Milani Infinite Liquid Liner Review, Photos, Swatches
Long-wearing Liquid Liner with Milani Infinite
Milani Infinite Liquid Liner ($5.99 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a long-wearing liquid liner that is available in five shades (and new for spring): Infinite (blue), Endless (purple), Eternal (green), Forever (brown), and Everlast (black). I test drove three of the five shades (but I’ll be reviewing the other two later down the line, not to worry!) over the past few weeks, and I gotta say, these hold up to their name!
- Eternal is a medium grassy-green with yellow undertones, gold sheen, and a metallic finish. It reminded me of MAC Lucky Green Eyeshadow, but in a liquid liner format. It’s just a smidgen greener than MAC Greenplay Liquidlast.
- Infinite is a bright medium blue with a slightly metallic finish/sheen. It’s a dead ringer for MAC Blue Herizon Liquidlast–total dupe.
- Everlast is a matte, flat black. It’ll apply quite glossy initially, but once it dries down, it will be a flat, but intense, black. I don’t own MAC Point Black Liquidlast, but from the swatches I’ve done of it in the past, the two should be incredibly interchangeable.
The good: These will wear and wear and wear. They won’t budge or smudge until you’re ready to take them off. They’re also water-resistant and crease-proof, so they’re perfect for summer days spent at the beach, ocean, or pool. The shade range has two more everyday/wearable shades (Forever and Everlast) and three “fun” shades (Endless, Eternal, and Infinite), so it’s a nice mix. I, of course, would love to see Milani expand the color range–I want to see some teals, pinks, duochrome kind of colors.
The bad: They can take awhile to dry if you apply too heavily. If you apply a thin layer, drying time is around twenty to thirty seconds, but if you go thicker, you’re looking at over a minute. I found they stayed wet a little long for my personal preference, but once I was aware of it, it wasn’t an actual issue when I used them. The brush itself is a little on the large side, which made it difficult to apply straight from the tube, so I did opt to use a thin, angled brush to apply it instead.
Taking them off can be a challenge if you’re not used to incredibly long-wearing makeup, but I found that a good oil-based remover like Lancome’s Bi-Facil or shu uemura’s cleansing oil did the trick. I like Bi-Facil on a cotton swab, because it allows me to get everything off in just one swipe.
These are very, very similar to MAC’s Liquidlast Liners–from the shades themselves to how well they wear. Liquidlast Liners run a bit thicker (but not actually thick) than Milani’s Infinite, which feels kind of thin, but the pigmentation is the same on both. Liquidlast Liners retail for $17.50 a pop for 0.085 fl. oz. while Infinites retail for $5.99 a pop for 0.17 fl. oz. (That’s a third of the cost for twice the product!)

Recommendation: If you love liquid liner and want one that keeps on going long after the sun goes down, Milani offers a truly long-wearing product. Oh, and if you love MAC Liquidlast Liners, then I think you’d love these, too!

Dried down & dupes! Milani Eternal / MAC Greenplay, Milani Infinite / MAC Blue Herizon, Milani Everlast
haha hilar. i just bought the black one of these 3 days ago and i’m wearing it now. i agree completely with the review. i HATED the mac liquidlast liners because they were impossible to get off without an oil-based remover. these are a bit easier but still have fantastic staying power.
Oh my goddd , I know ! I have the pink MAC make up remover and I still have to like scrub so hard at my eyes to take it off .
Wow, I think your Milani reviews excite me the most these days out of all the reviews 🙂 because you can’t beat the price for the grade! I’m going to have to pick up the green and blue and purple!
I share the same sentiments Rosie!
Argh, darn the fact that I’m in Singapore. We don’t have these here.
love the green, will have to pick these up!
These are pretty, is there a drugstore where I can find all or most of the Milani makeup line? the ones I’ve been too only has a few of their eyeshadows here and there and some nailpolishes.
Not sure, to be honest 🙁 It seems like it’s a mixed bag at all the stores I’ve been to when it comes to Milani!
Actually, if you can’t find it in the store, you can find it online. Milani official site sells them and Cherry Culture also sells them. (retail price of course.) Well, being Intl, I go to cherry culture because the shipping price is reasonable.
I was having trouble finding them and then someone suggested cvs… They have everything From the line there!
i bought them online on cherrycoulture
Christine, do you have any suggestions for a liquid liner that isn’t matte? I love that glossy look of the wet swatches!
The colored ones of Milani have that sheen, though the brown and black are flat.
I can’t think of any off hand, but you may want to look at shades with descriptions like “patent” black, which may be glossier!
Are you thinking of the same brown I am? Do they maybe have six colors? Because I have the “brown” and it is actually more like a bronze. VERY metallic light brownish color with lots of gold to it. I love it lots 😀 I have to pick up all the others though, for this price. Is it terrible that I keep waiting for BOGO when I have several liquidlasts I’ve paid full price for?
I haven’t tried it yet, it’s in my to-be-tested pile 🙂
These remind me of the Suave commercial (or is it Aussie) – the one where they’re like, “I’m not telling,” on whether they’re using a salon brand or not…
Oh gotcha! You may find it’s a little less than brown 😉
Don’t they? Really super nice liners. (I feel that way about their blushes and those Liquif’Eyes, too…though the Liquif’Eyes drive my eyes crazy if they go on the waterline :() I need to get over my complex of never paying full price for drugstore brands. I tend to buy them when I don’t have a real need and am just jonesing to buy makeup even when I shouldn’t spend the money…the BOGOs convince me it’s cheap and I buy stuff I don’t often want. But I *do* want these, all the colors…so why not pay a whopping six bucks?
Oh, I can’t pay full price for drugstore. LOL. It’s not like high-end where you have to wait for a once-a-year F&F sale at Sephora… you know it’s going on sale in the next few weeks! I can TOTALLY relate!
i have the purple one. i love it except i wish it was more of a brighter purple. but these are great and im going to eventually pick up the other colors. i do agree with you 100% about the drying time, the brush, and how it can be a bitch to get off. lol.
omg I love Eternal!
Stupid question Christine – when you use a seperate liner brush, do you dip it in the tube or take the color from the products brush?
I take some from the included liner brush! 🙂 Sometimes the brush won’t fit into the tube, but my thing is I don’t want liner all over the brush handle, lol!
You was reading my mind. Last night I was scrolling through and seen the estee lauder e/s packaging and said I wonder if the milani liquid liner will be reviewed. Thanks for the review.
I’ve never used these, but have used MAC’s Liquidlast and Gosh’s Extreme Art Eyeliner (virtually identical formula). To combat the way they smudge and transfer to the upper lid when wet, I just close my eyes and give my lids a quick blast with my hair dryer. Five seconds and it’s done, and the vibrant color lasts almost forever.
I don’t think i’ve ever seen the brand here in Canada. I’m guessing this is only available in the states?? i would love to pick up the green one!
I am not sure! You can check out their website to see if they’re available near you!
Um, try Superstore… at least my local one carries some, but not all. So there are no liquid liner there. Not to worry though. Either go to Milani official site or Cherry Culture. (I think Milani also charges 5 dollar handling fee on top of the 5.00 under 20 purchase to canada) I think Cherry cultre’s shipping is only 6.95 under 4 lb? Go check it out- cherry culture carry Milani at retail price too..
wow these look like they would stay on forever.
These sound pretty amazing!
I love MAC Liquidlasts, but it’s such a shame that MAC has discontinued so many of the fun colors. The Milani Etnernal look like something I’d love! 🙂
Too bad we can’t get Milani where I live though 😛
Do you know if these are safe for skin? Like if I wanted to a face painting for a photoshoot? Thanks so much Christine! You really do put out great reviews!
I am not sure! I would presume if it’s safe for the eye area, it should be fine for the skin (since the eye area is typically more sensitive).
OMG.. im gonna pick them up.. just the green and blue.. im so happy with my mac fluidline.. and penultimate liner.. :D:D
These colors simply call my name! LOL! Love the green and blue liner! So lovely and vidi colors!
Can’t wait for you to review the other 2 🙂
Christine, can you take a pictue of the brush? Will it still give an even line?
I’ll try!
I have them in Endless (purple) and Forever (brown) and love them. I thought they were easier to apply than some other liquid liners I’ve tried.
Hi Christine, love your review as always. I actually own the black liner. I bought about six months ago just to try it out. It is really nice and it goes on so smooth and dries dark and creamy and I love it. Next time CVS has BOGO on Milani products I will rack up on the other colors.
Infinite looks gorgeous and Everlast looks like the perfect glossy black.
eek! I just reviewed this the other day and I personally despise them. I love that the staying power is strong but they were a gloopy mess (probably has a little to do with the brush.) I didn’t like the brushes for these at all. I know I can just use one of my own brushes but I don’t like having to put in the “extra effort.” =P
I always find that I prefer using an angled brush (separate) than any included liner brush, so I guess it’s not an extra step for me at all 🙂
I actually found these on the thinner side!
want them all!!! specially for that price, you get something so water resistant, wow!!! and the colors so pretty!!!
Oh – that GREEN. I. Must. Have. IT!
I get my Milani at CVS drugstore. It goes on sale a lot there also! Love it!
OMG, those colors are intense, I’m running to get some today..thanks Christine!
OMG I just found this review! I am so stoked & my mom is going to be elated when I share this with her! SHe is strictly drugstore (she’s in her 70’s ) but will only splurge on MAC liquidlast in point black! Which..let me tell you is a big deal for her! I cant wait to try these babies out! You are doing a greater service than you know to a lot of women on a fixed income in this economy that still wanna look FIERCE! Much Luv & appreciation for all your research & hard work <3
I’m so glad!!
Great review! I’ve just done one of my own on these on the new blog I just started: http://justoffsunset.blogspot.com/ I was inspired to start one because of you Christine 🙂
You’re absolutely right. I find them to be exactly like MAC’s liners. Which is why I don’t like these. Do they stay on? Hell yes. Good luck getting them off 🙂 I have to use my own gel makeup remover to get these suckers to budge. But I find their consistency to be far too thick, making them difficult to work with. I have yet to try using them with one of my very thin, stiff liner brushes, though. Couldn’t be bothered before. I’ll have to give that a shot as I was not happy that I’ve now got my MAC product in addition to this Milani one just sitting there gathering dust 🙁
I just checked and the Milani product has 5ml for the price. MAC’s product has only half of that. So Milani is definitely the better buy here. I also just tried applying them both to my eyes using my bent liner brush. The Milani product goes on a lot more pigmented, more smoothly, taking less messing around with the product. MAC’s was harder to work with and had an even worse consistency. The nice thing about them both is that they don’t gather in black clumps of crap in the corners of the eyes throughout the day. They truly do NOT budge at all. The brushes on both products are bloody terrible. They both definitely apply much more easily with the bent liner, although they both have a very gloopy formula. All in all, the Milani product beats the MAC product hands down. And I just discovered that I can use them after all 🙂
Does the Infinite have any Mercury in it?
