i never knew i can wear ‘dark colors’ until my friend bullied a MAC MA to ‘put dark purple on her’… then i realized whenever i wear purple e/s my pretty brown eyes appear lighter brown and more mesmerizing!
For my signature look:
for e/s i wear MAC reubenesque paint pot as base, MAC shimmertime pigment as highlighter, MAC lovely lilly pigment on the inside 1/3 of the lid, the rest 2/3 of lid Bare Escentials e/s in Devotion, and I darken the other V of the lid with the darkest purple from MAC Stack 1! pigment. Then eyeliner in MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack and MAC Zoom mascara.
MAC Peach ombre as blush and highliter, and MAC dark medium MSF as contour, MAC lady gaga lipstick with MAC Prrrr lipglass on top.
i find the look whispers ‘romance’ and is relatively neutral enough even to wear to work… 🙂
light foundation, peach blush, neat brows, mascara, purple liner and a lip stain with a slick of gloss. It looks groomed, but simple. And under the Africa sun, you try your best to look good without having your make-up melt off of your face! 🙂
Hilana, this sounds really neat! Would you mind sharing what liner and lip stain you’re using? I also live in hot country and would love some alternatives to my black liner. Thanks!
I love satin taupe on the eye, and sinnamon on top of gleam on the lips my absolute favorite lip combo 🙂
Neutral eyes and cheeks, defined brows, light mascara, deep red lips.
Very simple looks– I’m more of a geeky chic than girly chic, so the more products I wear, the weirder it looks. Which is a shame, since I do love makeup.
But no foundation, just maybe a tinted moisturizer and light powder, Nars Orgasm, black eyeliner, neutral or dark eyes. Bare or very toned down lips, like chapstick. Even lipstick/gloss looks like TOO MUCH on me.
My signature would be to go natural/nude! Prep up the face flawlessly and finishing with swipes of Guerlain Meteorites, eye brow, blush/bronzer, and lip balm/gloss. Do this a lot esp when pressing for time, which I always am. 😉
My signature look is neutral-warm colors for my blue eyes (lately bobbi brown pewter, w/dark bronze or olive eyeliner), a matte crease color like MAC Coquette mixed with Soft Brown, black mascara, a subtle pink blush like Lancome Cedar Rose, and a brownish pink my-lips-but-better color like LORAC hottie gloss. I sweep Becca Nymph PSP on my cheekbones/all over for a “glow” (Becca makes the most natural finely-milled highlighters out there!), and a touch of bronze in my cheek hollows/on forehead. Very boring, but always polished. The menfolk seem to dig it, too! 😀
Usually gold on the lid with a shimmery bronze or taupe in the crease 🙂 and nude lips
I have, actually! I’m cooltoned, and everybody tells me that i remind them of those 50’s and 60’s pinups, with their quirky and slighty naughty looking makeup. I’ve translated their signature look into my personal pinup inspired look that is 100% schoolproof.
Face: SFF in NW15, Benefit’s powderflage under the eyes, and a dash of Tippy blush on the cheeks, followed by a light sweep of MSF in Porcelain.
Eyes: Bare study paintpot as a base, followed by yoghurt e/s all over the lid, the crease darkened with just a flush of Espresso e/s (applied with a 224!). Then the most imported part if this look : and blacker than black liquid eyeliner in an allongated winged shape (which is, pulling the liner into the end of your upper lashline, and then following the natural wing of your lower lashline). Next step would be to apply Fascinating eye kohl on the lower lashline, and tightlining my upper lashline with any black waterproof eyeliner. Finally, adding some Permaplum powerpoint under my eyes and gently smudging it with a little shadowy lady e/s or satin taupe. Mascara, and i’m done!
For the lips, i just go for natural rosy looking lips. Dior Addict l/s in Beige Dessous, followed by some Fuschia Fix TLC or Nymphette l/g.
When i’m in a funkier mood, i usually grab a Girl About Town l/s.
yes! mine is: foundation, MSFN in light medium and benefit dandelion or thrrrob powder on my cheeks, depending on my mood. on my eyes i use UDPP for a base; neutral e/s, ususally sugarshot and smoke and diamonds. blacktrack fluidline on the upper lashline, UD 24/7 pencil in zero on the lower lash and waterline and benefit badgal lash mascara. tidy up and define brows. on lips i use girl about town l/s and sometimes style minx l/g if i’m going out. and there you have it!
i don’t know why, but hot pink lipsticks make me happy and i always feel better with some on 🙂
I go for the classic PinUp look 9 times out of 10. I use either MAC Viva I(night) or Chanel Coromandel(day) on the lips and then use Blacktrack liner to do the cat eye and then line my inner eye w/ Feline. To finish the look, I use Chanel’s Tweed Shimmer on my cheekbones for a touch of warmth. I don’t use a blush because I want my lips to be the focus.
My friends point out that I like to what greens, blues and turqoise,be it eyeshadow or liner, they think it’s very “Me”.
Greens on the eye, copper bronze for the lips
smudged black eyeliner and chipped black nail polish 😉 and unless it’s a special occasion, you can almost always spot me in levi 511 jeans, a black t-shirt (usually a band shirt) and black dr. martin boots 😛
Groomed – but somewhat full and filled-in eyebrows, black cat-eye eyeliner, bruised-plum colour in the crease and sometimes some smudged liner or shadow on the lower lashline. *Lots* of mascara. MAC Ladyblush cremeblush on the apples of the cheeks, and either retina-searing red or coral lipstick.
Lately, though, I’m switching out the bright lips for Hot Tahiti, which is pretty much what colour my lips are naturally, so it’s a little less pinup-y.
my signature look is so simple..might be boring for some people tho..
-eyes lined with black kohl & 2 coats of mascara.
-a healthy pop of pink or apricot blush (BB Peony or Apricot blush)
-MAC Hug Me lippie with Big Baby plushglass.
soft cat-eye liner (cream liner), on the lashline only with nothing on waterline, LOTS of mascara, gelled brows, highlighted browbone and rosy cheeks.
Kohl lined eyes , lots of mascara , a light peach blush (think Nuance Mineralize Blush) and im good to go =)
Vibrant green eyes, pinkish blush en pinkish glossy lips 🙂 My skin is really light (115 in MUFE HD) and I have red/orange hair and green eyes, so that makes a lot of colors on the face, but I like it 🙂
Mine is very similar. Vibrant, but very light smokey eye (with One-Off), bright red blush (still light) and Impassioned on my lips. I too have very fair skin, but my hair is light brown.
Neutral eyeshadow, a rather pronounced eyeline with a “tail”, rosy cheeks and lips (a la MAC laugh-a-lot) is what works for my light complexion and blonde hair.
hmmm. I guess this would be ligth foundation and Dior iridescent quints
Wow, somebody posted from Africa. How neat is that?!?! Anyway, my signature look would have to be Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, MAC Shroom eyeshadow in my tear duct, winged eye liner, MAC Lillicent creme blush, and MAC Angel lipstick. Easy and breezy, but still sexy (thanks to the liner).
Light on the foundation and blush, smokey eye (any color combo), nude lip
Winged liner, strong brows, pink lips.
A brown or taupe smoky eye, accented cheekbones and slightly pale lips.
I like wearing dark or red lips sometimes, but I always feel like a pretty standard, not-too-dramatic brown smoky eye and paler lip is “me”.
I totally don’t have a signature look lol. Well, I guess maybe foundation and concealer always, some sort of liner and loads of mascara and shiny juicy lips lol.
Sheer foundation, light pink or peach blush, light shadow in varying colors, Rich Ground fluidline on upper lashes only, defined brows, well lined bright pink lips. Pretty much a variation of a pin-up type look, softened for the office.
I’m more on the cool toned side, light brown natural hair but highlighted blonde for years now. I guess I’d have to say I like to do a well defined neutral eye with a pop of color (MAC Crystal or Aquavert e/s in inner lid, or a fun colored eyeliner). I tend to line the waterline no matter what color eyeliner I use. I like to do a rosy neutral lip or a coral l/g (which looks like a warmed up pink on me). Cargo Matte Brozer in Medium and Benefit Sugarbomb are everyday warm-me-up-and-give-me-a-glow products.
cat liner!!
Lately I have been all about a warm neutral eye (using MAC e/s in Saddle, Cross Cultural, and Signed and Sealed (?)) and a pink lip (the shade of pink has been varying from day to day. This past weekend it was MAC’s Magenta lip pencil and l/s in Girl about Town. Monday it was MAC’s Pink Plaid l/s (matte) LOVED! Then in was Revlon’s Wink for Pink. And today it is MAC’s Trimmed in Pink lip pencil and the Loud & Lovely Cremesheen :).
I would have to say my trademark look would involve a black winged out upper lash line. It’s always been my thing since I was 16. I do many different looks but this will always be my fall back and my homage to Sophia Loren!
oh and in addition to the winged liner – it’s usually a milky pink/nude lip and strong defined eyebrows.
Neutral eyes, bold lips (my favs are MAC Gladiola l/s, So Chaud l/s, Red Devil l/g, Magnetique l/g, Up the Amp l/s, NARS Funny Face l/s)
Matte skin (Revlon colourstay), baby pink blush (usually MAC well dressed), Black eyeliner & mascara (Urban decay 24/7 liner in zero & l’oreal telescopic), Urban decay eyeshadow in Sellout with Midnight cowboy rides again over the top, and Mac’s underage gloss on the lips 🙂
BOLD lips-red, bright pink, plum, coral, and similarly toned eyes. I am queen of the Fuchsia eyeshadow. But I NEED the strong lips to balance it. It sounds like way too much makeup, but it really DOES work a lot better on me than paler, more natural, lips, and I prefer it to even other bright/bold eyes. As much as I love turquise, myeyes just POP so much more with eyesore-pink shadows. Also, liner is concentrated towards the outer end of the eye-I don’t apply eyeliner all the way in on the lower lid, except on the waterline.
i wish you had a pic of this just because i would love to see how a double bold lip/eye look would work.
The look I do almost everyday uses most of th stuff I got when Naughty Nauticals came out…and I’ve badly made a dent in them after nearly 2 years! I put Shore Leave on the inner corners of my eye, then Shale on the rest of the lid. Then I put a touch of Carbon in the outer corners and wing it out for a subtle cat eye. Finally, I use Submarine as a liner on the lower lashline. It takes five minutes and the outcome is fantastic.
Red lips and lots of mascara!
golden/neutral browns on eyes, nude or pink lips
My signature look since middle school is the cat eye/winged tip eyelined eye. Am 23 now. I love wearing liquid eyeliner, so it has stuck with me. Goes with my love for pin-ups and vintage.
stila kitten on lid, UD last call in the crease w/ black liquid liner and black mascara 🙂
No signature look for me. However, I am starting my student teaching in a week and I’m struggling with knowing what is okay to wear at that school. Obviously I won’t go crazy but I think I’ll go with super neutral for the first week and then add a little color.
Smokey eyes (any colour, green, blue, purple, pink, but I mix the colour with black or brown), black eye liner (blacktrack fluidline) and lashes!!! The rest of the face & lips just natural!
Always mascara, pretty pink lip with a coral undertone (love Guerlain’s Rouge G Guilette), peachy pink cheeks, highlighter and a dusting of meteorites.
My signature look IS doing makeup! lol Not a lot of my friends or coworkers wear much makeup.
I will share my standby/signature look with the method I use rather than colours as I usally change it up… My method is a medium shade eyeshadow all over the lid, dark colour in the outter V + crease and a highlighter under the brow and ear duct area. Add dark eyeliner (brown or black)to top lid and mascara on upper + lower lashes. Complete wtih a nice blush and colour on the lips.
on a regular basis i’d say it’s a very 80’s neutral brown look….but really, any makeup is probably my signature, becuase when i don’t wear any, i’m tld i look ‘sleepy’!
The classic hollywood look – beige eyes, red lips.
Or rainbow eyeshadow. 😀
1)Eyes – Smokey Brown Eyes: MACs Cork, Brown Down & Vanilla….Black Eyeliner..Mascara
2)Cheeks – Illamasqua Blush in “Thrust”
3)Lips – Nude Pink Lip
