Haul: my MAC vampify glosses came in yesterday. When I put on Modern Drama straight from the tube I freaked out because I might as well have put on black lipstick! It was so unexpectedly dark! I put it on with a lip brush this morning and it’s much more wearable. To me it looks like the lipgloss version of Nightmoth (lip liner). I also got Peer Pressure, Hyperfabulous, Suggestive, and Tuned In.
Weekend plans: I took the day off work to get started on a thorough cleaning of the house. It’s like spring cleaning, but in the fall instead. Will be cleaning behind furniture, under beds, etc.
Favorite snack food: For the past three months I have snacked on a bag of fresh cherries everyday. I just put them in a Baggie in the morning and keep them by my desk at work. Now that the cherries aren’t available at the market, I will switch back to blueberries and apples.
Question: Has anyone had to return make up items to Nordstroms? I don’t know what their policy is on returning items that have been tried but don’t perform well.

Hi Tammy. Nordstrom is amazing about returns on cosmetics. If you have a box with the Nordstrom Sku or a receipt you are good. I returned a primer that I had barely used that was almost 6 months old for a full refund- no questions asked.
Nordstrom has an amazing return policy ( like seriously, I need to start shopping there more). But I bought a palette at the rack , had absolutely no problems returning it. They didnt even ask any questions. You should not have a problem returning makeup
You can return anything to Nordstrom, even makeup that has been tried. Just make sure you have either your receipt or the little Nordstrom sticker they put on the packaging when you buy it. I think they can even look purchases up by what card you used, too. I have never had any problems returning things there!
Nordstrom Rack is a different story – they no longer accept beauty item returns unless it is very obvious that it has not been used, for example: the item is still wrapped up in its plastic packaging.

Snacks: probably most consistantly tea and coffee, but if there’s Lebanese bread, hummus and chillies in the house I will eat it, compulsively. And at my folks house sourdough bread with butter, I don’t buy it because I’m the only one who’ll eat it and I’ll eat it all in a couple of days :-\

National Dog Day! Woohoo! I did not know until now! My doggy is going to the beauty shop today. Can you believe her hair cost more than mine?! LOL
Haul: Mac: Mind control and I wound up settling on about 10 of the Vamplifly glosses and a backup for Tuned in. I am going to pick up the glosses this afternoon. I ordered Tuned In and What’s going On and just fell in love. There are a couple of online exclusives. One was sold out. But, I ordered the warm-pinkish one. I also had the SA add 2 of the pro-longwear pencils in for 2 shades that I didn’t think I had one to go with. I’ve never used those so I’m hoping they work out. if not, the Mac counter is at Nordstrom and they are super with returns/exchanges.
Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage <3, UD Sheer Beso <3, Dior maximizer lash primer , and the new Nars mascara, KVD lock-it Featherweight primer , MUFE HD liquid foundation and 127 and 128, and sleek blush in pomegranate.
Weekend plans: Not too much yet. I was asked on a date just yesterday for Saturday. But, I can't decide if I want to go! I went out with this guy about 5 years ago..I just don't know. Otherwise, grocery store, gym, laundry, sleep.
My favorite snacking food: Well, Pop tarts and Queso dip. But, that's not good for me. So, I try to stick to fresh veggies and fruit or pretzels if I must have crunchy/salty. I'll be honest though, I do eat my Pop Tarts and Queso pretty often because I think that depriving yourself leads to a binging cycle and life is short- enjoy it! 🙂

LOL! My parents’ had a pekingese and it was amazing how grooming bills can add up! I take Mellan in every few months (I usually wash him at home every 4-6 weeks), and it’s like $80 — and he doesn’t get a hair cut, haha, just bathing and brushing.

My dog costs about $100 at the groomer plus tip. But, I get her bathed because I hate doing it because she freaks out!

I got 2 deluxe samples from Nordstrom that I’m saving for winter and I may but it at the Sephora sale. The Sephora brand is its cheap date sleep over version,lol. Sorry..it’s Saturday.:)

*Haul – Chanel Tisse Smoky (will play with next week), I got Chanel D’Autmnes and love, love the color scheme, but I think I got a bad batch –3 of the 4 colors are dry and on the sheer side, they don’t look anything like the vibrant swatches I saw online 🙁 I tried over different primers and cream bases, the only way I can get it to look pigmented is by applying with damp brush. I’ve read nothing but rave reviews on this kit from bloggers and readers, so I think I’m going to exchange for another one.

Haul: I finally went to Stockholm again! I got: Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette, original Beauty Blender, Sephora Waterproof eye khol, Isadora Perfect Lipliner in Zinfandel, Lush R&B, a backup fo TBS Camomile Waterproof makeup remover, Urban Decay Electric palette and some freebies: Sephora blush, micellar water and Kiss me balm. I’m most excited about the Electric palette, I’ve been wanting it for so long I have no clue why I didn’t get it any sooner!
Weekend plans: Homework and dance class.
Favorite thing to snack on?: Hmm… I think fruit and berries. Our school cafeteria just started selling fruit salad so I buy it almost everyday, haha. But I’m not going to pretend I’m that healthy, my second favorite my list is definitly milk chocolate!!

I love dog grinnies. I knew a coupla Russian Wolfhounds. One, Moscow, (stood waist-high) liked to walk up to you, point that long Borzoi skull up at you, look you straight in the eye with gold eyes, and smile, showing those huge Borzoi fangs and more teeth than a crocodile. (He sired my own Borzoi.) Another Rocky, was nearly euthanized for biting (I saw the scars) and his owner was telling stories about his terrible behavior. I was obviously nervous, which clearly embarrassed him so he hid his face in my lap, although this did not stop him from growling at another male Borzoi who wanted some cuddles.
Haul: Iconic 1,2,3 Palettes, Makeup Revolution, along with Atomic lipstick shades Make Me Tonight (gave to a friend), Magnificent and Make It Right (love those) plus some brow tint.
I love Wolfhounds. So. Much! Husband said no dog of that size unless he’s dead, lol! They are so, so lovely.
Borzoi fold really well. I know, because I’ve neatly packed 6 grown ones into the back of a Camaro. No muss, no fuss, and no fights, despite several entire dogs and bitches nose to tail. Great dogs, so you know, maybe your husband would survive. Especially if you buy from racing lines. They’re smaller and handier than show lines.
Borzois are so elegant and so formidable… and they seem much smarter than Afghans, which are that dangerous combination of lightning and not much judgment.
Haul: From Ulta – NYX Playdate lipstick, L’Oreal Pure Purple silkissime eye liner, NYX Lavender Sparkle eyeliner, OPI Oh Suzi Mio polish, Real Techniques brow grooming brush. They didn’t include the samples I selected and I’m kind of annoyed.
From ColourPop – Nevermind and Poison lippie pencils, Mixed Tape, Party Time, Plaid, and Straight Trippin shadows.
Weekend Plans: We’re going to Milwaukee to visit a friend and drop off our foster cat to her new permanent home.

Haul: Pixi mattelustre lipstick in Petal Pink…which is similar to UD’s idea of a “matte” and unfortunately did not agree with my lips. I gave it away to a friend. Very nice, smooth formula though. I might try picking it up in some of the red or coral shades since those pigments tend to be more agreeable with me. L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara, Wet ‘n’ Wild Fergie mattifying powder, and a few cheap brushes to throw into bags.
Weekend plans: Lots and lots of physics homework.

*Too Faced Vegas Nay Palette set – I love the colors and blendibility. The fallout is more than I would like on the really shimmery shades, but I can handle it. The four lightest pinky colors do show up differently on me. I’ve only swatched the loose shimmer, but it’s stunning. I’m allergic to Better Than Sex, so I’ll be giving that away.
*Milani – the three LE Rose Blushes; Dolci Bronze Gel Powder Eyeshadow (stunning!) and Color Statement Lipstick (pretty, but sheer); Amore Matte Lip Creme in Lust (love the color, and the formula is pretty good); and Color Statement Nail Lacquer as a free gift – I chose Sugar Plum.
*Ulta Nyx haul part 2 – CC Cream in Green Light to Medium; the rest of the Prismatic Shadows; Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania (I’ve been trying to get it since it debuted, but it’s always sold out even on the website).
*ColourPop – Ultra Matte Lips in Dr. M, Blondie, Guess, Sundae and Trap.
*e.l.f. – e.l.f. Essential Sunkissed Glow Bronzer. It’s gorgeous, but too intense for my face. I can use it lightly on my cheekbones, and it’s amazing on the eyes. Also, the Studio Mattifying Blotting Papers. I haven’t tried them yet, but I thought the hard case would be handy.
* Other – Wet n Wild fall palettes (haven’t opened them yet). Jordana Modern Matte Lipstick in Matte Classy and Matte Caliente. Profusion Glamour Bare Eye Shadow Palette in Strawberry Chocolate. Some e.l.f. and Real Techniques brushes. Sassy Girl VooDoo Friends keychain. I hung it on my makeup room mirror so as my beauty and fashion talisman. So cute!
Weekend plans: Hubby bought us a 6-person hot tub cheap from Craig’s list. It works, so we’re just putting in a new filter, pump seals, etc. Hopefully, we can get it all set up and filled this weekend. My sons’ friend is coming over tomorrow for computer and eating activities.

Also went to MAC last night for She-Rebel, but didn’t buy it. Instead I bought VG I lipstick and Burnt Pepper blush! Both look AMAZING on my medium olive (or according to my favorite MUA there, C4.5 and the other C range shades are actually have an “apricot neutral base instead of yellow as in NC”)

How would you describe the YSL formula, Olivia?
Hmmm I would say maybe satin finish. Comfortable on my lips. Not super pigmented but just right. You would think I would be better at this since I read your reviews like I read CNN. (All the time, every day). The color is amazing. I have never ever had a nude lipstick I love. The way I found it was actually pretty funny. I had tried the Marc Jacobs new nudes and fell in love with Role Play. They were out so they offered to order it online for me. I’m an instant gratification kind of girl so a couple of the sephora staff swatched Role Play on their hand and tried a whole bunch of different ones til I gave in and told them to go ahead and order it online. Well it was sold out. Right when I was about to leave, one of the girls was showing me the YSL red and I saw the nude right next to it, tried it, loved it! Those girls were so sweet. Might still get Role Play later on but I’m so happy with the YSL one.

Haul – nothing this week
Weekend plans – it is Father’s Day here in Australia on Sunday, so the whole family is coming for dinner. We have having Calamari (my husband’s favourite) with a Salt and Pepper crumb. It’s the only time we use the deep fryer. I usually have a couple of intricate salads to serve with this. Dessert: fruit salad.
Favourite snack – definitely celery sticks. Very nutritious and good for you.

My favorite new thing is the Agave Lip Mask. I LOVE everything about it! I’ve found that if I apply a thin layer before I start doing my makeup, I can apply lipstick over it without compromising the wear time. Yay!! =)
The L’Oreal highlighter is the best highlighter I’ve found for my coloring that isn’t too shimmery for my tastes (knocking Anna Sui’s Mystic Rose into second place). The Hard Candy concealer didn’t crease at all during the five hours I wore it… and that was totally unexpected!
The sunscreen was for my husband, the LaVanilla has been put aside for my oldest daughter (who smelled my sample and took it for herself), and the Tarte palette and UD Flushed will be gifted to my youngest daughter. I haven’t used some of the other products yet, including the KVD palettes.
YAY!! Agave Lip Mask is really a good one 🙂

Plans: do stuff around the house. Not very exciting, but necessary.
Snacks: my all-time favourite is probably salt and vinegar potato chips. I don’t have them much anymore, though. Nowadays I like these Creamy Dill flavour hummus chips that I get from the health food store.
Haul: they haven’t been delivered yet, but I ordered three Vamplify glosses. One red, one pink (can’t think of the names!) and She-Rebel. Also a Laura Gellar swirly blush in Plumberry, and a Kent eye brush. I didn’t know Kent made makeup brushes – the brand is ooold and is the appointed hairbrush maker for the Queen. I haven’t tried the contour eye brush I bought but I have high hopes, since I love the hairbrush I have and they have a general reputation for good quality stuff.
Being an adult isn’t always so fun, haha!

Weekend plans, today, Saturday, I’m a bit late, I went to a fleamarket. Nothing fun really, but I got some vases, round green glass, one large and three small ones. Tomorrow I’ll have to do some cleaning.
Favourite thing to snack on, chocolate and fruit.

Haul: MAC Vamplify Hyper-Fabulous, What’s Going On?, Flash Drive, Push Some Buttons, Anything But Demure and Tuned In lipglosses, and In Control, Voltage and Rebellious lip liners. I’ve also gotten some clothes and shoes.
Weekend plans: My mom and I are on our bi-annual girls shopping trip down south for the long weekend! 🙂
Favorite thing to snack on?: I like bananas during the work day. Cheese and pickles or apples and cheese is pretty yummy too! Basically anything with cheese!
