Liberty of London Look: Greens & Blues
Liberty of London Look: Greens & Blues
The boyfriend and I headed down to Monterey to visit the Aquarium, so I thought I’d try out some of the new products with some green in there to for that the “oceanic” feel!
I truly apologize for the lack of looks in the past two weeks. It’s been an emotional time for my family as we said goodbye to my first dog, Willy (aka Woolly & Mr. Dog), who lived to be over seventeen years old, last Saturday. I’m hoping this look will help me get back on track and give you all some more looks and the like. Thank you for understanding!
You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral beige base), MAC Lucky Green Eyeshadow (shimmery yellowed green), MAC Birds & Berries Eyeshadow (blue-teal), MAC Bough Grey Eyeshadow (blue-gray), MAC Femme-fi Eyeshadow (highlighter), Urban Decay Graffiti Eyeliner (green), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
- Face: Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer (Medium)
- Cheeks: MAC Prim & Proper Blush (beige-y nude), MAC Shell Pearl Beauty Powder (champagne-peach)
- Lips: MAC Ever Hip Lipstick (orange-coral), MAC Frankly Fresh Lipglass (beige-coral)
- Brushes: 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Birds & Berries = Tilt; Bough Grey = Scene; Prim & Proper = Tenderling; Shell Pearl = Soft & Gentle; Ever Hip = Ravishing; Frankly Fresh = Fresh Buzz
For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Lucky Green eyeshadow on the inner half of the eyelid. Next, apply Birds & Berries eyeshadow on the outer half of the eyelid and lightly into the outer crease. Darken the crease by applying Bough Grey eyeshadow with the 226. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Graffiti eyeliner on the lower lash line and Lucky Green eyeshadow lightly patted below the lower lash line with the 219 brush. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Prim & Proper blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116. Highlight cheekbones with Shell Pearl beauty powder with the 165.
For lips, apply Ever Hip lipstick first, and then layer Frankly Fresh lipglass for a complementing lip.
beautifull
love the colour of lucky green shadow
Thanks, Amanda!
Christine, no need to apologize. You lost someone and i understand where you are coming from. I am so sorry for your loss!! There will be better days 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
I think we both equally LOVE femme-fi as a highlight color. I bought a backup at my CCO the other month and I want to get another in fear of running out! LOL But I haven’t even hit pan yet on my very 1st femme-fi from the NeoSciFi collection! I don’t get why it’s so hard to use up! Sigh.
I think I have a back-up, too, but I’ve definitely made a big dip and hit pan in my original one 😉
I just have a big dip but no silver pan in sight!
Ha, speaking of Femme-fi backups…when I hit pan on mine (which was from the original Neo Sci Fi release) I was like noooo, because I don’t have easy access to a CCO. But my mother does, and it was close to Thanksgiving, so I asked her to pick one up for me. I get home for Thanksgiving and find a bag on my bed with THREE Femme-fis in it! She said “The girl at the store told me it was discontinued and would be gone soon so I better stock up!” Awww Mom. So now I suspect I will never run out of Femme-fi, which is great 🙂
Awww, SO SWEET of your Mom!! 🙂
Yeah that made me smile real big! The CCO is the only place to get MAC w/in 2 hours of her, so I bought her a current color she loves last year that they didn’t have there. I think she’d be a bit frightened if she knew the full extent of my obsession, but I have fun talking beauty with her 😉
LOL you will NEVER run out.
Love it! It looks super unique, but simple, but still super gorgeous! I’m gonna try with Green mix mineralize and bio green.
I’m so sorry about your dog, I know how close they can be. I am excited for more looks though!
Thank you, Nadine!
So pretty. Well done!
Thanks, Carissa!
I was planning on skipping this collection but Bough Grey looks so pretty I might have to pick it up.
It’s an interesting, soft gray that’s easier to use without going overboard.
So sorry for your loss, its like losing a family member.
Love the look and continue to enjoy all your MAC previews/reviews etc
Good Luck with the midterms!
Thank you, Lauren! 🙂
Gorgeous look! I love Lucky Green paired with Birds and Berries! I think you might have convinced me to get Birds and Berries too as well as Lucky Green 😛 Just when I think I have everything narrowed down, you do a gorgeous look that makes me want things more! Have you seen the bags that go with this collection yet? I’m debating on the medium sized one, I love the print, but I’m not sure if the quality is very nice or not for $25. The only other things I’ll get from the collection is Birds and Berries and Blue India! I’m trying to resist Dame’s Desire, although I think it would work really beautifully with Stars and Rockets.
Hi Ashley,
The bags have the same design as the beauty powders, just in full and enlarged. So, it’s the bird and the print background and there are two birds (basically, the mirror image of each other). I haven’t actually seen the bags in person though, so I’m not sure what the texture/feel is!
Thanks!
This is soo beautiful. You make me wanna run and get that urban decay liner. I have been in a make-up rut and always look to your posts for inspiration. I’m inspired, lol. I also wanted to say thank you for the site, I’ve been a temptalia fan since it launched and I just wanted to commend you on the reviews, looks and the site all together. I know how hard and time consuming keeping up with a site is. So THANK YOU for all your efforts! Keep it up Cristine!
Thanks, Angie! I’m so happy to have been able to inspire you a bit 😀
Hi Christine-
The look is great, I love Lucky Green on you.
I mostly wanted to comment to say how sorry I was for your loss. They really do become members of your family and it’s not fair that they don’t get to be around as long as we are. I’ll be thinking of you.
One of my favorites – got a huge dip in mine, ha!
Thank you so much, Chrissy! I appreciate it 🙂
Man’s best friend and doesn’t even live 1/4 of our lives!
I’m sorry about your dog! Seventeen years is a long time; I’m glad he got to be part of your family for that long.
Thank you! 🙂 He lived a very long & healthy life, so we were very happy that we had him for as long as we did.
Yeah, it’s really tough when you grow up with a pet. I’m glad he lived a healthy life 🙂
you look adorable in these pics! lovely colours, i really want that lipglass =D xxx
Thanks a lot, Nooberella 🙂
This is awesome, Christine – love the use of Lucky Green here and how Bough Grey sort of softens the blue. Also, I have to say it’s nice to see a look knowing you are wearing it out. I dunno why, it’s just fun to think of it “in use” 🙂
LOL! 😉
Thanks, Daphne!
Aww I am sorry to hear about Willy – (hugs)
Love the whole look!
Thanks, J! 🙂
that look is fantastic, I love it (though it’s rare for me not to love the looks you come up with. I think there was one I wasn’t a huge fan of and I don’t even remember what it was now LOL. Sorry about the dog, losing a pet that’s been in your family for such a long time is always hard. I think I cried for like 2 days almost straight when we put our first cat down. I love the 2 cats I have now but nothing really ever comes close to the first one does it.
Thanks, Bettina!
I know, it’s so hard to say goodbye, especially to the first!
Aww very pretty. I love the lip combo it’s perfect for spring.
Thanks, Sarah!
Love to look so sorry to hear about your dog:(
I meant love the look haha
Thanks, Megan 🙂
Hi! I bought the 249 brush last night because the MA said I should get it because I have large lid space (I wanted a brush to pack on color, like 239). The 249 is a tad big and not that firm though, should I take it back and exchange it for the 239? I specifically want it for some of my older shadows that seem to have gone down in pigmentation so I can pack them on. (ex: I have a Bitter shadow from 2004)
Halps!
I’d grab the 239. I like the 249 for creamy products, not so much for powders!
As always, beautiful. Your looks are just amazing and seem so simple! I have GOT to sit down and recreate some of them! 🙂
Thanks a lot, Laura!
Beautiful look!!!!
And I’m sorry to hear about your dog 🙁
Thanks, Andrea!
So sorry about your doggie Christine! My condolences!!!
hugs,
anita
Thanks, Anita! 🙂
Hi Christine! I am very sorry for your beloved dog’s passing; I know what it’s like and it’s so hard to accept a best friend is gone. Don’t worry ever about a lack of looks posts – we understand there is a lot going on in your life! Thanks for this look, it is amazing! Take care!
Thanks, Leticia! Really appreciate your understanding 🙂
🙁 I am soooo sad to hear of your family sadness! I cannot even imagine how sad this must be for you and your family, I know you have Mellen….but…I am just so sorry to read this.
Lots of love to you and your family
Thank you, Tanya! It’s always hard, even when you know it’s time!
Wow, looks great! Love the eyeshadow combo! How are you likeing Prim and Proper blush? 🙂
Thanks, Anna! I like it!
I’m sorry to hear about Willy. =\ ..And I know you’ll get back on track! This look is gorgeous!
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Kali 🙂
This looks so pretty on you! Love the color combo.
Thank you, Lindsay!
Sorry about your dog 🙁
The look is very pretty !
Thanks, Claudia 🙂
Love it!
Thanks so much, Tami!
Christine, I am so sorry for your loss, losing a pet is devastating!
But it’s good to know he had a healthy, long and happy life with you and your family. Thank You for still finding time and the spirit to make all these posts, they brighten the day for many of us, i’m sure!
And i’m very intrigued by Bough Grey, I just love these mixed and subtle colours. 🙂
Sometimes blogging is therapeutic for me, so it can help just to be here and talk with all of you 🙂
Christine, thanks for doing a look with the products! You made me even want the blush and lipstick more…. 😉
No problem! 🙂
I’m so sorry about your dog 🙁 Losing my dog was one of my most difficult moments in my life, it’s very hard to deal with.
The look is very gorgeous, and this just confirmed that I need Birds & Berries in my life! Such a beautiful color, I don’t think I have eyeshadow like that one yet.
Thanks a lot, Jenny! Appreciate your thoughts 🙂
Okay you solidfied my choice in purchasing bough grey when the line comes out. I may pass on Shell pearl sadly – it’s beautiful on you but I bet it would barely show on me! Oooh Birds and Berries is pretty too!
LOL! 😉 Thank you, Alexis!
I love the look. The green eyeliner really makes your eye color pop.
I also wanted to say sorry about Willy. We lost our 19 year old cat, Bootsy, last year. It’s extremely difficult to lose a pet, especially one who’s been a part of your family for such a long time. It sounds, though, like Willy lived a long and happy life with a family that loved him very much, and that’s all anyone could really ask for. :’)
Thanks, Penny!
So sad to hear about Bootsy 🙁 They really do become members of the family!
beautiful. i’m so sorry about your doggie 🙁
Thanks a lot, Summer!
So sorry to hear about your dog, I have a little Yorkie who is my baby so I totally feel for you! Hope your week gets better! 🙂
Aww, bet your Yorkie is a cutie! 🙂 My aunt has always had Yorkies!
Thank you!
i ha Angel lipstick but one day my 2 year old daughter got a hold of it and = ( ..i think you know what happend..
Oh man, that’s beautiful. I love it! And perfect for spring.
Thanks, Trisha!
OK, that settles it, I need birds and berries.
Haha 😛
First Christine I’m so sorry to hear about Willy, glad you have Mellan by your side!
I’m thinking Frankly Fresh is going to be a must for me. 🙂
Thank you, Alexis!
Wow! This looks soo beautiful on you! The eye shadow colors are so vibrant! Plus you have really pretty eyes too, and these colors really accentuate them!
Thanks a lot 😀
Christine, I’m so sorry to hear about your dog. It’s never easy to lose a pet. I’m welling up just thinking about it. Seventeen years is such a good, long time though. I’m sure he felt very loved.
Thinking of you and your family. XO~Stef
PS) Wonderful look, as always.
Thank you so much, Stef! I appreciate your thoughts 🙂
Ohhh Bough Grey looks amazing!!!!
Think you’ll be getting it, Cherie?
such a pretty coral! i’m excited to pick that one up 🙂
Thanks, Dusty!
I’m very very sorry to hear about Willy, Christine!
Your look is gorgeous, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from you! I think this has convinced me to give Bough Grey a try after all. It looked very “muddy” in the pan, but I love it on here.
Aw, thanks so much, K! 🙂 Appreciate it!
I’m sorry for your loss. Perhaps you could post a picture of Willy? Gosh he was an old doggie!
Yes, my family included the dogs in the family portrait, LOL.

This looks amazing on you..very fresh and ready for spring! =)
I especially love your lip color.
Thanks so much, Casey!
Hi Christine,
I really love your lips here! I think I’m going to buy ever hip l/s. Not sure about the frankly fresh lipgloss though because I am planning on getting the richer lusher cremesheen glass tomorrow. If I do get that, do you think I can skip frankly fresh, or should I get both?
I think you could skip Frankly Fresh 🙂
i’m sorry to hear about your dog 🙁 my condolences to you.
Thank you, Alice!
This looks so lovely! But to be honest, I have never seen you wear an eye colour that does not suit you or that was not done beautifully! Blue and green together? Who would have thought…. 🙂 Nice job, Christine. As always.
Thanks a lot, Hilana! LOL, that’s because if it TRULY sucked, I wouldn’t post it 😛
Sorry for your loss Christine. Must be tough losing a family member.
Gorgeous look, as usual.
Thanks, Pia 🙂
this is such a pretty look! really brings out the colour in your eyes 🙂
it’s spring colour forecast launch day today in the UK so i’m killing time before my local counter opens… i’m so impatient!
Thanks a lot, Rachel! 🙂
YAY!
I really want Birds and Berries and Bough Grey, but I don’t know how to wear them! What other colours would you recommend pairing them with apart from green?
Blues, greens, silvers, grays, maybe plums! Antique golds, taupes…
I’m so sorry for your loss *hug*.
Thanks, Lana 🙂
You truly are a master of blending and choosing great colors! I’m sorry to hear about Willy. Were he and Mellan good buddies?
Thank you, Millie!
Actually, they weren’t, lol! My family’s dogs (I grew up with two of them; they added one while I was away at college) don’t like Mellan at all. I think Willy in particular was probably more confused than anything else – he met Mellan when Mellan was a puppy (like 10 lbs and smaller than him), but he got blinder over time… and he probably had no idea why all of a sudden he can walk under Mellan! (Willy was a mixed terrier rescue – about 18 lbs or so!) The other two dogs are also small (another mixed terrier and then a rescued pekingese).
Christine, this is just gorgeous!! On a side note, I just heard the liberty of London scarf will only be at the store in soho! I’m so sad! I pray they have it online! I want it so badly!
Thank you, Z! Oh no 🙁 They should have it online!
Love the lips! I think I’ll get the Ever Hip…
Thanks, Nene!
Such pretty colors! 😀
Thanks Potatisbruden!
I tried out this eye look for today with some minor adjustments, and it turned out great! I didn’t add any eyeliner or eyeshadow under the eye, and I used Silver Ring lightly in place of Bough Grey, but it came out looking so fun! This look from you definitely convinced me to buy Lucky Green and Birds and Berries, and I’m so glad I did! Thanks Christine for an awesome look!
Aww, yay!! Isn’t Lucky Green AMAZING? I love it so!! I was so excited they made it perm so I can use it again and again!
