordstrom’s, was the perfume SMELL! It does disappear within a few minutes, thank goodness!

Guerlain Meteorites Perles Des Neiges Wintry Collection. I’ve never used Guerlain products but this powder was so compelling (and discounts via Saks & eBates), I thought it was a good investment. I haven’t even opened it yet but I have it in my hot little hands.

My Becca matte primer! It’s one of my core workhorses, but $36 for a tube always feels like a major splurge, especially since I go through it so quickly!

A 2nd Guerlain eye and cheek palette from the holiday 2015 collection for back up, with the rouge G in merveilleux rose from the same collection.

I was hesitating between the rouge G and the matte gloss wich ticked my curiosity, but I ended choosing the rouge G, for the perfect formula and in fact it can become matte too !
Because, if you reconsider the matte trend, actually you can turn most of, or maybe even any, opaque lipstick into a matte version ! If you wear the rouge G for example, after some times, after a breakfast for example, the shine will fade and it will just look matte ! But it’s formula is that great that the colour is still there.
There are videos of people who just add talc or mattifying powder on regular lipstick to make it look matte.
For me matte lipsticks look in every day (not editorial) are just faded regular lipsticks. Why paying a matte one when you can have both with the rouge G with a perfect formula ?! I’m certainly not going to re-buy all my favourite colours in the matte version, as some brands would like us to do. 😉

My favorite splurge of this season has to be
CHANEL Joues Contraste Lumiere
12 Coups De Minuit
Highlighting Blush

I wasn’t planning on getting this but when I saw it online it looked stunning and when I went to my local Chanel counter one look was all it took and I knew I had to have it the rest of the line I could go without but I wasn’t letting this one slip past me it’s like butter and that color, I actually don’t have anything quite like it. Simply gorgeous!

UD Naked Smoky palette
too Faced semi sweet chocolate bar
anastasia contour kit in light to medium
Kat Von D Shade + Light face palette
Benefit real cheeky holiday palette

and got 2 mac lipsticks for Back 2 MAC: blankety and a backup of HoneyLove

Apparently “Cocoa Mirage” and “Love Flush” from TF$, which happened to be in my cart saved when I ordered something last night! Do not sleep and shop 🙂

Well, I’m sure it would not be considered a splurge for most of the US people, but to me, to pay US $23 for a tiny eye shadow pot from MAC (Tonight is the Night) is a definition of splurge, especially considering that I own enough eye shadows as is.

Some Kjaer Weis eyeshadows. I bought the refill pans and put them in a Z-palette to shave a few $$ off the price (although her packaging is gorgeous, I prefer my single eyeshadows in a self-made palette). I’m really pleased, especially with how the colors I use for base and transition shades (Cloud Nine and Grace, so far, but I’m going to add Wisdom) diffuse rather than emphasize the texture on my well-worn eyelid skin.

Cough cough: my entire sephora vib order. Welp.

Seriously though, my mufe large foundation brush. I generally hate using a brush for foundation because they can be a bit streaky in application , but I think I like this brush.

Happy thanksgiving to you and yours 🙂

My November Sephora order was one complete splurge. I have never spent so much money in make up at one time! I got Viseart palettes in dark matte and bridal satin, ALL the Kat Von D shadow singles (!!), the Marc Jacobs BIG holiday eyeshadow palette, Guerlain’s Kiss Kiss Air Kiss lipstick, and Geurlain’s Rouge G in Gisela. It was ridiculous!

Erin Avatar

Everything I’ve been buying has been pretty inexpensive as far as beauty stuff goes! The last time I spend more than $50 on any one item was some LE Chanel for last years birthday. I honestly would have bought the whole collection if I’d had the $$$. I felt the same way about their holiday last year, spring, blue rhythm, and this Vamp collection. I don’t have the money to love them as much as I do!

SummerFabulous Avatar

I purchased “The gift of Red Carpet skin” & “The Bar of Gold” from Charlotte Tilbury as a little pre-holiday gift for myself. Completely worth it!

UD Mother Lode. I’m back into make-up after a few year hiatus (I go in phases–it’s like a hobby to me; I’ll be all about doing my make-up for awhile and active on the boards, then I’ll go a few years where I can’t be bothered), and I’ve picked up a few fun new things recently, but this was definitely a splurge. I wish I realized when I purchased it three weeks ago that they run sales on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, because, ugh! the $$ I could have saved!

KJH Avatar

MJ and MUFE palettes for xmas. Might have justified the latter, but did the former first, so it’s e/s overkill. MUFE was my first, and it has become an obsession. I’m already laying out trios for the next sale, bec my faves are usually not in the premades. The MJ trios & 7s don’t appeal to me nearly as much. So, the splurge will be ongoing. Boooo!

Cory Avatar

I just bought my 1st bttl of DiorSkin Forever because I was so blown away by the sample I got, which actually lasted me a month of daily usage.
I know most makeup lovers wouldn’t consider it a splurge, but I’ve nvr owned a higher end foundation foundation before this. I’ve been on a BB/CC cream kick since they came out, & most of them are under $40.

dawn etheridge Avatar

I got one of the louboutin lipsticks with the VIB sale. I knew I would regret it if I didn’t get one when the sale was going on. It is truly a splurge but I needed one for my collection:)

Sarah Avatar

I bought 6 of the Viseart palettes. Had I discovered how awesome they were sooner, I’d own a lot less palettes that aren’t as good but still weren’t cheap either. I’m looking at you, Tartelette palette for ONE example. Viseart shadows are a whole different level. I bought the Neutral Warm Mattes first and then the Cool Toned Mattes. And the rest is history. I’m in love.

Ciara Avatar

Been splurging on highlighters lately, so I’ve gotten both Oh, Darling and Shaft of Gold from the M.A.C holiday collection, the Becca Afterglow palette, and Laura Geller’s Gelato Swirl Illuminators in Ballerina and Gilt Honey.
