This is a tough one because I love purple lipsticks and own a ton! My most used are probably MUFE #14, KvD Ayesha, MAC Gunner, NYX Playdate, Illamasqua Kontrol, and Pretty Zombie Cosmetics Transylvania.
OMG I tried to get my hands on MAC Gunner but no luck.
Oh yeah and ColourPop Feminist.
Revlon Matte Balm in Shameless.
I haven’t tried too many purples so my experience is limited, but I’d say Colourpop Leather. The deep purple is gorgeous and the wear time is great!
Oooh! I just googled that one and now it’s on my ColourPop wishlist.
YAS GURL! Leather is the best. Definitely get the liner for any CP lippie. It really intensifies the shade.
I’ll definitely have to pick it up then! And OMG I know, their liners are great! I have so many of them. I’m just bummed their lippie collections like the new Back to Cool one don’t have them!
I tend to stay away from purple so Shiseido Fuchsia RS 320 Perfect Rouge is as purple as I’ll get. It’s definitely more pink than outright purple but I think it’s a safer option if you’re just trying out the shade.
I have maaaaany but my fave is probably MAC Heroine.

I only have one truly purple lipstick, the rest are more berry-toned, and that’s Evening Rendezvous from the new MAC holiday collection. I just got it in the mail today! It’s a really nice true purple shade, and it went on opaque and creamy, but I had a bit of trouble making the edges clean (I always have problems using new bullets). I want to try to get a lip pencil to match (ColourPop, maybe?).
Colour Pop makes great lip pencils. I have like 6 of them, and they are all pigmented and creamy. You do have to sharpen, but it’s only $5 each, and comes in a nice range of colors
Colourpop Nevermind, although I only have the lip liner so I can’t necessarily speak for the actual lipstick version. But the liner is a really pretty deep purple that almost looks black but is still classy enough to wear out without looking too terribly emo! Light purples don’t flatter me very much so I’ve been on the lookout for dark purples and this one is definitely it.
CP Grind is also super well-performing even if it doesn’t look very good on me though! The application and pigmentation is outstanding and it’s honestly a shame that I can’t pull it off. I have a friend who I may end up offloading it on though because she’s been looking for a shade like it.
Who can pick just one? Illamasqua Kontrol is a great grape-popsicle-y, true, purple. The purple liquid lipstick from the new Jem and the Holograms Truly Outrageous set from Sephora is a nice dark purple, too. NYX Macaron Violet #5 is a pretty, lighter purple but doesn’t last very long. For more everyday-wearable colors, I love Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless and Too Faced Melted Fig.
My biggest miss is MUFE Rouge Artist Intense #15 — it’s the most insanely gorgeous purple in the tube, but it goes on so dry and patchy that it’s a huge disappointment.
For me there are two purples depending on whether you want a lighter purple or a darker one. MAC Men Love Mystery is a lighter, matte purple and MAC Heroine is a darker, matte purple.
Also if you want a more creamy finish I’d recommend Fab Pop by Clinique for a 60’s-syle light purple, and Grape Pop for a more true purple.

• Dark Purple: Black Radiance Indelibly Radiant Lipstick in (#5065) FEMME FETALE
• Deep Purple: Black Radiance Perfect Tone Lipstick in (#5033) MIDNIGHT GLOW
• *A lip pencil I use as a lipstick: Jordana Easyliner for Lips Retractable Pencil in MULBERRY CRÈME
I can’t pick just one (as usual). Jeffree Star Liquid Suede in I’m Royalty, OCC Technopagan, MAC Violetta, Nyx High Voltage in Playdate, Too Faced Melted Violet, Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids in Brazen Berry, and ColourPop Lippies in Grind and Leather.
I don’t know if Heroine counts, since it’s a purple pink on me, but that’s my fave. For purple purple, either Colour Pop Grind or Leather. I also like NYX Berry Strudel, it’s a gloss but pigmented enough to be a lipstick
Can’t believe I forgot Too Faced Melted Violet –insanely pretty !
How on earth did I forget my Nyx Berry Strudel??? These are all great picks, I love CP Grind, and want Leather now as well, as Nevermind is soooo dark, and not as smooth as MAC Smoked Purple.
So far, it’s the LE Maybelline one that came out several years ago and was a dead-on dupe (color wise) of the then LE MAC Heroine lipstick that was no longer available at that time. It’s called Lavender Voltage. I still adore it, but I now also have CP Grind, and it is a stunner as well. And having tried on MAC Men Love Mystery, that’s on my list, too.
But I really, really want Technopagan!

Mac Heroine is the most flattering shade of purple on my skin tone I have ever found in my life. I will always repurchase. 🙂
The closest I can think of is Revlon Black Cherry. I had a purple by Maybelline but I didn’t care for it much.

I don’t really wear purple lipsticks but I acquired Dior Fashion Night lipstick and it is pretty purple on me and beautiful. I purposely bought it since I don’t own any purple lipsticks.
Jeffree star cosmetics liquid lipstick in I’m royalty lasts FOREVER and is the brightest purple I own. Also like bite beauty violet as that’s more wearable.
another vote for Colourpop Leather! dark enough not to be pastel but light enough not to be too inky… perfect bluish-leaning purple.
Tom Ford Black Orchid.
Definitely love purples. Probably my favorite! My favorites are Kat Von D’s Ayesha, Jeffree Star’s I’m Royalty, OCC Technopagan, and MAC Gunner!
Lancome Violette Coquette
KVD liquid lipstick in backstage bambi, with a few drops of OCC RX mixed in.
I haven’t used a lot of purple lipsticks, but the ones that I have used are off-purple: YSL Fuchsia in Rage, YSL Pourpre Intouchable…and I think that’s it. I have Kat Von D’s Lullabye and Coven, but I haven’t had the chance to use them yet. My favorite is YSL Fuchsia in Rage.
I have many, and clinique Grape Pop is the one I reach for most!
ColourPop Flawless, hands down!
I’m really loving Colourpop’s Be-Dazzled. It’s a true, vivid, statement piece purple. However, it’s not so blue as to make my teeth look yellow. Just the right shade. Leather is also an amazingly sexy shade, especially paired with the liner.
Though I gotta give props to MAC’s Heroine and Violetta. Those are both pretty great.
I don’t wear purple too often. Probably MAC Up The Amp! I like that it’s slightly pink so it doesn’t make my teeth appear yellow.
You know what, I actually don’t own any purple lipstick, woops!

I love purple both on my lips and on my eyes, but not at the same time. I also love purple clothes.
